Hi Michael, thank you for helping us. I love your videos, my exam is in TWO days. This is my response: Both options, remote work and traditional work, have real advantages and disadvantages. Nevertheless, I´m honestly convinced that remote work is much better than traditional work basically because working home makes you have more free time at the end of the day. Karen is right about the fact that the working atmosphere is crucial in a job. However, I strongly agree with Ronald´s perspective, and I add that it is good oportunity to invert in your house technology material. In addition, with remote work you save a lot of money because you do not even have to spend a dollar to pay gasoline or a bus.

Your grammar is good, but you have repeated the word "work" about a million times. You must avoid needless repetition like that!

Hi, thank you for this opportunity my answer: While I appreciate the points mentioned by both Ronald and Karen, I think that remote positions offer flexibility to employees, which was unheard of a couple of years ago, so that more people can join the workforce, eventually leading to the employment of sufficient workers, so that the economy can continue to thrive and tolerate the burden of Earth’s ever-increasing population. Remember that many individuals can’t work full-time, as it has been the industry’s demand for ages, so by offering alternative work environments, such as remote positions, we are significantly helping these workers, which are usually mothers or caretakers, eventually boosting the economy. Some people may feel that remote occupational opportunities would lead to market saturation as the influx of newer employees, which demands lower salaries, surpasses the market’s needs, but that is not a sound argument as it does not consider the subsequent increase in the overall job positions due to the flourishing economy.

This is pretty decent, but that opening line is way too long with way too many conjunctions. Chop that up into two or even three separate sentences. Actually... the whole answer has this problem. This is a very long response, but it only contains three sentences in total! I think this one would score 22 or 23 points, but I bet you can do way better.

In my opinion, remote work is a mostly positive trend. I strongly support Ronald when he mentions the increased flexibility and productivity at home. For example, when employees work from the convenience of their home, they do not have to dress formally, so they can choose a dress that they are more comfortable with. In addition, while they are at home, they can spend time with their family members during breaks. Not only does this refresh their minds and recharge their batteries, but it also provides them with more work-life balance. Karen suggests that workers have to be physically present at the workplace, so they can build relationships, but she doesn't take into account the fact that collaboration and networking can easily be achieved using video calls and social media. In conclusion, I am of the opinion that the advantages of remote work far outweigh its minor disadvantages.
@Toeflresources
@Toeflresources Год назад
This is good work, but there are errors here and there. Like: "at home" (should be something like "of working at home") "choose a dress" (should be something like "choose an outfit") Otherwise, I like this a lot. I think it would score about 26 or 27 points. Nice work!

Hi Michael, thank you for helping us. This is my response: While some may think that working in an office workplace is a good idea, I believe that remote work is a beneficial feature for employees. To begin with, people can save huge amounts of money by working from home because they do not have commuting costs, and they can spend their income on important things such as exercising in order to be in good shape and maintain their physical and mental health. As a result, staff’s working efficiency and productivity will improve, making an outstanding contribution to a better working atmosphere. Besides, remote working would be so useful for both the environment and people because there is no need to use cars and transportation that puts a lot of CO2 into the atmosphere and leads to various illnesses and environmental issues.
@Toeflresources
@Toeflresources Год назад
I would just say "is beneficial for employees." That is more natural than sticking "feature" in there. I would say "stay in good shape." The sentence beginning with "as a result" is mangled. I would say: "As a result, they are more efficient and productive, and help create a better atmosphere overall." There are other issues, but I will leave it at that. Overall, I think this one might score 22 or 23 points.

Hello Michal, a big thank you for creating videos for TOEFL. They immensely help me in preparing for my exam. Please check my response: While I appreciate the points mentioned by both Ronald and Karen, I think that remote work is more beneficial than working physically in office. Through remote work, we can connect from any corner of the world which leads to expansion in global opportunities. While staying in my home country, I can work for an American based company. The cost of moving and settling to a different location is saved through this. Some people may feel that the professional atmosphere required to work efficiently is only sometimes available while working from home, but it can be managed and created by setting up the working desk and required tools at a fixed place in the home where you cannot be disturbed. A home office is not always required to work.
@Toeflresources
@Toeflresources 2 месяца назад
This is pretty good, but I am worried about your lack of transitions. You need stuff like: "THIS IS BECAUSE the cost of moving and settling in..." and "ALTHOUGH some people may feel..." and "AS A RESULT, a home office...." Do you see what I mean? I think your answer might score 23 or 24 points, but I am sure you can do better.

As far as I am concerned, I would probably like to do remote work for a couple of reasons. First is the factor of environment. I like to be in a peaceful remote area breathing fresh air and enjoying my life at the fullest. When I try to remember the city area where I had to maintain a early schedule to get to office fast. Traffic jams also takes away lot of our valuable time reaching to our respective offices. As a result, we can be moody due the frustration and our relationship status friend, families and colleagues can be affected very badly,
@thematrix1308
@thematrix1308 Год назад
I would argue that remote work is beneficial in multiple ways. To illustrate, One of the drawbacks of working in an office is that it limits employees to spend less time with their families. Spending quality time with family is of paramount importance for individuals. Therefore, workers should have the right to be with their loved ones more often. This can be achieved when employees should work from their homes. Take my father, for example. He works in CRS, a charity organization in the USA. Before the pandemic, he used to work from his office every day. He barely had time to spend with us. However, right after the pandemic, he could not continue working from his office due to the difficulties and limitations of the time. As a result, he had to work from home. It has been four years since then. Now he has more time to spend with us, which is superb.
@Toeflresources
@Toeflresources Год назад
Watch out for simple typos like the capital on "One." Note the proper usage of "limits." You should have said: "it limits employees from SPENDING time with their families." Otherwise, I like your work a lot. I think it would score about 26 points. Just try to use a few more coordinating conjunctions to add complexity to your grammar.

