How does Todo have Boogie Woogie back and what was his binding vow? Thumbnail Art by Moee: x.com/_moee09/status/17912731... Discord: / discord #jjk #todo #vibraslap #boogiewoogie #bindingvow #jjk260 #manga #jujutsukaisen #manganimist
I was expecting either a normal prostethic hand or a mechanical arm from Mechamaru's leftovers, but of course the Schizo King would do something much more silly that makes him 50x more powerful 😭
It’s not an accident. The video doesn’t say 260 spoilers, and if you haven’t read 260 you wouldn’t have seen the vibraslap yet, so it would be a spoiler. If you care about not being spoiled, you want to have read up to 261 for this video. But I also went and searched haha.
did you not see 261 already? it was the chaper after gojo came back and sukuna punched him for dying, but kissed him for comming back saying "This was truly our jujutsu Kaisen".
I like that we have 2 characters in series that have some sort of teleportation, Ui Ui and Todo, but both their techniques (even if the fundamental idea of teleportation is the same) work so vastly different and they still have their own different parameters. Man, this manga is amazing.
I think Todo's use of boogie woogie while his arm is bandaged is meant to show that the vibraslap isn't necessary to use his technique, but is instead merely a way to heighten it. If that's the case, then it means that Todo has expanded his interpretation of his technique to include "the act of applause" as his activation trigger. So it's more about his perception of what he considers to be an act of applause. The vibraslap has been added as a replacement for his original clap, but it's possible that Todo has a number of other ways to 'applaud' now, potentially even something as mundane as a cheer or gesture. I think that will become important; maybe Sukuna will successfully manage to destroy the vibraslap, assuming that doing so will have crippled Todo's technique, only for Todo to reveal that he let Sukuna destroy it to convince him of his victory and lower his guard to the potential of boogie-woogie.
I just imagine Todo being like "SUKUNA, YOU HAVE HEARD THESE WORDS BEFORE THROUGH YUJI'S BODY.. THE CLAP IS THE ACLAMATION OF THE SOUL!!!" then he gets Sukuna to fry his brain from the amount of absolute brain messing Todo is doing to him by saying that "If he could do it with that instrument then maybe he's actually not bluffing.. but if he could, would he do it?? Or maybe he will do it as a bluff behind a bluff behind a bluff.. or mayb- *gets black flashed*"
To be clear Todo is rapidly switching Sukuna, himself, and Yuji around making it extremely difficult for Sukuna to determine when the switching will stop. This is compared to a roulette wheel (which if you listen to a vibraslap actually sounds somewhat like a short and fast roulette wheel). Gege couldn't stop with pachinko he had to add in a roulette technique.
Around 50 swaps per second! That's crazy! Gege better explain how Todo able to do that without drying his CE out in seconds, not to mention the sheer control required. Otherwise, it's just BS. Also, why Sukuna didn't use Amplification😭 it's a great opportunity to make use of it for actual CT nullifying stuff, and NOT JUST as a CONVENIENT TOOL for Infinity problem🙄.
@@taruditarudi7373 fair point. could be multiple reasons. for instance, DA only works if your output is greater than enemy's output. currently, todo's output might actually be higher than sukuna's, like how gojo overwhelmed hanami's DA, or sukuna was still cutting higuruma through DA. or sukuna's output after getting hit by yuji's black flashes might be so low he can't even use DA at the moment.
@@taruditarudi7373That's only at MAX, Todo can reduce the amount through binding vow and put it at other parameters like Number of Targets and Maximum range, AND he can tweak these parameters each time he uses it.
Todo was able to use Boogie Woogie without taking off his bandages by using someone/something else's hand(or hand equivalent) to activate it. He changed the activation from clapping HIS hands to the vibraslap but he can also activate Boogie Woogie by slapping another person's hand, it even worked with a curse spirit. He could have high fived Ui UI's hand or the wing from one of Mei Mei's crows.
Todo's not an idiot. If he can change the condition from clapping to being this demented cowbell metrinome abomination thing, than you know he's at least tried to change the condition to being snapping his fingers, I think the cowbell thing while it has its utility is a bait and switch. Todo is the quintessential sorcerer, and the best sorcerer's always lie.
The big brain play would be to work the vibraslap into the soundtrack. All new battle theme, written specifically for that fight, syncing the audio of the vibraslap with the animation.
of course he gets overwhelmed, todo's bw didn't even have a downside, while sukuna had to tank the debuffs of the 2 bw he did (fuga only in domain or in 1v1s, and wcs requiring chanting and a pose).
@@SamElZombie The downside is trying his technique to the item's vibrations rather than clapping. Meaning, if you damage the wooden box such that the teeth can no longer vibrate, then his technique dies again, returning to normal clap activation.
@@HalohbotTech do you call that downsides? He made 2 binding vows (at least) one so he can use his technique again, and other to swap multiple people at once, and you're telling me that the only dowside is the exact same he had before this? Because as we've already seen, if todo's hands get damaged he can no longer use boogie woogie. Sukuna had to add chants and a handsign to boost an ability once and everyone calls it a fraud, but when todo gets 3 buffs with no dowside then nobody bats an eye.
