We really enjoy reviewing products where you get EVERYTHING you need in one box. The TobyRich SmartPlane Pro was no exception. The TobyRich SmartPlane Pro comes with the plane (with onboard camera), flight battery and USB charger and FPV goggles (including USB charge lead) with SD card. All you need to do is download the SmartPlane App to your smart phone and you are ready to fly in FPV.
We found this RC plane to be SUPER DURABLE. It takes a few short flights to learn how to fly it (optionally using the training program in the App) and you will inevitably have the odd crash but this RC plane just bounces ! Pick it up, press Launch on the App and off you go again.
Fly by pressing Launch on the App, and then by tilting your smart phone left or right. Altitude is controlled with a slider on the App. Perform tricks and stunts by gesturing down or up with the phone. The trick/stunt performed per gesture can be changed in the App. A joystick is provided to stick to your smart phone if that is your preferred method of control rather than tilting. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND this TobyRich SmartPlane Pro. Easy to fly and hours of fun for not a lot of money.

Having flown micro quadcopters and driven micro rc cars with dedicated phone apps, i'm of the opinion that phones make for terrible controllers. It's a great looking little plane, but i would much rather flight it with even the cheapest of remote controls, as opposed to my phone. Can it be linked to a remote control, such as the ones that come with wltoys' line of airplanes?

You did well with it. Most people I've seen don't. (including me) Having attempted it I wouldn't recommend it for noobs at all. If this was their first experience of FPV planes it could put them off completely :) I am impressed by your skills and determination in this video.

Hi Dom, the model flight very well. Bu it seems to me a little harder to drive the model with smartphone, Yes i know that in this way we avoid the presence of a dedicate remote but for an absolute beginner this will traduce in not to learn the correct way to drive a model..... Hi!

Yeah...been super hot in UK the last few weeks. I burn VERY easily even though I wear long sleeves most of the time and wear sunblock. No pain no gain as they say. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)

That would be ok if they were charging 30 or 40 dollers but at over 120 its a piece of shit and just another in a long line of overpriced Styrofoam garbage that is killing our hobby thanks for trying to fly that i understand you have to try to keep a strait face while testing those fine products banggood sends you

If it doesn't sell for 120 then the price will come down won't it...but it's not a bad product if flown in zero wind. I think just takes sometime to learn how to fly it. I'm going to try again when conditions are good again and see if I can give a better demo. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