hi Micheal Please respond to my answer I definitely love to work remotely and agree with Paul that it is a positive trend to work from home I would like to add further that we feel easy and stress-free while working from home One of the biggest stresses which everyone faces is traffic most of the people has to get up early morning approximately need one hour for only 10 km to reach their offices where they can normally travel within 5 to 10 minutes in their cars beside this road blockage A daily accident gives people so much stress that they hardly sleep at night time and feel tired every morning which affects their performance in the office, In addition, I must say that while working at home we can better manage our time like if your spouse is working too you can look after your children too like drop off and pick up from school and even in emergencies you can be a valuable asset to your families that's why in my opinion it is better to work from home

Hi Michael! Thank you for your kindness! Here is my response, can’t wait to hear back from you: I believe work from home is more beneficial than detrimental. I agreed with Ronald when he said that it increases productivity because less distractions from being in the office and having other duties with coworkers. I don’t believe work from home affects relationships, promotions or prevents from getting raises. I actually believe push people to work on those skills to communicate through other ways, like chats, where you can actually respond when you have time. Work from home is beneficial for moms. They can balance motherhood with working. I support working from home, and I believe more companies should push for this.

Hi Michael, Please rate me for my response mentioned below: In my opinion, remote work is very beneficial for employees as well as the companies. Primarily because companies incur expenditures in thousands of dollars to set up a large physical working place. However, if companies allow employees to work from home they would save a lot of money that can be used for hiring more people, conducting research, or increasing the marketing. I understand Karen’s concern of people not able to collaborate effectively while working from home but with the ever increasing technology it is indeed possible nowadays for people to stay connected with the same effectiveness through video calls. Additionally, as mentioned by Ronald working from home would not require travelling but it would also save money for the employees.

Hi Michael! Thank you so much for the lesson. Could you please review my essay. I’d really appreciate it. If I were forced to choose, I would definitely say remote work is a negative development in the world today. My personal belief is that when people work from home, it decreases social interactions. I have to admit that my opinion on this matter has been profoundly influenced by my own personal experience. For example, many people forge friendships with their colleagues in the workplace, which is more difficult to do when working online. Through online meetings people are less likely to interact with each other, leading to poor connections and relationships. I understand Ronald’s positivity towards spending less time commuting, but I think he misses another critical point. Having flexible schedules and spending the majority of our days at home might lead to sedentarism, a harmful problem that affects our overall well-being. In light of the reasons mentioned, I strongly believe it is crucial to maintain the traditional way of working for a healthier world with less mental health issues.

Hi Micheal, thank you for do great effort for us. Could you please give me few second from your precocious and time rate my essay. Please kindly also assist me which areas I have to do exertion to get 5 score “The topic of working remotely has generated much discussion in recent years. I personally believe that it has had a largely negative impact on a person's life and a company's progress. While I acknowledge Ronald's views that it provides a flexible environment to a person to work more efficiently, But I would argue that it has great effect on person's thinking, when he consistently work without any social interaction. This is because a person who is stuck at any point can not resolved the problem until discussing with other group members. But, working with group members could be beneficial for a person to get solution easily. Recent studies also have also demonstrated that human mind often produces minimal output when working in a group as opposed to working individually. For these reasons, I personally prefer to work in group than in home

My personal belief is that remote work is a desirable development, empowering both the companies and employees to ease their financial burden. For one thing, work from home means the decreased demand for physical positions and possibly less need for other assets like computers, tables and chairs. For another, employees who don’t commute often don’t need to bear the cost of public transportation fares or taxi. Both sides could allocate the money saved in other areas, so this is definitely a win-win situation. On the face of it, there may be less teamwork and less opportunities for promotion. However, this is only because that some staff are still not accustomed to this working pattern. They will eventually adapt themselves well into this new atmosphere and make contribution as in the physical office. What's further, in the light of employee motivation and development, there will still be reasonable evaluation mechanism from the management in the long run, ensuring a promising and sustainable career development for all staff.

Hello, dear respected teacher, hoping you are doing. Here is my sample response. I'd be glad if you could provide me effective feedbacks and tell me how much this response will score. In my perspective, it is a convincing idea for employees to work from home rather than in the office. Because it avoids a huge amount of time consumption, instead the company can add to the employee's working hours, and by doing that, they can increase their payment. When a worker works in the office, they have to allocate a specific amount of time to get to work on time and also come back home. They usually get out earlier because they might stick in traffic and not arrive at their workplace on time. Therefore, in order to prevent this kind of problematic situation, remote work is the best possible option.

Hi, Mr. Michael, thanks for taking your time. This is my response. From my perspective, I agree with Ronald's idea that remote work is beneficial to employees. As mentioned by Ronald, people do not have to allocate time to commute if they are allowed to work at home. Without the limitation of geographic distance, employees are able to engage themselves in work without spending time taking a taxi, finding a parking lot, and walking to their offices, thus sparing a large quantity of time on their jobs. Apart from what Ronald has raised, I add that home-working helps people save a lot of money as well. It is well-known that most employees, living distantly from their companies, tend to drive private cars or take a train to work, by which they should spend some money on traffic fees such as gasoline and tickets; on the contrary, such expenditure will not exist if citizens are able to work at home. Therefore, due to these advantages, remote work, without doubt, should be advocated.

Good evening! This is pretty good, but you have room for improvement. Don't use "from my perspective" AND "I agree with." Just pick one, as using both is redundant and awkward. Change "allocate time to commute" to "spend time commuting," which is more natural. Change "living distantly from their companies" to "living far from their companies." There are other little issues, but I think you get the point. Overall, I think this one would score 23 or 24 points.

