Why would you reopen a paid and closed tab to add new items instead of just starting a new tab for the same guest? We’re getting toast at my Job, so I’m just trying to figure out if this is personal preference or if it has to be done, because I just start a whole new tab with the Aloha system we currently have. To reopen a tab we need to have a manager swipe their card to open the function.
You don’t have to do it that way. In most cases this would be done to remove items from a paid or closed tab for a partial refund, or if there were incorrect items on the tab that need to be switched. With toast you can set up permissions however you like. For example, all of my bartenders have the permission to re open or refund tabs. Toast lets your personalize the setup to your specific needs. These training videos were specific to my bar group and location. I just made them public for ease of sharing.
We don’t have ours set up to save the card info when you swipe it. Just the name. It’s set up this way specific to our bar group. These videos are just for our staff, not toast in general. Toast gives you lots of options to set things up in the way that best suits your needs.
