Dear John: I recently went to Africa - Zimbabwe and Botswana to be exact. While there I played your beautiful song African Sunrise to the camp staff. I was truly awed by their knowing it was you singing. My heart bursted with so much love for these wonderful people who knew of a gifted American artist that had given me so much in his songs. You are loved, John, more than you know. You are very much missed every day. ❤️, Paula

@@whydidtheballooneatthefox282 Yes, he was very popular and very supportive of conservation of Mother Earth. I once went to his concert where all proceeds went to the preservation of the Amazon forest. He unfortunately was troubled, one reason why he took flying lessons and started flying his own planes. Sadly it lead to his tragic death. 😞

This was my mother's favorite song when we all got together to sing. She passed away on Aug 5. RIP Mom, RIP John. I'll never be able to sing this song without a tear in my eye.

Unbelievably blessed to have seen JD play live in concert five times, including his last ever concert in at the Royal Albert Hall in London in April 1997. Sadly just a few short months later he sadly passed away. Thank you for the music.❤️