Hi, could you please review my response: The question whether remote work is beneficial or not is a debatable one. However, in my final opinion, I believe that benefits of the remote work prevail over the drawbacks. I strongly agree with the Ronald’s statement that work from home allows people to spend less time for commuting. Furthermore, I would like to add that by spending less time on the way to work people become not only more productive, but also save a lot of money. Moreover, there is an environmental effect in form of smaller CO2 emissions due to lower traffic. While Karen mentions that promotions might be limited due to remote working, I would like to note that modern software can easily track performance of everyone and, as long as the employer is objective, promotions will be assigned on a merit-based principle rather than based on relationships. Lastly, I work remotely for several years and I like it. It allows me to be flexible in planning my work and personal arrangements while keeping the quality of the work solid as it is evidenced by my performance and achievement of the assigned KPIs.

Hi Michael, you are awesome as always! I would love to hear your remarks on the following response. In my opinion, remote work has many advantages, and I will go over two of them in this discussion. First, it benefits companies by cutting their expenses for hospitality services such as tea, coffee, and snacks. Many organizations spend a significant amount of money annually on these items. For instance, the company where I work has 200 staff, and its hospitality budget is over a thousand dollars per week. If the employees work remotely, they no longer need to provide snacks and can save this money. In addition, there are other costs, such as electricity bills, internet, trash, office cleaning, and maintenance, which can be significantly reduced when employees work from home. Therefore, I recommend remote work over traditional office work.

Hi, Mr. Michael, thank you for helping us. Here this is my response: In my opinion, I agree with Ronald’s point of view. Remote work is much better for both companies and employees. It saves a huge amount of money spent on transportation and reduces the efforts to be in workplace offices every day. Companies need to increase the efficiency of their employees by promoting them to be comfortable. This can be attained by enhancing the physical and mental health of the workers. Remote work gives a chance to save the income, so they can spend more time with their families and friends, take healthy food, and do other activities. However, this will be beneficial to all. Moreover, working from home sometimes helps mothers to organise their time.

I think this one would score about 23 points. A few things are worth mentioning: Don't use "In my opinion, I agree with...". Just use "I agree with..." You need conjunctions! Hi Michael! Thanks for the resources. While I appreciate both Karen and Ronald’s points, I believe that hybrid work is more beneficial as a long term solution. I think remote and traditional work have their own particular challenges and rewards, and offering workers a flexible schedule that allows them to come into office either once or a few times a week allows relationships with colleagues to grow organically while also both maintaining the less stressful ambient of working by yourself and reducing time spent commuting. There is no reason for this to be a black and white problem, as there is a grey area which allows for more quality of life and productivity.

Although, there are certain advantages of working in offices but I think that work from home is a better option and it had already shown its capability in COVID phase. Ronald had already mentioned a couple of advantages, I would like to add some more to that. For instance, There will be a great cost-cut saving for the new startups. They won't need an office, computers, technical support, electricity and many more daily necessary items. There will be a great saving for them, that could be used on hiring new employees and will create new jobs in the market. Apart from that, new technologies such as Zoom calls offer live meetings so we can directly interact with the clients. This is the reason I think working from home is better than working in offices.

I personally believe that remote work is a concept which is redefining the way people work nowadays. I mostly agree with Ronald that it not only reduces the commuting time which hogs up around 25% of the time of an individual during his efficient hours but also drains their energy due to it. By the means of remote work, an individual can be more flexible with his work-life balance which has a direct impact on his performance as well. While, I do concede with what Karen has to say that, one has to carefully look at the consequences of making work-from-home the new normal since some drawbacks and hardships exists with this environment as well. Due to lack of physical interaction between the employees, it becomes increasingly difficult for people at managerial positions to effectively overlook and delegate work which has a serious impact on collaboration efforts. Moreover, due to lack of effective communication and collaboration, there can exist cases when it may hamper or limit the growth of an individual due to his less visibility within the company. Therefore, I believe, one has to acknowledge both the positives as well as drawbacks before jumping onto the bandwagon of remote work policy for all.

Dear Michael! Thank you for your videos, they are really helpful. Could you check my answer please. This is a challenging topic because remote work has both benefits and drawbacks. However, I tend to agree with Karen’s opinion that there are too many disadvantages to working from home. First of all, many people working from home complain that they often feel isolated. This might negatively affect their productivity, as collaboration with colleagues is vital in many professions. Furthermore, working from home can be detrimental to team morale, whereas working in an office setting allows personnel to support each other during tough periods. Although I agree with Ronald’s idea that working from home eliminates commuting time, I disagree with his claim that employees face fewer distractions at home. Family members, such as children, can negatively impact concentration on professional duties. In addition, many people struggle to motivate themselves to work hard, which often leads to procrastination.

Thanks Mr. Michael. I would be so glad if you give me your opinion about my essay. My response: ......................... This is a challenging topic, but I think that remote work isn’t an effective method to achieve the tasks. I strongly support Karen's idea that maybe some employees don't have sufficient rooms for a home office. I would add that the employees may sometimes face some problems with internet connection that are going to struggle the work. While Ronald raised the relevant point that the employees will be more productive if they work in the home instead of the office, he didn't mention that the employees may be distracted by some distractions. For instance, during COVID-19, I was working from home, and I was suffering from many distractions such as phone, friends, and others.

Here's my response: "In my perspective, remote work is a great idea for several reasons. Firstly, work-from-home employees are not only saving time by commuting less often, but they are also saving energy and commuting expenses while reducing pollution from automobiles. Secondly, remote jobs allow people to work peacefully in the comfort of their own homes, where there is very little distraction. This also encourages employees to be more productive. While I understand that being physically present in the same room as our colleagues at work has its benefits, we must also consider the negatives that it brings about in a workforce that is growing ever larger. It may become too expensive for businesses to manage employees in their spaces. Lastly, working from home also solves the problem of employees moving to a different town or city to work on site." I think going to work every day will be more beneficial than doing it from home. In addition to the atmosphere that helps to concentrate and build relationships with your colleagues, I think working in an office or working space will make you more focused on what you are doing. For example, In coronavirus, I was working from home. I always have a hard time concentrating. This is because my kids are around me. Hello Michal. Thanks for your video. this is my response: From my standpoint, despite there are some positive points in remote work, it shouldn’t become primary working standard in companies. Working at office allows workers to communicate with each other which is beneficial. Communicating face to face with colleagues allows workers to exchange ideas which can contribute to creativity and generation of new ideas. Also employees can get help of others more efficiently in shortest time when they encounter any problem. Moreover, working at office help the company and its workers to have discipline. All employees should work at a specified time and this will prevent any disorder which might happen in remote work. Employees have flexible arbitrary work hour in remote work which might end up making some difficulties to coordinate projects and each employee’s task with others because they have different work hours.

