USA's "Burn Notice" has had a seven-season run, and Thursday's episode will be the last. Star Jeffrey Donovan tells TODAY that the show's cast and creators decided they wanted to shape its storyline to "end on our terms.
Everyone (on IMDB) is saying Jeffrey doesn’t “fit” as a cop and he’s “mis-cast” in Law and Order…PUHHHHH-LEASE…really?? Donovan makes MUCH more sense than Anthony Anderson as a cop - nothing against Anthony: he does well in what he’s made his fame in…he totally fits in a comedy such as “Blackish”, but Jeffrey Donovan can do it all…AND IMO, is a terrific cop…settle down, haters!!! What - is he too white, and too male for you woke-yards?😵💫🤦🏻♀️
I so miss burn notice. This show my all time favorite....I'm actually watchin it right now on Netflix this will be my 7th time watchin from season 1 like I said my favorite favorite show. Love all the characters n the actors. I watch other shows but nothing will ever come close like burn notice. I'm a burn notice addict
I'm still a "Burn Notice" fanatic! It is 2017...many new shows...yet, I still have to get my "Burn Notice" fix! Yeah, I stop counting the times I've gone through Netflix. USA just stopped showing it at 5:00 AM EST on Saturday morning!
To me Burn Notice honestly seems to be one of the greatest overall television shows. It has such a fantastic story arc throughout and I don't think there is a single episode that I would begrudge watching. Even one of my favourite shows of all time called FarScape, an Australian sci-fi from 1999, has episodes I would consider to be mediocre. I can't recall any from Burn Notice for which I could say the same.
Burn Notice had a sweet and sad ending, but so glad it had an ending. I always hate when a series ends unresolved because they thought they had another season coming, but got canceled.

I really felt like one more season was needed where he was acting on James' behalf with Sonya at his side and still working for the CIA simultaneously.. and *then* his friends save him..
I was kind of in the same boat as that SNL skit. I had seen ads for it, but never really took the time to watch it while it was on. It wasn't until the reruns started on ION that I took an interest in it, and I'm glad I did, and feel stupid for not doing so earlier.

Excellent show. I've binged this complete series too many times to keep track. Never caught it on cable, but when it went into syndication on free tv, one episode was all it took to get me to order the series on DVD. Great storytelling with a fantastic cast and an amazing set of guest stars and directors. The finale they're speaking of here should embarrass writers for other popular shows. I can't even watch the Friends finale. It's as if all the writing talent walked out in the prior season.
The ending was sweet? Christ almighty I sure didn't think so. If anything it was rather sad considering who died and HOW. I absolutely love this show but didn't care for the ending. That said, I kinda wish they would have ended the show by Michael and the gang going back to doing what they originally did after he got burned, which was helping people in the community. It would have been a really nice send-off had they all lived and went on with their lives TOGETHER, but I guess I'm too much of a traditionalist to want such crazy things as that . . .
Yeah, some of the last lines in the finale felt a bit forced to me and I was thinking, "Is this really what they're gonna be doing now?" But you know I still love the show for everything else it had to offer.
You summed my thoughts exactly! That’s precisely how things should have gone for the show. It wasn’t pleasant enduring the uber-melodramatic turn of events that have taken place in the last two seasons which were painful to watch.
All Fiona ever wanted was to be out and maddy wanted them out for Charlie so it wrapped up perfect and logical I just wonder if he ever gets to see Sam and Jessie again
@@mem1701movies I didn’t think Jesse threw off the dynamics at all. Initially, maybe, but he was integrated really well into the show. I kept watching through season 7, but the HUGE tonal shift between season 4 and season 5 was really jarring.
hear me out. micheal needs to get back in the game after years away. he has to refind his spark in the game and remeber how to be a spy the show comes back with micheal being much older. Micheal narrating : When your done being a spy there are things you miss, things u dont, and things you never forget. sometimes you have to get back in even when you dont want to.
I'm really happy that they did in fact get to go out on their own terms. They got to see their story to it's proper end, rather than get canceled and maybe see other actors/writers/networks pick it up and possibly bastardize it. It's the ending the characters deserved. Mike, Fi, and Charlie are safe and sound while Sam and Jesse are picking up where Mike left off.
For what ever reason, the show changed scorewriters around the 6th season . John Dickson was a much more talented composer than Toby Chu...and to this day cannot find an answer as to why they made this decision . I noticed it rather quickly...the only thing I can guess, is that they could no longer afford Dickson, or were looking for a more minimalist approach musically...since the shiow was slowly getting uglier .
Only new to this show. Firing through it. It is fantastic. Raced through suits , white collar and leverage. They may come back?. Get the drift🤔🤔🤔. Come on !!!
When shows are allowed to run their course like this they actually end well. (Are you hearing me consecutives and writers on those various train wrecks we've seen?)
Burn notice didn't end well though. The conflict should have been between the blonde woman and fi. Instead they made it about preventing Michael from taking over the organization from James. But running private operations with no oversight is exactly what him and his crew were doing the entire show. Why does having access to more finances suddenly make it evil? They should have done one more season with Michael running the organization and then his friends could pull him back. But there was no reason for them to try and stop him. It was a lazy end to a fantastic show.
This is a show that they should have put more effort in from the start. By the end it was actually really good. First seasons were boring and "fillery" (95% of the show wasn't developing the main storyline in any way) to me. The highlights of those episodes were the pseudo-spy job guide ("we use bad phones as bugs because they don't cancel out the surroundings"). I really enjoyed those narrations throughout. It gave a different depth, it's common for action shows to simply throw magical gadgets at you. Even if everyone knows what a bug is it feels better to have some idea of what the universe of the show demands of itself. It allows for more critical thinking concerning the situations and I really like that. Most of the time the show doesn't leave many possibilities for the viewer. The decisions the characters make are few given the circumstances and priorities of the characters. Season 7 episode 2 for instance (spoilers). The hostage situation doesn't have a good alternative solution. You're not left thinking "oh but why didn't they do this instead, that's better" regardless of how unqualified that statement may be by the viewer it's distracting. All of this is necessary to have a world that's as open as burn notice be believable and pleasant to watch. It's very well done.
Great show for sure, but one that very well could've flown under alot of peoples radar. But then again that aspect can speak on the fact of how good and unique it was. as not to follow the same dog feed as the rest of the shows out their peddling the same routine. Burn Notice did take key aspects of the many shows that tried but failed. 90's South Beach starring Yancy Buttler was a very similar premise look and style. That Miami Vice / Espionage / spy world / good guy setup to look turned bad proven hero theme. All with the light hearted backdrop of the miami florida lifestyle. Miami vice meets Sherlock Holmes meet Miguiver.
A great show because it is so entertaining, yet informative in some aspects. However, when this happens in real life ( someone getting "burned" with employment, life etc) it is NOT entertaining nor a laughing matter.
