Are you in the medical field? If you are, this is my approach: 1. Decide what you want to improve. E.g. I am weak at writing the discussion section of qualitative research papers. So, I will choose a paper with a qualitative methodology and do copywork on the results and discussion section. 2. If you want to improve to write concisely - choose papers from New England of Journal of Medicine. Problem - many are not open access. But the archived articles are usually open access. 3. JAMA network open - overall, the quality of writing is good, and the papers are all open access. I would usually skim the articles and randomly pick one.