Hi Michael! This is my response: While I appreciate the points mentioned by both Ronald and Helen, I really think that working remotely has a negative impact on people's skills. When employees work from home, their communication skills have declined significantly since they do not have to step out of their comfort zone regularly. Working from home does not require meetings in person, which can lead to poor articulation. Usually, remote workers interact only with their colleagues or managers through phone calls or emails; however, when they work in an office, they need to meet and communicate with a lot of people to sign a document or participate in a seminar which can force them to impove their communicative abilities in order to convey their ideas clearly and effectively. Obviously, having strong communication skills are an integral part of successful career and good relathionships with co-workers and; therefore, should not be overlooked.

Hi Michael, thank you for helping us. This is my response: While there are certainly some advantages of remote work, I personally think that it’s better to keep the on office work style or some hybrid system between them. I’m convinced that remote work can be really boring and tedious since you’re working alone. Furthermore, it’s much harder to get instant help from your colleges or your managers since you’re going to wait for them to check their e-mails. In contrast, on scene working is much better and you can have more fun time and develop a good deep bond with your colleges and bosses which can significantly increase the overall productivity of the group. However, I also think that hybrid system between office and remote work can also be effective because it will be much easier to meet the needs of the people with disabilities or people with special circumstances such as students who want make money to spend on themselves. Hello! I am taking this new Toefl next week and I would like to receive some feedback on my writing I understand both views, but I believe that the disadvantages outweigh the benefits. Therefore, I totally agree with Karen’s idea, and I would like to add that it is not only the human relationships they would suffer from remote work, but also health issues. For example, your eyes will get tired, or you might lack exercise due to spending too much time on your chair and staring at your screen. Moreover, you will lose your opportunity to get out of the house and go to work, forcing you to stay home all day. For that reason, if we get too used to working online, our health conditions would continuously worsen and I think it's absolutely a bad idea! Thank you!

Hi Michael, thank you so much for generous sharing and teaching, which is also very clear and logic and i've learnt a lot! Please see below my responses: I strongly support that Karen’s opinion that the trend of remote work should not become more and more common. Since most of work needs collaborations that we finish certain projects together with our colleagues, meeting with colleagues face-to-face could be increasingly important. Furthermore, I would also like to add that working onsite in the office and talking to the colleagues instead of typing and chatting via teams could improve the communication efficiency and to let each other be familiar with the opposite’s working style. I noticed Ronald’s statements that remote work could let us spend less ytime for commuting, but he did not mention that keeping staying in house for a quite long time could also be a damage to our body and health. Overall, I think people should try to work onsite and interact with the colleagues and bosses as much as they can to improve the working quality and environment.

Hello Michael, Here is my respond. In my opinion, remote work shouldn't be continue after pandemic period, I strongly agree with Karan, human being should have physical communicate route in daily life. I'd add that home is just to so spend time with family members by relaxing and chilling. Ronald raised the relevant point that coworker could be acting a bit distract, he didn't mention the work place shouldn't mix with personal space. For example, during the quarantine period, I had to work from home. I live in a tiny little apartment, which is completely hall style without wall and rooms, with my wife and my newborn baby. Whenever I have a meeting, my little boy had cried as his nature. My wife tried my best to keep her baby not to cry. It didn't work out very well. I have been scold by my superior. As I can't perform well on my job, I was needed a friend to chat about difficulties. I couldn't do it either because of covid. I had a terrible experience about remote work, so I like to work only on my deck in the office.

Hello dear Michael, please have a look at my answer as well. I do like to talk about both students view points. Do you recommend it? "Whether remote work is a beneficial or detrimental phenomenon is a worldwide matter of debate. In my opinion, remote work is massively advantageous in today’s work and could positively impact our lives in various aspects. For example, it could hugely reduce the time we normally spend every day while traveling to the workspace. In this sense, I fully agree with Ronald’s idea that rightfully addresses remote work’s merit in enhancing productivity by obviating the need to commute a lot. Karen brings up a relevant point, concerning the potential negative impacts of remote working on social relationships. However, I believe she simply overlooks the fact that relationships could also be built online and people do not necessarily have to be in the exact same physical space to socialize and enjoy togetherness."

Although most of the people believe that working remote increases productivity, In my opinion this aproach would reduce the function of workers. This is because working in a workplace would make a synergy. Employees coworking in a work atmosphere have grather results than they work seperatly at their homes. Moreover, I am of the opinion that commution between home and workplace is essential for people. In this way, they have to exit from their hose and expose themself to the nature, particularly the sun's light. It is a well-stablished scientific fact that sunlight exposure would bring the individual to proper hormounal level. For instance, during the corona pandemic, when I have to work from my apartment, I bareky went outside; as a result, after several weeks I felt low energy and depression.

Hello.. can you please evaluate my response? From my viewpoint, I think that remote work has more disadvantages than advantages ones. And that's for several reasons. First of all, working from home needs a special and calm place for helping you concentrate on your job without any distracting things around you. Also remote work will deniey you from collaborating and interacting with your workmates and if you needed any help you would have find yourself alone and then you should wasting your time on calling and masseging your team members and this may affect negatively on your overall job or mission. So I do believe that going to work daily will make you more productive than staying and working from home and that's my illustration.

