Troy from Pro Fab checking in on the old Toast machine, even tough I spent my whole Monday working on it I couldn't wait to see the video. Spoiler Alert!!! Toast has a hood now! lol
Damn it tekashi you had to spoil the next update on toast for us! Lol just playing your a great fab worker brother keep it up but quit tattle taling 69 lol
I had a 79 Monte Carlo with a 402 Big Block and drove it on the street on Methanol. People at stop lights hated the fumes. This was in the mid 1980s. Methanol makes a motor come to life!
@@meanman6992 Man to TBH it might not be that hard to mod a tesla to go that fast or even faster just double the voltage and you double the power of electric motors. good quality motors can handle doubling or even tripling of voltage for short durations of use such as a drag race. I imagine if someone wanted and had the money to dump for one to ruin it as a daily car they could rewire some of the battery modules out of parallel and add them in series to do so. Electric motors have nearly limitless potential in regards to performance compared to combustion engines
I worry now that I'm past 50yrs old. It feels like anyday now, my Shart Detector is gonna blink offline with a simple cough or sneeze. What's with 10min after I piss, my right pocket feels damp and the mystery spot appears? It's obvious, NO more Khakis for me.
Crazy watching back at these videos. It still blows my mind that there is so much blower and engine there. And that a coyote can make more power with the stock bottom end.
ALL OF IT!! Seriously, does this expensive ratmotor have knock sensors to detect pre-ignition and instantly dial back timing advance ? Pre-ignition/ backfiring is what can wreck the motor, and can blow the supercharger right off the top of the engine. Next thing, you guys will be whooping out the windows, hitting the nitromethane injection bottom to go to plaid speed.. could use a " breather box/ oil blowby separator.. sweet build ! Sounds 😍
Armando Hernandez every single engine ever made has blowby, plus this is a huge engine built for boost with assuming large ring gaps so yea it’s gunna huff some air it’s no big deal.
yes its nice to see a patient tuner. customers used to get mad at me for taking my time and making it perfect but they'll be the same ones to blame you if it scatters.
This project makes me happy as a sub to see Garrett back when he built Leroy he always talked with so much excitement behind him.. toast brings that back I feel, good stuff brother!!! America man great stuff
You should have a special insert that you put underneath the wheel well in the back so that when the tires do explode they don't destroy the car just a thought
I almost starting laughing out load when they first started it on methanol. With no fan blowing out the fumes. And none of them wearing masks. Anyone who has been around a car running methanol knows exactly what I am referring to. Seeing Cleetus’ and Jeremy’s faces was priceless. Methanol fumes will bring the toughest dudes to tears. 😂😂😂
Yep, being under the Snap-On tent at summer nationals watching the guys test and tune the funny car after a rebuild. Every single one of them has a gas mask on, and I sure wished I did too.
Lol cleetus's eyes when the methanol kicks in had me rolling. I remember my first time in the pits walking past an alcohol car when they did a blip and I couldn't see for a few minutes. If I do recall it was John Forces car.
Your first hit of methanol will always be a fond memory. I was five working alongside my dad in a race shop, I was in love the instant that beast shook the shop.
Did John Force race alcohol cars, too? I know the top fuel cars will absolutely blind you instantly, they sure did me the one big NHRA event I went to.
I got too hang out with John Force at heartland park. It was insane being right next to the car when they warmed it up. I thought watching them up close rebuilding the motor after each pass was the best part
@@dannyhernandez1296 Yes, watching the rebuild of the top fuel boats and then the start up was my favorite part. I have not seen the top fuel cars, and I live 30 minutes or so from Pomona. The racing is borring to me (can't stand watching any sports, even competitive shooting when friends or family do it....and I am a competitive shooter as well). I do watch cletus and the guys run, but that is only because it is part of the whole story of what happens off the track. My hobbies and the way I make a living are by working with my hands and building or repairing stuff. Those guys have a great job.
Anything that makes horsepower stud girdles are mandatory. 273 rear gear with a powerglide and it comes out of first gear at 80 miles per hour. Loads of fun on the freeway. Nice job dude!
@Cleetus the contagious polishing is very real! My friends and I came up with a name, "Chrome's Disease", even though we were compulsively polishing aluminum motorcycle engine parts.
Cleetus the anticipation, letdowns, and pure adrenaline made those series of videos amazing. Took me 3-4 days to watch the whole 3 parts and I can not wait for the burnouts. Not sure if they’re in here yet but I’m going to look now. Kevin is one hell of a tuner. I’ve never actually punched a key board and even been able to read a dyno graph that well. I even learned a ton from him. Our application is 100% N/A but the info here was amazing. Great job brother.
I had a big block 3rd gen. It was pretty damn rowdy. Really really scary car. That was an N/A 396. I can’t imagine how that beast feels at over 600ci and a giant blower. Big blocks are just completely different animals than LS engines and Ford DOHC v8s. The instant torque is addicting.
When i worked in a speed shop, one of the boost/nitrous engines we put in a truck would blow smoke out of the breathers at idle, I cant' even imagine it under load on a dyno.
Bump the cam 2 to 4 degrees to the crank! Instead of the timing always helped my 69 bird before I blew it up! Valve kissed a piston had like 4 missiles go thru the valve cove and stick in the hood! Do be carefully! Midland dragway! 140 mph then engine brake! What a ride 1975??
What a great bunch of guys, toast is an absolute beast! love your channel and I wish you guys the very best down under! Can't wait to see you rip it down there.
Kyle Crater the build isnt gay four rotor is awesomly cool rob might not be that cool but the four rotor is and he is footin the bill what custom one off shit have u paid for?
@@shaunbarlow8993 its a sponsored build its not that special. Only thing unique is its billet. Plenty of 4 rotor builds already including on the street.
I have a 1972 chevy pickup truck in mint condition that i really want to fix up and i want to let you know that i have been inspired to complete this project when i started watching this build you are working on. Thank you for this inspiration (: #feel the roar
P.s. don't stick your arm near or in blower, or try and stop rear tire with foot, especially opposite way it's spinning, basically toying with insane high power stuff, that how get hurt.
Its rwhp × 1.x= crank hp x= being the drive train loss. A truck x can be as high as 30% loss modern 8 speed autos are usually around 12% so for a car like a this it would look like this 962x1.20=1152 crank hp ish.
@@MinneGrommer Yeah reference to old school tuning method, you used to have a chip set for the rev limiter, you'd change the chip to change the limit. When he hit the Limiter Jeremy said put it on the chip, as in he hit the limiter.
I would have gone with a dry sump setup to be totally honest, especially for this application. When these things are whipping around you are going to have some serious oil surge.
You know ruby is fast when Adamlz says ,” can we not do that again on the way back I had enough” he’s use to fast cars and that car scares the shit out of him
