LOL on Glamour turning her back to your suggestion! 😅 I love Glamour's comments as she enters or passes by. Makes it known that Her Majesty has arrived!
Watching you and Todd together has made realize how much they really want from us, but can’t tell us. Now when my cat stares at me, I’m running through a list of activities in my mind and trying to throw them all at him at once. He’s 16. I wish I knew you and Todd many years ago. You’re an inspiration. I would have tried it.
@@TheChroniclesofToddToddTalks Thank you! Maybe I will try it for his sake. He’s very intelligent and finds ways to communicate. We call him the evil genius. He was once half evil, half angel, but at this point in his life, he’s all angel.
Todd has ideas for Dad before Dad even enters the Home! I love that walk Cats use when they are returning a toy to a Pet parent or Friend to have tossed again; not quite a strut, not a Prance, but certainly proud and spiffy, a "Look at me, I have the Toy!" walk. Todd certainly is using it as Dad plays Jingle Ball with him. Glad Dad is home and the Kitties are happy again, even Glamour misses Dad, she just does not display it the way Todd does.
Todd's 'attack' was so cute. Awww, he rolled on his side too. He's feeling good today. You're lucky he brings the toy back. My cat used to have me throw it and then watch me go get it. That was the real game. LOL
I just love to watch you and Todd playing Jingle Ball. He clearly enjoys it so much. And it made me smile when Glamour gave you her back. She's so independent!
Todd really takes pride in being commended for his hunting skills, both when hunting Dad and when hunting his Jingle ball. Orbs of sadness are not worth any hunting skills. ❤❤❤🇸🇪
I think upon seeing you home Todd became so happy and a little over stimulated. It took a minute to settle for brushing. Todd is truly amazing and so full of trust and love. You are truly such a good dad. Blessings to you both. Oh, and Glamour and Paulie as well. Enjoy the time as it passes so quickly.
Hi Dad. Welcome home. I can see Todd thinking in his facial expressions. I love watching you and all the kitties. You are so sweet when you explain things to them. Thanks for warming my heart. I love your channel.
Your kittes are so adorable, and beautiful. Cats really bring feelings of love and life into a home. Thank you for this video. Pure enjoyment throughout.
I sensed that when Todd initially began walking away from being brushed, it was only because he was very excited that you were home, that it was just energetic excitement that required him to move, and that he fulfilled that need much more by chasing his Jingle Ball. Before Todd, I never knew that cats could or would play Fetch. When I first saw that many moons ago, it surprised me. Thank you for sharing your content.
Todd is so sweet. If I had a talk pad 1 of my 2 boys would just hit the treats button all day :) Both my guy are pretty smart, I think 1 could def learn buttons for words. Then there is me who doesn't have the umph to do it so I'll just enjoy Todd.
I always watch Todd whenever videos come across. It makes me want to get buttons for my girl, but I live in a small studio apartment, and simply don't have the floor space for more than a single button mat.
I discovered your channel yesterday, and Im so amazed by this!! Animals can talk to us and they learn so fast! Greatest thing ever! And Todd is marvellous!
I am grateful for your interaction with Todd, maybe now non-cat folk will start to appreciate the joy of relationships between themselves and a fabulous feline! ❤
so neat seeing you and Todd interact , you two have a special bond! thank you for sharing. yes you have to keep a close eye on Todd so he does not get hurt!
Wow! It’s a good thing you came home when you did! Much more time to build up its strength and that vicious jingle ball would have escaped its confine and run rampant about the house! It’s a good thing you and Todd were there to teach it a lesson! Look at all the time it almost escaped the valiant jingle ball hunter! Good hunter!
Good Sunday morning to you Dad and Todd. Our feline friends and I love watching. We live in Western North Carolina and have water , power and limited cell service. Can't wait for the Internet to catch up.
I wish my cat would fetch like Todd does! He understands the concept of bringing me a toy when he wants to play, but returning it after it was thrown is apparently too much effort.
Seeing Todd jump like that scared me. With my Gunnie having FHV I know how the landing failure is - Gunner just a few minutes jumped off the bed and landed on his side.
I think Todd's real answer to the question, " What Todd want to do?" is simply to just have MORE DAD!!! That was a great between the legs attack Todd! Very scary!
I find it interesting Glamour’s behaviour when she sits with her back to you. I wonder if this is just a female trait - we have a boy and girl cat, the boy is very attentive and craves attention much like Todd, and will make eye contact and meow for pets (we don’t have a talking board for him). But our female cat is very much like Glamour, in that way she does not like to make eye contact as much, will often only do so f from across the room and if dozing. She will come and sit very close though, facing away and be perfectly content to not be touched or interact with but will purr incredibly loudly just by being near.
I don't think it is a female trait because my female cat is rather like the description you give for your male cat. She's not aloof at all, opinionated, yes, but not 'independent,' and doesn't have her back to me that much, but instead makes a lot of eye contact, and is very socially engaged. She purrs a great deal, including just at proximity.
