Excellent video! I have the tobii and didnt know works for xplane 12!!! will do, can u make another video again on the nvidia filters, maybe more details from the last one so we know which filters work with xplane vs msfs2020 etc. thanks for all u do!
Thank you very much! Yes it is. I still use some of my quick view bindings and it all works very well together. :) you may have to disable the plugin when settings the views but once the views are set and saved you can use them as normal with the tobii eye tacker.
Well, now ten days after the video was posted and the "problem" with loading the plugin still not fixed. I went ahead with the "fix" and moved the plugin from %appdata% to Xplane plugins folder and ... NOTHING! Not showing in Xplane itself and no evidence the Eye tracker is working. The plugin folder "Tobiiplugin" is definitely in Xplane resources plugins folder as you suggest so what I now have is a waste of a lot of money sitting in front of me. All potential users should beware this is NOT plug and play.
Are you sure the tobii plugin folder isn't in a sub-folder of itself. X-plane won't read the plugin if it's in too many sub-folders. If you can join my discord and send a screenshot of the plugin folder structure into the X-Plane Help section I'd be more than happy to try and help. Also the Tobii support crew have been very good in my experience and I'm sure they would also be able to help, as they helped me.
@@DrishalMAC2 Hi, yes the plugin is not in a sub folder. I can step down through the tree and back up again and the path is exactly the same as your one shown in the video. I got in touch with Tobii and like you said they were very helpful. they sent me a link to previous version which went right ahead and installed the game hub and the win.xpl straight to the correct xplane folder. right at this moment though I am still not seeing the eye tracker in xplane so I am going to rewatch your video to check I am not missing something else. Just to say thanks for your video and reply, at least it gave me a place to start and it feels like I am making progress.
No worries at all :) Just one thing to note is that you need to start the tobii game hub before you start xplane. Then it should all work :) if you have any more issues then you can of course contact tobii support or if I can I'm happy to try and help :)
@@DrishalMAC2 Well I did think I was making progress, ee errr! I followed supports suggestion of deleting and installing a previous game hub version. set game hub running then logged into Xplane. No sign of any tracking, no plugin showing and no evidence of tracking in xplane OR DCS as it turns out. I put in an update to Tobii support but all in all after spending hundreds of pounds and hours trying to get tracking to function I would recommend avoiding this device at all costs. If it works for you, you must be one of the lucky ones cos it is definitely not plug and play. I ran through set up and it recognised my eyes but in game it's a dead duck.
