Is this documentary actually going to be finished? The lack of transparency and updates is shocking given how swift and how large a financial response it got from fans like myself. Not very happy about the team's lack of communication. Poor show.
You know what stands out about Voyager to me? I never noticed that there was a female captain. Or a black Vulcan. Or a female chief engineer. Or an Asian operations officer. Or a Native American first officer. I honestly never noticed until I got older. This show was never preaching diversity. It just happened to be there as this incredible, knowledgeable, brave, compassionate crew showed me how to live with integrity and to experience life with the joy of discovery from the age of four onwards.
No one stays young forever (with the possible exception of Jeri Ryan) and your voice changes as you age. Except for Robert Duncan McNeill who still sounds exactly like he did back in the 90s.
I wish CBS would do a mini series sequel to Voyager based on the novels Homecoming/The Farther Shore. Voyager didn't get a proper ending with closure. And Voyager was my favorite Star Trek show.
I ran into Robert Duncan McNeil in Toys’R’US back during the run of the show with his kids. As fate would have it, I was wearing a Star Trek shirt that day, and I felt self conscious about it, so I tried to keep away from him but still ran into him at the check out. He asked me for the time. My biggest takeaway was he was a good father, which goes a long way with me.
So excited for this! Maybe this will somehow, some way, stir up enough interest in the series that Paramount finally gives the entire series (and DS9) a full, proper HD restoration.
