This is literally THE best Todoroki video I’ve seen. Usually videos just show his trauma with his scar and ‘hating’ his dad. But you delved deeper into their inner thoughts, his feelings as a child and everything revolving around finding out that his brother became a villain ‘because of him’. Along with showing the strained relationship between his siblings. It’s very obvious that his siblings don’t know the extent to Shoto’s abuse. Whether they chose to ignore it or just didn’t know. The dialogue was beautiful and your video choice was chefs kiss. Tldr: YOU ATE THIS UP, REGURGITATED IT AND ATE IT AGAIN

FINALLY. Thank you so much for not only touching on Touya's trauma. It's really important, and I love the reactions with it, but I can find almost *nothing* on Shoto. I'm so grateful I stumbled upon this absolute masterpiece. I'd like this a thousand times over if I could!

This is really amazing. It perfectly shows how awful Shotos thoughts about himself and his life are because of this situation. Love how Dabi realised endeavour abused and tormented him too. Being the masterpiece ruined his life the second he was born so it really pisses me off that Dabi in his insanity thinks that if he could have just been the masterpiece he would’ve been happy. Absolutely heartbreaking to watch him throw away and abuse (attempted murder counts as abuse right?) the people who would have loved him for more then what his quirk could offer them (Natsuo and Shoto especially)

whats always fucked with me is shouto went through so much more than any of them. touya like has it in his head that he went through the worst, but its always felt very self destructive and honestly a bit delusional. ofc touya went through sm, but like he got out ykwim? and at the very least in the beginning, endeavor seemed alr. like in the clips with him just seeming so proud of touya but then being worried that his quirk was hurting him? endeavor wouldn’t have cared about that with shouto, he was too far gone. and fuyumi and natsuo at least had eachother, and rei went through sm but in a sense she got out of the household as well after cooking shoutos face. i really loved how everyone started to process that being the “masterpiece” didn’t give shouto g o o d attention, it just encouraged endeavors abuse in the form of “training.” shouto had every reason to resent them for what he went through but he’s still so good. i was honestly so happy when they truly were hit with the brunt of their actions and fuyumi apologized. plus touyas internal dialogue as he questions whether shouto was really to blame (he isn’t ofc, but touya def seems to have severe mental issues involving self pity and an intense need for attention that molded into jealousy). also i really loved how shoutos obviously stunted social skills were portrayed; especially his confusion as to why they all suddenly reacted over the fact he would be content with dying since he thought it would bring touya back and make the family happier. overall this was just so good ty for the post

I love this! Often times, people tend to overlook Shouto's trauma, and focus on Touya's. However, in my opinion, Shouta went through a lot more. That doesn't mean that Touya's trauma wasn't there, I just feel like Shouta was subjected to a lot more. Plus, not only was there the abuse, but Shouto was completely isolated from his siblings for his entire life, up until UA. There's also the fact that Dabi blames Shouto's existence for the reason that they don't have a happy family. Can you imagine how much that would affect a kid? Because yes, Shouto is still a kid, even at 16.

Oh my god this is what I mean when I say good reaction video!! their reactions are SO in character and I think you portrayed them so well. This is literally like the best angst vid I've ever seen. I don't ever want to put down a character for their trauma but I dislike Dabi as a character because I personally think he's just messed up. I understand that he's been through a lot, don't get me wrong, but I don't know why he has to be so mad at his Shoto for it? How is it Shouto's fault that ENDEAVOR is paying attention to him, when he was literally a baby who couldn't even really think. Not to mention did Touya not see what Todoroki was going through while being trained? He never wanted to be the masterpiece. I know that Dabi grew up wanting Enji's attention and stuff so I can see why he portrays Endeavor as always being in the right as a kid, but that just makes me dislike him more because obv he has some problems. Ofc I'm not gonna blame him for the problems, its not his fault for getting them, its Endeavors, but like that doesn't mean he grew up with no moral compass? I'll be honest I've watched this video several times over again, and I'm being completely honest when I say that this is possibly the best Todoroki family reaction video I've ever seen. The reactions don't seem far fetched for how the characters act, you delved deep into the trauma of each character so beautifuly I'm honest kinda speechless! I see far to many reaction videos have little to no dialogue making it feel bland and you really captured what you need to do with dialogue in these types of videos. I just wanted to keep watching every second that went by! My favorite part of the video has to be how you really looked in to Shoto as a character. Far to many videos chop his trauma down and don't see who he truly is as a character and I think you captured it perfectly. And Touya, gosh you really got him on the nail. I see far to many videos making him a fairly sweet dude but he really isn't. I love how you captured the fact that yes he went through hell, but he still let it consume him making him go mental and become the cruel person he is. I absolutely loved this video, And I could deep dive in and explain each aspect I really enjoyed in this video but it would make this comment far to long. Keep up the amazing work! Dabi and Shoto are such tragic characters and you potrayed it so well in thie video. Although, I will say I don't like when people claim that Dabi doesn't have it the worst and claims Shoto did. While I appreciate people finally focusing on Shoto's tramua and suffering which is very overdue in this fandom. To claim he had it worse then Dabi is false. Because tramua is tramua. And suffering is suffering. It's all equally worse. Also, one more thing to add. People also need to understand that Shoto likely could have ended up like Dabi and be a villian and become bitter and vengeful towards his father. I think that's heavily implied in the series which is why Shoto has such strong feelings about Dabi and being the one to fight him. Shoto, however, had people around him who loved and cared for him which is Class1a who essentially pulled him out of the darkness. Dabi on the other hand literally had no one to pull him out of the darkness, he was alone, broken and tramautized. They very much parallel each other. It's overall just sad because Dabi and Shoto are very complex and parallel characters and people are just making it about "Shoto had it the worst in suffering not Dabi" when they are two mentally ill tramautized characters and both had it equally the worst, it's wild. Sorry for writing so much in your comment section like its a fanfiction lMAO hope you enjoyed reading some strangers tangent.