With the author comment, I think Gege made it so Todo was unwrapping his bandage purely for anticipation for the next chapter and surprise when we saw it. The author comment I think was him making a joke about that, and confirming he had already used it prior to
One thing we know about Gege is that he loves referencing other manga to enhance heightened moments in his story. This is the third time Todo and Yuji together have turned the tide on a major antagonist with the false activation of Boogie Woogie, which is a callback to Naruto and Sasuke on three different occasions transforming Naruto and a shadow clone into a object that is thrown by Sasuke as a feint. It’s absolutely brilliant and it makes these triumphant moments even better in my opinion because it reminds me of that feeling I had the first time I read Naruto.
I think Gege is just self-jabbing at his own inconsistency. basically "how did todo use his technique when the instrument was all bandaged up? it shouldn't be possible!"
So lemme get this straight: Todo just binding vows his way out of having lost his CT and somehow makes it 100x stronger with basically no downsides and Hakari can cut off his hand to "save" his own life and people have a problem with Sukuna nerfing himself forever for one sneak attack on Gojo ?? The double standards are crazy man, the heroes use binding vows with no downside (except for Miwa) and sukuna gets all the hate.
yeah. sukuna is repeatedly said to be the strongest and yet he had to nerf himself to kill gojo. giving such high regard and doing something like that makes him seem weaker. not weak
exactly. I still don't understand the problem people have with Sukuna's binding vows. The King of Curses is in it to win it, plus, nobody is stopping the Sorcers from making Binding Vows. Sukuna is experienced and intelligent enough to make effective Binding Vows in the heat of battle. We see what happened to Miwa when she tried it, bless her useless heart, although, Hakari was able to effectively do it
Well there is one massive downside: his dependence on the vibraslap. It's way more fragile than his hand and if it's damaged it's very likely he can't swap back to using Boogie Woogie one handed, at least bit without a cost. He's also had ample time to adapt and refine this new form of Boogie Woogie; upwards of several months, depending on how quickly you think he recovered in Shibuya. Hakari's BV was a massive gamble. Sacrificing his hand means he can't use DE which means no auto RCT. It becomes even crazier when we learn there was no guarantee he was getting that hand back, since he could've negatively responded to Shoko or Yuta using RCT on him. I do agree the Sukuna BV hate is a bit much, but the World Slash BV is probably the 2nd most liked, behind Enchain. People had much more of an issue with the domain BV.
Whats happening is ppl are realizing binding vows are the writers get out of jail free card, but when it happens for the good guys they get distracted by hype
@@johanvarghese5399 Sukuna's plan against Gojo all revolved around overcoming Gojo's infinity, to do that he needed Mahoraga's adaptation. It's not that he was holding back something that could have taken Gojo out. There was nothing in his skill set, Heian form and flame arrow (too slow to catch Gojo) included, that could accomplish it.
what if the vibraslap is not even needed at all, and is just misdirection. that would explain how he did the crow swaps with it still bandaged, and would be an insane psyche out to catch Sukuna off guard
Maybe he can use any percussion instrument to activate it, not only his vibraslap and the previous activations were done with other instruments. He just has the prosthetics because it makes it easier to activate on-the-go
I don't know if it matters but in the note it says the use of his technique, not his use of the technique. Maybe that was Yuta using Todo's technique. Probably not, but food for thought
I think Todo is still able to activate while bandaged by shaking his arm - since the bottom part of the instrument is like a container for the vibrating metal. Then he revealed it after showing up to allow him to maximize the vibrations per second, and demonstrate his technique to his opponent making it stronger
I think the vibraslap is a cursed tool todo imbued with his technique. There is not many instances of cursed tools being made. The closest and only thing I can think of in the manga is Nanami's cleaver. His 7:3 ratio technique was used with the cleaver enough that it lasted after his death and is able to be used by Ino and others.
I wonder if there’s an actual reason todo needs to tear off his shirt or unwrap the bandages before a battle begins. Is it a form of ‘showing ones hand’? 👏
3:48 I think it means Todo has another means of swapping aside from the vibraslap. Perhaps he can click his tongue or slap a part of his body to make a noise. If that's the case title be a nice switch up at since point down the line.