Don't use both "from my viewpoint" AND "I think." Just pick one. Don't start sentences with '"and." The e-rater doesn't like that. Don't use "that's for several reasons." I would just omit that sentence, but if you must have a transition you can use something like "There are several reasons why I feel that way." I think this one would score about 20 points.

In my view, the shift from traditional work arrangements to remote work holds numerous advantages. I strongly agree with Ronald’s assertion that remote work enhances productivity and flexibility. For example, when employees work from the comfort of their own homes, they have the freedom to dress in a manner that suits their comfort. Additionally, remote work allows them to use their break time to spend with their families, refreshing their minds and reducing stress. Furthermore, remote work minimizes distractions from co-workers, fostering a more focused work environment. While Karen raises concerns about remote work's impact on relationships among colleagues and career promotions, it's essential to consider the benefits of remote work in this digital age. Collaboration and networking can be effortlessly achieved through various online platforms and social media. In conclusion, I firmly believe that the advantages of remote work far outweigh its minor disadvantages.

Here’s my response: While I appreciate what Karen said, I share Ronald’s perspective. Remote work is certainly beneficial and adventageous. The time and the energy wasted on transportation can effectively be dedicated to the improvement of projects and issues related to the development of the company. I’d add that working in the company with many co-workers constitutes a serious problem and obstacle for various introverted people who don’t feel comfortable when they work in a social environment. Therefore, working from home offers an ideal solution for this type of people to work in a cosy atmosphere which can lead to more creativity and productivity. Micheal raised the relevant point that since the employees don’t work in the same physical place, cooperative relationships are difficult to be established among them. In my opinion, however, people nowadays are incredibly accustomed to communicate via social networks, and connections can easily be formed without the need to work in the same place.

In my opinion, companies should expand their remote working policies. Single parents and mothers who are breastfeeding their young ones are able to take advantage of this opportunity. Single parents have a lot of responsibilities like taking their children to school and taking care of the household which limits their ability to commute to work everyday. People with different abilities would benefit from this scheme as well. They do not have to commute and struggle with traffic. They would also feel positive about themselves and not isolated if they are able to contribute to a cause or a project by working from home. Moreover, college goers with limited time in their hands and a lot on their plate find these remote jobs attractive. In conclusion, companies will have the opportunity to enhance diversity and inclusivity through this scheme. Thank you.

Even though working from home is becoming the new normal, I believe working in the office is more beneficial to the company and to an individual. Most employees are more focused while in the office unlike when working remotely where majority are distracted by either family members, pets friends and even other things like cleaning and cooking. I believe that when one prepares and leaves the house to go to the office they are physiologically prepared to work and they are not easy distracted. Also working in the office brings people together, it builds t friendships something that is not easy while working from home. While I respect Karen’s argument I am convinced that working in the office is way better compared to working remotely.

Hi michael. Would you please rate this? While I think working in an office can be to some extent advantageous, in mjy opinion, the benefits of working remotely can outwheigh its drawbacks. For one thing, by staying at home during the work hours, we could help the natural environment improve drastically. to explain more, in order to get to their work place, people have to use their private cars or puclic transportaition. These means of transprotion burn a lot of fossil fuel to work, and emitt green house gases into the atmosphere, which consequently result in the contamination of the environment. So when people avoid leaving their houses in order to go to their oficces, they can contribute to save the environment.

This is a challenging topic, but I think working from home will be a great idea in the future theme of work. I strongly agree with Ronald’s idea about the positive effect of remote working. He states that the worker will be more productive and creative when they work in a private spot without the negative effect of the surrounding environment. For the manager, the working outcome is the priority for the job, not the communication with others. I’d like to add that any one to be productive in the work needs a quiet and separated area if at work or at home. On the other hand, Karen dislikes this idea. In which she states that working from far away from colleagues will reduce any chances to grow up in the work and get promotions. But she did not mention that nowadays even meetings can be by zoom or far away. Remember that any work has different circumstances to handle and make it successful.

hi From my point of view, it is more beneficial for employees to work far away from their home because they experience varity of places. They become able to work in diverse environments which become familiar with different people, and they can learn new things from them. Having a far work assists workers to concentrate on their work which cause to positive outcomes for the company. The workers are far from their family which help them to focus on their work much more. They also will have an authentic backgroud which make them able to find new jobs simply in the future. Finally, it is better for workers to have a remote job for several reasons which I mentioned above.

thank you so much for the video and your explanation. Helped a lot! Here`s my answer. The topic of working from home instead of an office has caused much discussion in recent years. I strongly believe that it has more advantages than disadvantages. Performing your job tasks remotely allows you to work at any time and under any circumstances. I understand Ronald`s concern over wasting time on traveling to work and flexible work hours, however, I think he misses another crucial point. Along with saving time while working from home, employees can talk to their clients even if they feel under the weather, for instance. That is to say, they won`t have to skip days because of different unexpected accidents. Furthermore, staying home lets people dive into more work in comparison to being in an office. This is because most people get distracted easily and have bad attention spans nowadays, so they can get carried away chatting with their colleges.

Although I agree with Ronald's perspective that working from home can save us time by eliminating the daily travel, I still endorse Karen's opinion. I'd like to add that shadowing experienced people and interacting with colleagues can strengthen our skills, improve our communication, and enhance our thinking and creativity, eventually leading to promotions. For example, two years ago, I began a new job with no experience and knowledge about the nature of the work. However, after shadowing my coworker and actively seeking guidance by asking many questions, I was able to elevate my level to a degree that left a positive impression on everyone, resulting in a raise in a relatively short period. Therefore, I strongly agree with Keren's viewpoint because the benefits of remote work outweigh the disadvantages.

