Mr. Foreman! The egg slipped off, some sausage fell off, and it looked to be going south fast. Then the final result slapped us in the face with a mighty fine looking sandwich. That pan is a great tool for some cowboy cooking. Thanks again for a great idea and another great story. I love your videos. Keep 'em coming.
Thanks for being the first to comment but it turned out that the egg running over the edge of the bread pulled everyithing that fell over the edge back into the sandwich and nothing was left loose in the pan. Some thing just work out no matter how hard we try to screw it up. In fact, I think I'll try throwing everything together like bread pudding and see how it turns out.... perhaps another RU-vid.

It's a neat litle pan but it gets blazing hot and could give nasty burns which is probably why one can't find them any more, not even on Ebay. Best betwould be thrift or Good Will stores. Tina said if I ever wanted to get rid of it, she'd like it back. She gave to me for Christmas. I have a couple more ideas I want to try out with it.

Great! That was the first magazine article I ever sold. Yes, I remember you telling of being in the 'O3rd but I had already mustered out by the time you got there. I was doing my two weeks summer camp in 1955 and got assigned to the 1903rd which was building helicopter pads at Fort Wolters, located west the DFW area at Mineral Wells. The unit was down to about 200 people when I arrived and they had just recreived orders that all EAB units were being deactivated and returned to their various National Guard units. On July 25, there was five people left, the CO, his driver, the Exec and Supply Officers and me. The ceremony was short and sweet: I marched the driver carrying the unit colors to where they were handed to the people from the Illinois National Guard and it was over in 10 minutes. The 1903rd EAB was no more.

As an airport bum hanging out around Black Forest Gliderport, I got to meet a number of notable people. Any time John Denver wanted to escape from the Hollywood and music crowd, he'd hop in his Cessna and come over to Black Forest. If the Lennie Inn, a small 3 unit motel on the field, he'd usually stay at our house. I also met Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Christopher Reeve, all who came there to make high altitude glider flights (30,000 feet) in the Pikes Peak wave.

I just looked it up and it was a Japanese Aichi DIA2, it was classed as a light carrier bomber, code name: The Suzie. A few were used for Kamikazi strikes but they were so slow that they were easily shot down before they reached a target.
