I know. She's great! She's been dancing in the same spot since when I came to Galway in 1974. She used to dance outside Woolworths back then too. She worked on Devaney 's stalls selling candle wax and matchsticks on Saturdays.
Tris, this is taken on Shop Street in Galway City Centre, a wonderful place to see street performers and taste the delights of Ireland. I highly recommend you put a visit here on your bucket list. 💚☘️🌿
I live in Ireland and was in Galway two years ago on a Thursday afternoon and a group of ladies from America were singing along with buskers on the street and I loved it. I'm in Dublin, but I always love the west of teh country
There are plenty of wholesome videos online. Just gotta type them into RU-vid. Negative stuff is always pushed at us, but doesn't mean we can't fight back with positivity.
@@eiforget I agree! I was in Galway nearly 2 years ago, in May of 2019, and I remember that street corner...wonderful musicians out and people dancing in the streets. I can't wait to go back.
When I was depressed about my cancer diagnosis, I saw Emma O’Sullivan and realized a world with such beauty, artistry and such a ready smile is worth hanging out in for a while longer. Thanks Emma!
That is adorable !!! You see how children can enjoy every moment of life , and they seem not to care if people are watching them ..we as adults could learn from these precious angels. ....we would enjoy our life much more.....
They're not a seperate species. We were and are them. It can be crippeling if you care too much and let others dictate the way you walk or dance! To heck with them, LET'S DANCE!
remember when we could go outside in the street and just dance around, without having to worry about bringing home a deadly plague? good times, good times....
ugh...let it rest. We get it...it's rough now. Remember when you could watch a video without everybody pouring water over it with every thought in their head that seemed absolutely critical to express every single moment of every single day?
@@ThomasFromTN lmao man am I not allowed to express my sadness? I've been practically trapped in my home for the past year. I miss going outside and seeing beautiful moments like this.
So many negative comments - when this was such a beautiful video of a well trained dancer having fun dancing and a sweet little toddler imitating her. Life is Good!
And don't feel scared to do so! Did something similar at an Irish pub in Amsterdam once when a live band played there and a few professional dancers attended as well. Though I really took Irish dance classes back then already, I think I got just a little bit more loose because of my pint of cider (for someone like me, who isn't used to alcohol... a pint is a lot). First people just started cheering as I decided to take the small stage, but when people noticed I could actually do something, they went crazy (I genuinely suspect A LOT of the people there were incredibly tipsy if not drunk already) It was a fun experience and I don't regret it ;)
I know a man who plays violin for an orchestra, and he gets paid well. He plays on the street sometimes because it's his passion, but the stress level is so much lower.
My daughter and I lived in Galway for 5 months throughout the summer of 2017 and pretty much saw this gal dancing in this very spot on Shop Street every day. Great place to grab coffee and a lemon muffin at Costa Coffee and watch street performers before dipping your toes in the River Corrib near the Spanish Arch...I ❤️ Ireland! ☘️
So heartwarming. You just want to smile and wish them all the best. Bless them. that is life when we can all smile along together. Music is so powerful.
I lived there on the green door for 7 years. Every time go out watching Emma show & many Artist from all around the World. Beautiful City & People. I'm still live here. God Bless Ireland & the Irish !!! Greetings & all the best from Galway: Renzo * The Italian... :-)
The little one dancing is as cute as can be. As a child I was always dancing around the house to whatever music was playing. My folks encouraged me and enrolled me for tap, ballet and ballroom dancing lessons. If I had spotted an Irish dancer on the streets then, I'd likely be dancing right along with her!!
@DayStar38 I've seen you shitting on multiple people's comments in enjoyment of this now. You are not just a troll, there is something seriously wrong with you.
And this is how it starts... thank you for bringing a smile on my face for the day. I’ve passed it on to several friends because we can all use a little happiness in the day. Happy Spring to all...
The toddler didn't have to worry about "so many people." Her full attention was on watching & dancing with O'Sullivan! Two feisty, rhythmic ladies. Bravo! 👏 👏
I worked in Dublin for about 6 months, and traveled all over via train on weekends and holidays. If you haven't been there, I hope with all of my heart you will be able to visit in the future. Music and mirth are around every corner.
Everyone I know who’s had kids tells me it’s exhausting and frightening and love to vent, but ultimately will say it’s the most satisfying and gratifying decision they’ve ever made.
@@MintyUniverse0 Lol it’s definitely dependent on the person, and I do think the world would be a better place if those who wanted kids had them and those who didn’t did not. Most parents would definitely disagree with the notion that you get “nothing” in return, though.
Lovely video! The baby is so cute!😚 Hello from Russia! I like Irish dancing😍 my friends danced that, even they are russians. This dance has some cool spirit 👍
From this little child we can learn many . It has fun in this moments with dancing to the music and not think , why people laughing . The child is one with the music and dancing .
It differs ;) Sometimes people trying to copy Irish dance just make a total joke about it but because it's very clear they do so and it thus is funny, I don't mind it. If someone really gives it their his or her best effort, who cares if it looks shite. But if someone really tries to copy it, is shite at it while trying to look like a pro, that's when it gets a bit 'confusing' for me ;) Conan's try at Irish dance with the Trinity dancers is one of those 'confusing' examples: I know he's a kind of comedian or whatever he is and I sure like the way he's taking the piss at the whole Irish dance thing, but boy would I have loved to see him really giving Irish dance his best try. Many people (and especially males) are just afraid to expose themselves I think. And I can understand, as most classes on 'The Continent' (Europe, The Netherlands in my case, don't think the US is different) usually don't feature a bunch of people that all start Irish dance on the same day for the very first time, but have students ranging from absolute beginners to Intermediate (yes, I'm a Commission dancer). When you see an advanced Intermediate doing his or her thing, I can totally understand you feel discouraged when you have the hardest time mastering the most basic 1-2-3. But it's the people that manage to deal with that disappointment that make it through to the more complex dances: I've seen many people entering the classes wishing to start Irish dance, but not all of them manage to overcome all the disappointments Irish dance can (and will!) throw at you, with some giving up after just a few classes as just getting to heavy shoes can be a real challenge. I always say to myself that they aren't ready yet and it could be they will be in a few years or so. Don't give up on your dreams! I started when I was 23 and I'm still dancing and made my way to Intermediate by now, a level I never expected to be even able to reach when I started 10 years ago.