What if todo has a 2nd vibraslap? He used the first one to get everyone out of the domain, then hid it away so that sukuna wouldn't know about it. Since having two of those things constantly going off would be too huge of a trade for a binding vow, maybe he can switch which one is in use? That way he can preform boogie woogie without using the one on his hand to trip up sukuna even more
you cant convince me that todo aint make his cheeks clap to pull them swaps before he unbandaged his arm with a cursed technique called "boogie woogie" he gotta be able to throw it back
Maybe he has a second vibraslap. One that he just holds in his “good” hand and used the first two times. Since these were non-combat scenarios, he just left his left hand wrapped so he wouldn’t have to go through the process of wrapping it all over again for concealment or protection until necessary
All I know or sure is that my heart breaks for those who may have to animate this one day. Having at least 3 characters all swinging, flipping, and jumping around while swapping positions 50+ times per second with the special effects and such on top of it all, while also still keeping it consistent enough to not look muddy and messy will be a herculean task. Like the original Hanami v Todo and Itadori fight on steroids
one thing to note is the Vibra Slap's rattle lasts longer than 1 second and it looks like todo is hitting it really hard giving it even more rattle time so whats stopping todo from stunlocking sukuna for as long as he wants?
my theory is that gojo is going to come back as a puppet with other souls (yuta and maybe higoruma or someone else) with the help of uiui's technique because it was foreshadowed since yaga's death with how to create aמ automatic puppet
Good thing he boost his processing ability or this ability might be useless. I don't even know how Yuji keeps up but imagine having to keep up with a fight, be aware of everything around you, and know how and when to utilize it while still throwing hands. That's ALOT of information to constantly keep up with. Environmental awareness, reaction time, concentration, predicting movement, alot of moving parts.
You gotta review the new chapter scans of 260, gojos face is more visible and the top part of his face is completely disfigured and his eye is clearly missing, he took the binding vow , Gojo is BACK !!!
Since Todo's arm was bandaged during the DE swap I'm curious if he didn't activate it exactly at that time. Maybe Todo can use Boogie Woogie on a timer or on certain conditions. Like "When Sukuna expands his domain swap these 3 targets" and so his CT is active but not going off right away.
I think he wrapped up his hand so he can hit sukuna with the ultimate REVEALING ONE'S HAND binding wow thus making it even more broken I swear if that is the actual reason imma die of laughter
even when bandaged, the metal piece inside will rattle upon simply shaking his hand. He could have simply shaked his arm, I guess. He doesn't get 50 in a second then but just shaking it would be enough I guess?
I wonder, does Todo make the activation the ball hitting rather than his hand hitting because he knows he can do it easily? Or is it the mere fact that it’s difficult to do (the instrument is specifically designed for the ball *not* to hit) what *allows* for it to be used as a new activation?
I wonder if the fact that the vibraslap is now the medium or tool his technique is performed through it plays into boosting the power of boogie woogie If that principle could be applied like how nanami normally channels his technique through his blade and his necktie but never through his own fists as far as I remember, could inumaki make a BV to limit his use of cursed speech through speakers could that boost the effectiveness and mitigate the drawbacks of his technique?
what I don't get is that a binding vow is an equivelent exchange type of thing right? So what is the cost for such a major change, going from idk 5 claps per second to 50 per second just by changing the target of his CT without it afecting anything. With this logic couldn't Inumaku just use a speaker with prerecorded words and use that for his CT so his throat doesn't get damaged?
If anyone in fiction media could make a Vibraslap plot relevant and not detract from the characters coolness/intimidation It has to be Todo. I think that also says a lot about Gege's writing ability.
Maybe part of his binding vow is that he has to have it wrapped up when he isn’t using his technique. That makes it harder to fight back when he is getting jumped.
there was a guy that was going back and forth with me about binding vows being nerfs when sukuna and now todo are literally showing you can only become stronger with binding vows. The only way you can use them is by being able to see a stronger version of yourself, something only the strongest can do and use effectively
3:45 What if he's talking about the thing he did when he fought mahito in shibuya? Maybe his technique reversal is to use boogie woogie without clapping his hands? Idk honestly, gege prolly playing with us 😭
My head canon is boring, but I honestly thought that he just used Re-BW WITH the bandages on. The vibrations can still rattle the box, and metal teeth under the cloth I assume so I think the bandage removal is just for “coolness.”
Im very curious about this binding vow, it doesn't inately have a drawback a majority of the binding vows we've seen. The concept of binding vows as you've explained is to work like "equivalent exchange". In this case, this binding vow has DRASTICALLY increased Todo's power, without consequences. Also what did he give up for being about to use his technique again? Unless the binding vow takes into account that he no longer can use his missing hand...
I think Todo used his bandaged hand 3 times for: 1. Swap Yuta with Kenjaku, so Okkostu could cut his head off. 2. Teleroted Yuta to Kenjakus head( there is the same sound effect mid-panel) 3. To save everyone from Malevolent Shrine.
im still wondering how sorcerer's activate or do a binding vow with themselves? do they just think to themselves or say it outloud or it just happens based off emotions.
Thanks to JJK now i want to make a Naruto fanfict where he derive from his father more and expand Hiraishin Jutsu to be more potent. Combining Hiraishin with Jikkukan Kekkai type jutsu to create something like Domain Expansion where inside of that barrier range he can teleport without the need of seal on an object.
It’d be pretty funny if the real activation of boogie woogie had nothing to do with the vibra slap and it’s just a way to throw sukuna way off, and that’s why he only unbandaged it now
