Great interview. Set the subject up, and let them go, without interrupting. Nice to see Tod reflecting, and not just hustling. I felt I met the real Tod a little bit. Happy New Year
Grande Tood. The first time I saw his art was when the Hulk comic arrived in Brasil. It was a wonderful insight into characters that I hadn't yet experienced.
Happy New Year!!! Spawn 31 was the first comic I bought as a preteen and it went completely out of control from there. It was Todd's are, Greg Capullo, and Tony Daniels that really inspired me to continue to develop my own skills. Only recently have I gotten back into it and that cover art is still inspiring though the interior has changed.
Todd is the Michael Jordan of comic books man, a super talented guy who based on likeness and name alone created an empire which paid him more than his day job probably ever would with the toys and stuff, and he's also the first person who will tell you to quit bitching and grow some nuts. there's a reason image has survived to this day
i can't tell you how grateful i am that cartoonist kayfabe exists and that you guys are doing the anthropology youre doing and making the books youre making.
This is how we start the year. LFGGGG Thanks to all three of you for the vid and thank you for holding down on the comics front so constantly. Make More Comics
Of all the interviews I've heard with him, I think it's the first time I heard him include directly his co-founders regarding credit. I could be wrong, of course but the tone was a little different. Thanks again!
Thanks for another great interview with the Toddfather. Of all my artistic influences (which there are many) he is one of my favorites to listen to, I love his no-nonsense, get to work attitude.
Absolutely stellar interview. I love Todd. Is he arrogant? Yes. Can he come off as an ass hole? Yes. Does he love talking about himself? Yes. I’m here for ALL OF IT. The dude is a legend, a smart af businessman and knows his shit. So jealous you guys get to speak with him but so blessed you do it to share with all of us. Thank you 🙏
Great question Ed about the book a week. I loved Todds response about how he could adjust the story to compensate for unavoidable dealys artist face, how he would adjust the setting to make the deadline easier to meet.
Yea this just feels different. His brain isn't in work mode like the last time. He's talking differently like... idk this just makes me love the man more. It was like therapy lol
on a side note todd sign off on the wolf of wall street styled image movie I know damn well there's an awesome movie to be made out there of yall living like rockstars railing lines on uncolored spawn pages lmfao