Watching Todd's ears as he runs through all his options. When he started to walk away from the brush I was wondering if he temporarily forgot about his COMB button
We had Baby Kitten up to 10 words! But we lost power for 8 days here in SC and had to run down to Florida to stay with my mother. She’s not using her words much since we got back home :(
Give her time. Reassure her everything is okay now and she is safe. Todd is not himself for a week after the 4th of July, and that is just fireworks. You all went through a terrible thing. Try to do normal things with her and give her love and reassurance, and I bet she will come around.
When Glamour walked across the board, I thought she pressed "Glamour"... but then I played it back and realized that was Dad saying her name... she was careful to avoid any buttons.
First of all: I really enjoy your channel. Todd is marvellous. I don't think I've commented before. But I think that Todd is favouring his left hind leg a bit when bringing back the jingle ball, so here goes my 'lurking' status. It might be nothing new/nothing to worry about, but I figured I'd mention it as I'd have wanted it pointed out to me if Todd were my cat.
Thank you, I always appreciate Todd's friends keeping an eye on him. Todd has a couple of chronic medical conditions. One of them can affect his balance. You may see him appear to limp, wobble, trip, or even just fall over if he tries to stand on his back legs. Never be worried about expressing a concern you see about Todd's health.
I got the sense that Todd wanted to include Glamour or Paulie in the fun Jingle ball play! Glamour wanted something from you when she came over… maybe all Todd to help you figure out what Glamour does want. She seems like she’s disgusted because I think she thinks you should know what she wants…
@@TheChroniclesofToddToddTalks My cat was friends with my last dog (American Bulldog Libby died in Dec. 2021 with cancer), but cat truly enjoys being an only pet now. She has me all to herself, and she loves that.
I have a request. My eyesight isn't great. When y put words on the screen could they be in a bright color like pink or blue, or could they stay on the screen longer? They disappear before I finish reading.
I confirm that, I, too, could use the text a little longer. I often find myself backing up to read it. As someone who has edited video before, I can confirm that it is really difficult to find text colors that show up. I end up putting text in boxes with a flat background color, but this can look clunky and unprofessional. I feel the dilemma!
Just an FYI - black lettering on a white background is supposed to be the easiest to see/read, per a course I took in college. (The Nurse As Educator) Todd is a brainiac! I just love watching him use his word buttons. Love to all three of your cats. 😻😻😻
A solution I came up with for such situations: Hit Pause when the text first appears, read through it at a comfortable pace, then hit Play and watch the action. Whether or not this is doable may depend on the device you are using...
Bunnies do the same "talk to my back, I'm not even going to LOOK at you until you earn forgiveness, you lowly hooman!" Treatment. Maybe you have to grovel more for being gone on the trip first. Is Glamour part rabbit secretly? They have that attitude too! 😂 But in this case, to me it looks more like she just wants to keep an eye on the stairs guarding for some reason. So it could be the opposite really, she may want to make sure to keep Mom from you now that you're back where you belong. But Todd wants to play and probably chose JB to be near her always hoping she may join, which backfired. Curious if when he took The One True Jingle Ball downstairs and stayed, did he go near Glamour again?
I've barely ever spent time with rabbits, & I thought they were either very shy or playful & bouncy- I _never_ imagined they'd do the back-turn of utter disdain like a cat, but it's adorable & freaking hilarious. What do bunnies see as an unforgiveable crime?
Glamour doesn't want a brush coz you brush the spine and older cats can't handle it. Their bones are not so good. Looks like Todd is getting a bit that way too, moving away when you keep brushing it. I saw it with my own elderly cat too but then I watched Vancouver Vets channel and he did a video on how to brush older cats.
Is it an optical illusion or is Todd limping a little? It might just be the camera angle, but he appears to be favoring his front left paw while returning with the ball. I know he has balance issues, but I haven't seen/noticed this in other videos. 🤷♀
I really wonder about the metal prong brushes being to hard on the skin. I notice that Todd rolls to the side the backbone protrudes more. I tried different variations of brushes/combs with my cats. Small beaded human hairbrushes and the comb for lice removal gained the best reactions . I notice that cats tend to avoid the brush along the spine (boniest). Matts always work from bottom.
I think Todd and most cats want slower more gentle brushing. Obviously he loves your attention, but that's what I think every time. Also, the other cats of course want attention and activities but perhaps they don't want to fight for it when they see so much being given to one. There are clearly some dynamics going on. Todd clearly seems the winner, not knowing what happens the rest of the day.
We have to remember that we don't see but mere minutes for the sake of our learning about Todd using his buttons. There are 23 hours and 50 minutes left of every day when the other cats get all the attention they want and need. I think that given the demeanor of their caretaker, we don't need to fret that Glamour and Paulie aren't getting their fair share. I think you're right about cats preferring slower, gentler brushing. Being delicate animals, I think they value gentleness across the board.
When the US allows free breeding of certain animals and people takes these animals into their lives they should have utmost responsibility, just like human children. This man is one of many helping to show the intelligence of "domesticated animals" and also shows how much effort it takes to try and give them a good life. Just like humans. I have familiarity with cats and just wanted to share I think they like gentle touch, maybe more fingers dancing instead of plain pets, lighter brushes on the chin, etc. Like a massage. 💆♀️ 💆♂️
Yeah, that kitten-like behavior took me by surprise... never saw him do that before! I think he was just so happy and excited Dad was home... and maybe "catching" his legs to keep him there? 🤷