Remote work seems to be more convenient than on-side work but suppose you are in a large family, of course the noises are distractive. For example, I personally have the experience of teaching online during the Pandemic. It was quite difficult for me to record videos during the day. This was the result of a lot of noise during the day. Hence, I stayed late at night recording the video, which led to sleep deficiency. Hi Michael! I really like your channel and your videos. Thanks for being super helpful. Would you please check my response This is indeed a challenging topic, but I really think that remote work is a great idea. One of the reasons why is because it makes employees much more creative and helps them to relocate with their loved people. To be more specific, working from home provides a huge flexibility to choose where to live. Recently, I read an article in a local San Francisco newspaper about how working remotely had an immense impact on moving many employees from San Francisco to cheaper areas like Sacramento. For instance, I have a friend who works as a software engineer. Moreover, before the pandemic he was working in an office in San Francisco, but after the pandemic he was able to move to Sacramento since his company allowed remote working. Consequently, he bought a house and that made him more creative and relaxed. Actually, if his company had not started working from home, hw would not have been able to buy a house and feel more creative.

Hey Michal, I am very thankful for your videos. They really help me prepare better for this new task. Here is my response: The topic of remote work caused much discussion in recent years. My personal beleif is that working form home brings so much advantages that outweigh disadvantages heavily. For example, when the covid-19 pandemic virus emerged, many companies were in danger because their employees could not travel to the office. If they did not move to remote working, the business would have stumbled, their net worth would have decreased significantly and there would be tons of layoffs. The remote work was a kind of saviour in that situation as businesses kept running normally. I totally agree with Ronald's ponits and would like to add that everyone can make their home office comfortable and convenient for work. Moreover, many people complain about stress and anxiety when working in the same office with colleagues. A lot of people do not like at all when their work is being closely watched and monitored. But, when working from home, everyone can create their perfect environment when they can be the most productive. Also, they do not need to stress out whether they made enough progress because nobody is watching them in person.

First of all, you and your team can solve a problem quickly when they all work in person at the company. For instance, a IT company is working to create a new software for a client. When all team members work in the company building, they can easily reach togethr and ask a question. In contrast, in a remote work, you need to send an email to them to find a solution. I strongly agree with Ronald's idea that with teleworking, unnecessary commuting will be eliminated. I'd add that teleworking enables people to decrease their footprints on the Earth. To delineate, people often commute to the workplace by their personal automobiles, and car emissions have detrimental effects on Mother Nature. Chemical substances released by automobiles, such as carbon dioxide, are among the greenhouse gases causing global warming. Moreover, air pollution contributes to a wide range of diseases from allergy to lung cancer. Not only does the home office conserve the environment, but it also helps boost our physical health. Karen raised the relevant point that remote work prevents people from expanding their social circle. However, she did not mention that in today's modernized world, through the Internet, individuals can communicate with others no matter how far they are.
@Toeflresources
@Toeflresources 11 месяцев назад
This is really good, except for a few awkward phrases. I wouldn't really use "reduce their footprints on the Earth." I would probably just say "reduce their carbon footprint," since that is what you are talking about. I would also say something like "Not only is working from home environmentally friendly" as I find "conserve the environment" to be a bit akward. Also, I would just say "in the modern world." Overall, I think this one would score about 26 points. Nice work.

Hi Michael. Thanks for your advices. This is my response : People are divided into two on this issue, but I strongly believe that remote work is beneficial. There are lots of reasons why I feel this way. First of all, on remote work since you don’t have to go to office every day, you will save time. While saving time, you save money and your company doesn’t have to rent a parking lot or give you an allowance for commuting. Second, people can be more creative while working freely at home. There is no one to disturb them. However, I agree with the one who opposes remote work at one point. It is that it can not be adopted to every work. For instance; as an officer, you can’t fight at home; or you can’t clean the streets while working at home as a cleaning person.

Hi Michael, thank you for evaluating my responses! While I appreciate the points mentioned by Ronald and Karen, I think that remote working can benefit employers since the fixed costs of operating the company can reduced greatly. For example, the rentals of office spaces are no longer needed. The rentals in big cities, such as Chicago and New York City, cost an arm and a leg; however, if all the workers work from home, the employers could make use of the saved money to hire more efficient employees to create higher revenues. Overall, I would say that not only workers but also bosses can gain ample benefits from working remotely.

Hi. Thank you for helping us. This is my response. Can you please rate this response. The topic of remote working has generated much discussion in recent years. In my opinion, remote working is not a good concept if done on a regular basis. When a person is present physically in the office, the work environment allows him to focus well, and the overall productivity improves. This is not possible while working remotely. I understand Ronald’s concern about the disturbance from coworkers, but he misses a critical point of physical interaction with coworkers, which is important for overall personality development. To sum up, remote working should be considered only as a short-term option till physical presence is not possible due to unavoidable reasons.
@Toeflresources

Just call it "remote work." There is no need to use a gerund form here. Try "their office" and "their work environment" here since you are not talking about a specific office or specific environment. Indeed, you should probably spend some time studying articles as that may be a weak spot for you! I think this one would score about 22 points.

Hi Michael. Thanks for your advices. This is my response : While this is certainly a controversial topic, I believe that remote work has beneficial impacts on human life. By engaging in remote work, humans can spend more time with their families, thereby reducing the distance among them. I appreciate Ronald’s idea that remote works enables us to have more flexible hours. I would add that when individuals can work from home, they save effective time to do other high priority tasks such as exercising or reading books. Karen raised a relevant point that remote work may prevent us from promoting in our jobs but she may not be aware that as long as tasks are completed properly, income potential can still increase, even while not physically in the office.

