Rack mounting bolts shifted. I see it quite often. Make sure they’re good and tight.

The noise you heard on the SSR was the steering shaft spline slipping . That's why your steering wheel is now at an angle. You need to find the bolt that connects the steering wheel shaft to the steering gearbox located under the dash.

It's ceazy that he didn't check that since everything else on that steering was loose. He better tighten that bolt before he ends up driving into a wall or something because the wheels didn't follow the steering wheel. 😬

AC always seems to goes out when its the hottest. Discharge that cap with a screwdriver. The badges look great on youe Kia.

Get a soft start for the AC. It will allow the compressor to start with fewer amps.

Chances are Randy, it is the capacitor. The next thing it can be is a locked rotor on the compressor. THAT will be the nightmare. And with the people servicing A/C units probably thru til 11pm? Good luck getting someone out there. Here in NJ we have been blessed with temperatures that are high, but no humidity. That helps alot.

Sounds like the main Fan motor is stuck or has overheated . That could explain why the breaker exploded at the breaker box.

'Bruh',😂 1). Order 2 capacitors 2). Install a whole house surge protector dual pole breaker in your main house breaker box like a Square D HEPD80 $123.26 on Amz, 3). or in a pinch, get a stick and start the fan on the A/C unit outside, have your thermostat turned way down. When you leave, turn off the power till you get a new capacitor.

Consider ordering 2 capacitors (then store the extra in a place that you will forget where it is when you need it) and a meter that measures microfarads. Rock solid AC diagnostic skills. . by the way. Great content as always.

Love the vlog style videos Randy. Maybe you should take a closer look at the rack on the SSR and see if something is loose. Something may need to be finalized in there but its not easy to see. Hope your A/C gets sorted out soon with your capacitor issue. Appreciate all your content!👍

To test the capacitor start the fan with a screw driver. If it stays spinning it is that. The speed won’t be full speed.

Check the steering shaft on the inside under the dash they might have pulled the hole shaft out when replacing the rack pinions

Use a dowel, get the fan turning, you'll be up and running until the new capacitor arrives or until the A/C turns off.

Got to do a drip line flush every summer as it gums up, clean the condenser outside too. Uses far less electricity that way and helps prevent capacitor overtaxing

Just an FYI, Heat will help to remove adhesive or Acetone will remove it.

Get yourself a soft starter for your AC, its definitely worth it to lessen the load on your circuit.

Try push starting the fan while on. If the fan slowly gets up to speed. You know it’s the capacitor!

Cage the elephant "there aint no rest for the wicked, money dont grow on trees". The mower part is like a shear pin for a snowblower auger. Youd be surprised how many customers we get who change them out for grade 8 or higher bolts, not realizing the purpose of the pins is to break when you pick up a rock or hit an ice chunk to protect the differential. Then they end up costing themselves more in repairs bc the gears cost more than the pins. Good idea that you ordered several extras.

Hi Randy, been one of those days. we all have experienced that. In NC, we have seldom had 100 plus days in my neck of the woods. 95 is hot to us. We have the nasty humidity too. Things will get better.

We went through the same thing with the AC several weeks ago. Thought it was the capacitor, but it ended up being the breaker outside. Luckily that was only $40. Oh, we did the front suspension and brakes on the Celica and it rides like a new car. Thanks again for it. I do enjoy these "day in the life of Randy" videos! 😂 but it does stink when you have problems. Hope everything gets better.

Im a land surveyor in NY and Oklahoma has the same Right of Entry laws as we do. The letter is just to be considerate, but surveyors don’t need your permission to access your property if surveying a neighboring parcel. Especially one involving the DOT or a main route. If that’s the highway referenced in front of your property the survey is going to involve locating the front area of your driveway and anything else along the right of way of the highway. Most people assume they own to the pavement, but 9 times out of 10 property stops another ten or so feet back into your grass. That’s the area they’re interested in.

A/Cs have capacitors for the compressor and the fan. It will quit when those caps go bad. I had the exact same problem last year. Fixed under our home warranty.

in that letter failing to respond is called 'implied consent', all they are going to do is walk around the property boundary with equipment and take readings, it's the next letter where they are going to offer you a pittance for 6 feet of your land for 'road improvements'

You are correct about it all being ass-backward. They should get permission in writing. I believe the county owns the land 16.5' from centerline of the road in either direction.

It is one of universal connectors on the steering shaft connecting your steering wheel to the rack and pinion not aligned and seated correctly.

Randy, run capacitors are very common to fail. I had both of mine go out at around the six months after install. It gets hot here in Las Vegas NV.

Love the channel Randy. Keep the 40 you will regret selling it later on. That is a beautiful car. I Like the SSR I had a friend who had one and it was a money pit he put more into it than it was worth. Finally gave up and sold it cheap just to get away from It. Platform is not that great.

So I see that your breaker box is against NEC being blocked by an appliance. I only mention that because I have been busted by that myself. Otherwise, your videos are great! The black fuse and the breaker may indicate a lightning strike.

A rag soaked in lacquer thinner or even gasoline softens that goo right up especially on a factory catalyzed paint job test on an area not visable if the cars been repainted but that usually does the trick

It's not the braker that goes to your ac but the third braker from the bottom on the left side of your braker box is tripped.

Randy did you check inside the truck at the bottom of the steering column? Usually a splined end at the end of the column. It might be loose and slid over a few teeth.

Lighter fluid. Ronsonol. Like attracts like. When you put oil in a plastic bag, it will leak thought he bag as it turns it to oil. If the glue is oil based, it will become soft.

Do you remember the old way of straighting a steering wheel? Take the cap off loosen the steering wheel nut set wheel straight and tighten back down. I did that to a 76 chevy luv pickup after hitting a curb really hard and it never gave me a bit of trouble. Sure something was bent underneath but I never found out what it was. Lol

the steering wheel shaft that runs in to the cab may not be tight. Try pulling the steering wheel column towards you when you are sitting in the cab. If it moves the bolts under the dash that holds it in place are lose.

They didn't center the rack. Take the shaft loose and turn the tires to the left one revolution in the pinion shaft. Hook it back up and check the steering wheel.

Man and I thought I had problems with my car lol. I just put a new starter in it. It was a bit of a pain just getting it to my mechanic. But now the darn thing has a bad positive battery cable and needs an oil change. She also needs a tire rotation which will be free. Ugh thinking about wanting to get a different car. But then again I am hoping once I get the cable fixed it will be good. Cause it is 2012 with 125,000 miles.

For the AC put a Kickstart in there also, the odds are the capacitor is bad. Those big capacitors receive a big jolt when the AC starts and that shortens their life. A kickstart limits the voltage to them when the AC starts so they do not wear out as fast.That is what I did. A kickstart costs around $20 also. HAHA Ordered 6 more of them, confident you are going to hit more stuff.
