I just noticed that in 2:40 he didn't actually say Bakugo like the subtitles said but instead "protect Midoriya and the others" I know Deku has a deeper relationship with Bakugo, Iida and Uraraka but I truly believe Shoto feels Deku is the closest friend he has and that's very sweet
I believe Izuku and Katsuki are like brothers: they grew up together (phisically and emotionally). They often argue but they would die for each other (exactly like brothers do). Nobody knows and understands Izuku better than Katsuki, and viceversa. I see Shoto and Iida as Izuku's best friends ❤ And, imo, Shoto is closer to Izuku than Iida...but that's just my thought😊
i watch bot the sub and the dub and the scene in dabi's reveal where todoroki screams at endeavor to protect midoriya and the others has a whole different vibe and connotation from the original version. i have a degree in translation and love seeing how different animes can be in the sub and dub just from these small changes in lines. entire character relationships feel different just from the changes they make in the script from one language to the other. also i like how in this scene todoroki calls him dad. it's one of the only times he does it in the anime

I don't disagree that at 2:21 was a good showing of the voice actor's abilities but I think the clip just after that, of Todoroki calling desperately to endeavor, was more gut wrenching.