Hi Mike, thanks for your help. I really appreciate it. Could you please grade my response and share some comments to improve. thanks. I believe working from home is a great idea. As Roland mentioned, this would save people a lot of time. Additionally, people could care for their family in case they need to be at home during working hours. The majority of the employee scheduled to work from eight in the morning till four O'clock in the afternoon, however, some emergencies required us to be at home, during the working hours, so if employer allow his crew to work from home to avoid such emergencies' needs, employees would appreciate this opportunity to care for their family. For instance, my cousin move to live with his mother because she is getting older and needs help, consequently he asked his manager if he can work from home, so he can care for his mom, and the manager agreed. Since that time he could care for his mom and give her the medicine and the help she needed.

While I appreciate the points mentioned by Kelly and Andrew, I think that environmental protection is more crucial to deal with recently. Since all the global warming consequences that affect our global like flooding, wild fires, heat waves and so on, it become more important to find solutions to protect the life of humans, animals and plants in order to survive. For instance, putting some strict environmental rules to reduce the pollution by reducing the greenhouse gases emission will protect our planet from further severe impacts. Moreover, planting more trees, recycling plastic and paper, converting to more sustainable energy sources is critical in protecting the environment. Hence, after being able to live properly on the earth, then we can consider education. Thank you so much Michael, I really appreciate your kindness.

Hi michael, thank you so much in advance. Here's my essey While some people may think that remote work is not a good idea, I personaly, believe that it can be really practical. First of all, by remotely working, people waste less amount of time in the process of going to work and getting back home consequently, they can use this time for other activities. Also, it can reduce the number of cars and also traffic on the streets, which will result in a healthier environment. In addition to that, individuals can save a considerable amount of money since transportation is usually highly costly. Actually, l have some experience about this. While some may argue that remote work is better than office one, I beg to differ. There are a couple of reasons supporting my perspective. First of all, working remotely can be flexible in terms of working hours but office is more definig as it sets a time routin that's filled with effeciency. Consequently, improving productivity and lowering the rate of distractions that can happen at home. Furthermore, It leaves the rest of the day open to add more activities like going to the gym or spending time with your family. Some people may feel that working from home is an amazing option, but I think it is actually not a good idea. Ronald raised a relevant point that some people may feel more productive at home. However, I believe that a large percentage of people would say that they are more distracted because of family members, kids, pets, or other distracting sounds, which can be avoided at workspaces. Moreover, I’d add that being in a work environment, where everyone is busy doing their job, prepares you for getting in a work mode, helps you stay more focused, and motivates you to finish the work faster. Overall, I’d say that both options have real advantages, but I am convinced that working offline is better than working remotely.

Hi Michael! Thank you so much. And here is my response,I would really appreciate it if you could give me some feedback: From my perspective, negative effects that the remote work brings to us are more than positive influences. Firstly, no one is an isolated island so the relationship interpersonal is indispensable, especially the actual and physical connection. When people work in the company together, they can talk with each other face to face. Thus, this enhance the relationship as well as the cooperation among the colleagues. Apart from this, the remote work may not be very effective and efficient given that it largely depend on the technology. Once the connection is unstable or there is some technological problems, the process of work will be interrupted and thus, the quality of work would not be that high as they work in the physical company.

In my opinion, there are many benefits to remote work. First, similar to what Ronald mentions, people may be more productive when working at home because they are not bothered by their coworkers. From my personal experience, I find myself studying more efficiently when I am not with my classmates. I would just keep chatting with others if I were surrounded by them. Second, working at home provides a flexible schedule and eliminates commute time, which can also contribute to productivity. Furthermore, remote work offers a good chance for parents who need to take care of their children while working at the same time. Considering these advantages, I support the idea of remote work. Although I cannot deny the fact that remote work can reduce individuals' chance to earn promotions, I am not on the same page as Karen. In my opinion, she has missed some points. To begin with, I think that people working from their home have more free time. As Roland mentions, people in this case, will not waste their time commuting, and this can be very benefcial. People engaged with remote works can expand their horizons learning new skills and abalities, spending their free time in attending advantegous activities. Since they are at their homes, they might even feel that they are more indepedent. In this regard, they would not feel that they are being controled by their boss or supervisors. That in turn, can affect how productive they can be. In my opinion, people are more productive when they think they are not controlled by others. Thus, remote work is a beneficial choice for people.

For most of the companies remote work has turned into a new practice after covid. I personally believe remote work is positive for most of the employees in a company. First of all, it is a good way to manage your own schedule. While you are at home you can check on your home, your dog, your maid and at the same time you are doing your work. Secondly, it might give people more confidence. Working from home give the employee the option not to dress formal; for some people this would be really positive. Hii Michael, thank you for helping us. This is my response to this question. While I can see where Roland is coming from, I am confident that remote work is not beneficial for both employers and employees. Remember that working remotely, many people will face health issues since they spend time sitting in front of a computer, and without even having a chance to commute. I believe that spending time traveling from home to work ensures some physical activity which will help workers be in shape. I strongly agree with Karen's point of view that working in place will help create relationships between employees and employers. I would add that managers usually look carefully at their staff members while they are working. Thus, working remotely will not give the whole image of a team. It is also worth mentioning that when people work together in a particular area, they are likely to make friends and spend time with each other.

My answer to the question, thanks for your feedback! Remote work has its benefits and drawbacks. The former are more obvious to most workers, especially the younger ones. They might be more acquainted with technologies that ease communication, and usually make remote work possible, such as videoconference or instant messaging devices. By contrast, workers who have largely performed in face-to-face environments, might have trouble adapting to a “new normal”. Regardless of staff’s preferences, companies are likely to have both technology savvy workers, and others who feel more comfortable in the workplace. What they need to focus on is productivity; thus, they should ask themselves: how are we more likely to meet our goals, through remote or in-person work? Which positions would bring advantages if carried out from home? If the answer to those questions is online working, then there is room for remote work; otherwise, there is no point in discussing that.