I watched both these videos a few days or so back, but I came back to say that I really enjoy the development of Dabi's character. His callous, all-encompassing coldheartedness really fits for pre-canon, and his more confused yet cynical demeanor suits this version of him better. It might seem like a small detail, but it's very realistic and I appreciate the development. (Also painfully ironic that manga Dabi seems more humane than pre-canon Dabi, considering manga Dabi has committed more crimes, but also pitifully realistic.) Bonus: This is the kind of video that makes me constantly pace and rant to myself out of sheer emotional output. I hope I never forget it! :)

This is so underrated and I feel so bad for shoto T^T I’m so close to bursting into tears 😭 and keep in mind I don’t cry very often so this is very rare

FRRRRR I sympathise with what Touya has gone through cause getting abused, disgarded, 'dying', being in a 3 year coma and shit has got to hurt but when he 'died' Shoto was like 4 or 5. Shouto was literally only born and he had all these expectations and abuse and forced social ostracization (I can imagine that before being a part of class 1A Shouto has never seen or been to the beach, he has never had any unhealthy snacks or any fast food because Enji would have completely restricted his diet. I can also imagine that Shouto learned to bandage his own wounds and raised himself after Rei was sent away, possibly making the injuries worse because of being a literal toddler) I also headcanon that Shouto is neuro divergent (Possibly ADHD, definitely autistic)

This was a beautiful video that focused not only on Dabi's trauma but how Shoto must have felt. One little critique/idea I have is the fact that dabi would care as much or be shocked at Shoto's abuse, he was to far gone to feel any sympathy for his brother at that point. Honestly loved this video though and the character designs were beautiful. (I'm not trying to be rude sorry if it seems that way.) This was one of the best Todoroki reaction video's I have seen.

Wow, AMAZING storytelling you have going here, I love how for once, you actually have Shoto also having a bit of hatred for the family, that makes so much sense, and why he probably also feels a connection with Touya, I’m not gonna lie, that last edit shook me, and made me wish that’s how the fight really ended in the manga, as I want Dabi do have some kind of arc with his family without fighting, just letting their anger out, and trying to understand each other more, who knows, maybe we’ll still get that, but what you did here nailed it, especially with making Dabi question on whether or not he really wants Shoto dead when he realizes how much Shoto doesn’t hate him and actually tries to save him.

I love this so much, because Shoto is my favorite character and I'm so glad that this Todoroki reaction touches on not only Touya's trauma but also Shoto's. And also, this is a question so please correct me if i'm wrong, but wasn't Touya just neglected and not abused? Like Endeavor started training him normally (not like with Shoto) but once he found out his body couldn't handle it he stopped and didn't pay much or any atention to Touya, but Touya went on to push his body because of the thoughts his father put in his head. That's just what I remember so again feel free to correct me. Because in my opinion (and maybe others... or not) Shoto went through the most in the family. They all went through traumatic experiences don't get me wrong but Natsou and Fuyumi had eachother, Rei got out and was able to heal in her own way. Touya, didn't really heal, but he got out and while he was tormented by memories and hatred he didn't have to suffer through it for years. Shoto however, had to suffer through physical, emotional, and mental abuse from the ages of what 4 or 5 to 16 (like can you imagine living in that for that long). He had to watch his mother get abused and obviously the kettle incident. He never knew his siblings, never was allowed to play or interact with them, or doing anything a kid could do, being the 'masterpiece' doesn't do anything good. His guilt (even though it is nowhere near his fault) for Touya becoming Dabi aka becoming a villain, just because he was born. Him thinking his family would be better off without him breaks my heart. He has every right to resent his family but he doesn't, he loves them all despite of it all. And I love him for that. ANOTHER THING, possibly the last thing. But no one can convince me that Shoto hasn't thought about or probably tried suicide. With everything he has went through it wouldn't surprise me. I feel like I've just barely touched the surface of what Shoto has gone through and there is just so much more, but this comment is already so long 😅. Shoto Todoroki has never done anything wrong, like ever, and he deserves so much better and I will stand by those two facts till the day I die. Thank you so much for this beautiful reaction video, even if it was posted a year ago, I just love it so much.

You captured half of dabi correctly, but made the other ignorant and emotional, he wouldn't say Shoto is privileged, the title of masterpiece is pejorative, he knows Shoto suffered, that's the whole reason he didn't stay home and went to become Dabi, he doesn't hate Shoto specifically, but his entire family. This is the list of people he hates most in his family: 1-Endeavor 2-Rei 3-Shoto 4-Fuyumi 5-Natsuo He doesn't have a soft spot for anyone and would prefer if everyone died
