But then, he maybe remembered, that he still had something left in the morning mousey.... Glamour looked very much ready for some "kitty-sweets" - but when time passed, and Todd just wanted some cuddles - Glamour moved away.... "Not then...." - The bonus Glamour was so cute!
I think you are right that Todd wanted Help with his Mousey, because he went right over to it after you had stopped petting him. And it's so sweet when he tells you he's Happy. Glamour's kitten video was adorable! 😊
This one is a mystery. Whatever he needed help with wasn’t urgent. I found it super interesting how Pauline and Glamour are clueing in that Todd is able to effectively communicate with you...either they too wanted ‘help & comfort’ or know that Todd can activate your treat giving. I think you are spot on with your guess about the mousy and his kibble. About 1:25 when your hand moved near the mousy he pricked his ears. And at 1:29 he stared at the kibble dispenser. Such a huge concession by Glamour!!! At 1:46 she make a start at grooming Todd's tail.
My puppy played with the puppy of a speech pathologist yesterday. I convinced her to buy Fluent pet, as she’s about to retire soon. She said those buttons have been an amazing tool for her students!. 🥰

Just a guess, but maybe Todd knows you will come right away when he says help, and he had knowledge from the other two that they wanted attention as well. Because you were swarmed as soon as you answered his help call, by all three! He is so kind and generous to his housemates, I wouldn't put it past him. Looks like Glamour had to grow into her tail! That's a big, fluffy tail for 3mo old!

Todd is the most cuddly. Paulie loves to be petted, and Glamour is Spicy. Unless you are sure of her mood, it's best to ask permission before touching.
At the start of the video look where Todd is looking. Then right before he walks over to the help button. I think he looks where his fishy treats are. Then, as others have mentioned when he realized he had some treaties still in his mousey that became a viable solution.
6:27 New Subbie here! I also sub to other dogs and cats online using these buttons. Here's my thing: I don't care if it is a push-reward response. It's another way to communicate with our fur babies. FWIW? I think it starts out that way, but ends up more as human and animal learn together. P.S. Todd should be getting a kickback bc the other 2 cats obviously realize that they don't have to learn a 2nd language! Just hang out when Todd hits the buttons and something good usually happens for all. 😂❤ -🌴 just me in Palm Springs 🌴
Hi Greg! Thanks for the video. A classic case of responding to the first button he pressed too soon, I think. Maybe if you’d waited, he’d have said what he wanted help with. Anyway, whatever it was can’t have been bothering him too much or he’d have tried asking for help again but instead asked for cuddles and we got to hear his motor ❤ Then he pressed happy so clearly all was right with the world by then 😃 Thanks for the bonus kitten video of Glamour, too 😻
It’s interesting to see which animals can and do “point” or respond to human pointing, and which don’t. One thing I’ve noticed with cats is that they do often “gesture” with quite soft, subtle moves, like body orientation or looking at something. They don’t seem to know like some dogs do, how to catch your eye and do a “meaningful look” at whatever it is they want you to pay attention to - yet they often do still look, but sometimes very briefly. Or lead you in its general direction. Or just they drift nearer to it, but looking at you instead of it.

lol It looked like you called it with the mousey being the help target. That Glamour clip is adorable, it reminded me of a cat we rescued and fostered out. He'd been stuck in a cone for months, and when he was finally free, his tail was his favorite toy. We made a video about his time with us up to his adoption. That was interesting to speculate on Todd’s use of the Help button. For use humans it might mean an emergency or urgent problem like his use of the Ouch button. But here he did not seem too stressed, so your observation about help with getting the last kibble out of his Mousey makes a lot of sense. Guess we will need mor videos of his using Help to see what this button means to him. Thanks for the kitten bow of Glamour! Was she an only kitty at this time?
The only thing he was doing just before he said “help”, was flexing his claws…might have been a caught claw-though it was not at all clear. Then the other cats distracted him maybe he forgot what he wanted help with? Later he got his mouse treats but that was a while later!
Seemed to me it was a issue they seemed to think did not need immidiate attension or even attension at all could be he ment something he or the two others needed help with later on
I wonder if Todd is trying to figure out what "help" means, exactly. He didn't seem in any distress. He knows you'll come over if he asks for help. I'm sure you'll all sort it out. The Glamour home movie was cute - they have such fun when they're little. :) Everything is fascinating.
After watching the video just before he asked for help he was trying to get the last of the kibble out of his Mousey. I think he was asking for me to help him get it out.
Yes, he has ouch and body parts buttons. He has used them to let me know there was an issue with his mouth in the past which the vet confirmed and fixed.
We have to really pay attention to what they are saying and work with them on how to say it. Most cats communicate very well without the aid of buttons.
