Its easy to put up and act and go back to a separate house then become your usual self a while. You are right, about the aspect people cant do this forever but people can most definitely do it for years if they get time apart to repeatedly prep themselves to hide the nasty habits. When you're up in the same house together its impossible, they eventually become their usual self. I wasn't referring to a broken relationship where someone willingly accepts a bad deal, I was referring to the potential of being full on mislead. There's plenty of stories and people who talked about a person they dated being completely different till they got married and lived together; then they saw the bad side.

No ... it's not. People eventually show their true selves within 30 days of dating. Going "back to their home" is not an accurate indicator.

But the last straw pushed me to leave him and he started threatening to kill himself and I told him well then good luck. I’m in a 6 year healthy relationship with a man that my ex will never even amount an ounce of. She can do better and she should. This isn’t like cars at all. You need money for cars. You need a whole different things for relationships.