In my opinion, the benefits of remote work outweigh the drawbacks, and companies should provide their employees with such an option, which is consistent with Ronald's viewpoint. In this regard, I want to add that people have different productivity during the day, and when they are allowed to work from home, they can find the best time they have higher productivity. This can help them to perform their tasks more efficiently, which is beneficial not only for employees but also foe the companies they work in. Karen mentioned an important point: people in their workplaces can better communicate and cooperate with each other, something that does not happen through remote work. However, she overlooked the fact that with the use of technological tools, many employees can interact and collaborate with each other. In fact, nowadays, many successful international firms have staff members living in different countries, and they have no difficulty in their work.

I would like to add that by remote work people can work in international companies, which is an amazing opportunity that individuals should seize. For instance, If an individual making a transition to a new country, he will have to pay for all the living expenses. However, remote work cuts down the expenses and allows people to receive invaluable experience from their home country. Hi Micheal, thanks for the video, here is my response: I concur with Karen’s statement that remote working should not become a new normal, since its online nature. On one hand, working remotely could detract people from notifications. When working on a computer, people will easily be distracted by notifications, game tabs, and even emails. This will lead to a decrease in productivity and efficiency of the work. Moreover, working online prohibits people from socializing with colleagues, thus, disabling people from practicing socializing skills which is essential for interacting with clients. On the other hand, it is undeniable that remote working offers people a more flexible schedule to maintain their daily operations. However, I believe that during the working days, even if people are working online, they do not really receive much leisure time to spend as opposed to working in person. Therefore, I believe working remotely should not be considered as an optimal working method.

Hi Michael, thank you for your help ! This is my response : While I appreciate the points mentioned by Ronald and Karen, I think that remote work can both beneficial or bad depending on the circumstances. First, remote work is great for international companies that have clients and employees all over the world. In other words, remote work helps reduce work travel and contributes to making meetings more efficient for people connecting from different countries. For example, a client contacting a lawyer from another country for a specific transaction involving this second country, would be very pleased to know that meeting and working remotely is possible. However, remote work also leads to isolation and a weaker team spirit. Indeed, simple interactions in the every day office routine help build bonds between colleagues. For instance, when working in the office, people take common breaks, chat and have lunch together. Hence, remote work seems to be occasionally a good idea.

Your feedback is appreciated; Personally, I believe that remote work would be beneficial for several companies and I agree with Ronald. Working online has its advantages such as having enough time to do our tasks and also spend our time with family or friends. For example, working remotely will let us save the time we need to go to work and also it will remove the usual traffic jams that we face every morning and afternoon on the way to and from work. So, we can use this spare time to do our tasks instead of getting stuck in traffic jams. Although Karen puts this notion that presence in the work atmosphere will provide us with the opportunity to collaborate with other coworkers and lead to our promotion, it is important to consider that we can still be in touch with our colleagues during work time using online apps and also, we can connect them out of the workplace. Overall, in my opinion, working remotely would be beneficial due to removing transportation time to work.

Focus on improving your grammar. There are a lot of minor errors here. They will all add up. Avoid starting sentences with "so" or any other coordinating conjunctions. The e-rater doesn't like that. Don't use "puts this notion." I don't really know what you mean. You could try using my template: www.toeflresources.com/writing-section/toefl-writing-templates/ Overall, I think this one would score about 21 points, but I am sure you can do better!

In my opinion, the pros of working remotely surpass its cons. I concur with Ronald’s point that people tend to be more productive while working remotely. I’d add and talk for myself that I’ve been working remotely for a year now and I’m much more efficient and creative in my work now than I was when I used to go to my workplace every day. This is because I’m an introvert and when I used to work from an office, I’d have to interact with my colleagues formally or informally, and that would completely rip me off my cognitive capital. Consequently, I would feel too exhausted to focus on my work and come up with innovative solutions. But now that I’m working from home and don’t have to meet and greet my peers, I never run out of energy, and I invest that energy into being productive and active, which has also led me to get promotion twice a year. Overall, I believe working from home is better than working in an office.

I'm not crazy about "its pros... its cons." I guess it is fine, but it often looks awkward and clunky to me. Don't use "I'd and and talk for myself." Just say "I'd add that I've been...". Your version is really awkward. Don't use "rip me off my". I don't know what you mean. Probably just "would completely destroy my cognitive ability." There are other issues, but I will leave it at that. Overall, I think this one would score 22 or 23 points, but I think you have the grammatical ability to do much better. Just avoid weird expressions. Just be clear and concise!

I totally agree with Karen that relationships are made by working in the same working environment with our colleagues and, I would add that directly contacting with coworkers helps individuals more in order to receive promotions. In addition, employees can benefit from other experts by constantly attending work every day so, they are more likely to succeed by this procedure. While Ronald is right about flexible hours in working from houses but, he ignored working continually at home will be remarkably boring and enduring that is more challenging comparing to working in offices. Overall if we attend the offices instead of working from home, we are really more prone to advance in our future.

Remember to put the comma BEFORE "and." Not after it. Just use "directly contacting coworkers." Don't use "with" in there. But the comma BEFORE "but." Not after it. I think this one would score about 21 points, but I bet you can do better!

I think remote work definitely has both benefits and shortcuts, so the company can decide whether or not to implement the policy based on the type of job the person is doing. What I mean is, that if the kind of job really requires teamwork, it is better to set regular working hours and meetings for colleagues to communicate with each other. I believe it will not be as productive if people are working remotely and sending emails. On the other hand, if the type of work is solely individual, such as writing codes, the company can let the workers choose the way they prefer. Therefore, people can manage their time based on their schedules and be more proactive and willing to finish the task at the time and environment they prefer. Overall, these changes will help the company gain more productivity and benefit the enterprise in both the short and long run.

Good evening! I think this one would score about 22 or 23 points. There are a few grammar and language use errors that are hurting your score. Like: "benefits and shortcuts" (should be something like "benefits and disadvantages") "writing codes" (should be "writing code") "the task" (should be "their tasks")
