I just realized something terrifying about Van Augur... he can probably warp the bullets so they appear right bellow your skin and then do damage inside, some sort of substitute for Ryou. So the only way to counter this dude may be to either have a super strong haki barrier to nullify that (just like Law couldn't move BM or Kaido), or to attack before he even shots the bullet (have better observation than he has)

No one would complain if Yassop was to do that to Cracker. People forget that Van Augar was the one who Oda wrote to square off against Yassop in Marineford and the man already has a canon feat of tanking a Sengoku quake with the other Black Beard pirates. I've seen multiple people say this would make eos Usopp too strong but why did people ever think that Usopp wouldn't reach those levels when his dad (a sniper) is considered by many to be YC1 level and Usopp will be the sniper of the pirate King's crew yet people somehow think he would end up weaker than a sniper on another crew active at the same time as him.

John Bart having high defense stats does not mean that he could have any chance off beating Doflamingo let alone actually touch him. Also Luffy getting huge power boosts in a matter of weeks is okay, but a character like Van Augur whose full power we have never seen can't?

@@W_Juniorto be fair, we've never seen high level pirates using haki infused bullets in a fight (except for Ben in film red). Van augur himself can't be that powerful physically but his haki + weapon combine could easily be. As far as I can tell yasopp is feared worldwide cause he never misses his target, and that guy is a sniper just like van. It could be similar to how swordsman on avarage have high ap than most due to their lethalness.
Having just re-read the Luffy vs Cracker fight, it's important to remember that even the stronger biscuit soldier that Cracker was piloting and reinforcing from the inside with Haki got folded with one direct hit from post-dressrosa G4's basic attack, Kong Gun. The "two" hits were to break it's shield with the first one, and attack the actual body with the second. Compare that with Doflamingo. Does anyone genuinely think that even post-dressrosa, he would get folded by a single Kong Gun? Of course not. Even though he was outclassed in basically every category, Doffy was able to hang in there and take a ton of similar hits from G4. The major issue with Cracker was that as the fight drags on, the opponent gets tired and less effective while Cracker has an inexhaustible army with high defense. Unless you can make the biscuits softer or more brittle, that is. I don't think it's a stretch to say that Van Auger, with an anime high-powered rifle bolstered by Haki, could attack with a similar level of power to a basic (post-dressrosa) G4 attack. His basic attack is a pistol covered with basic haki, Kong Gun is infused with Luffy's strongest armament haki and his muscles inflated to make them even more powerful adding to his haki If you tell me Van Auger can reach that level with simple basic haki in his bullets i'm gonna call it bs
It is their fight on roof piece that is holding Law and Kidd from being good. They should get training from Sengoku/Jozu or turn 39 to 59 using Shinobu's ability. Otherwise they can't surpass Sanji, even if they win against Shanks easily.
I think Law's crew is cool if we look at it like them being greater than the sum of their parts. Like alone, they're not that impressive, but as a crew, they're very capable. That'd be a cool narrative.

Van Auger sniping biscuits means nothing. Luffy even in gear 4 was SIGNIFICANTLY weaker back then. Base Luffy is one tapping Cracker and those clones now. Zoro one taps, Sanji destroys them, I’d argue that Nami with Zeus could potentially cause harm to Cracker himself and Franky certainly could destroy a biscuit soldier. All this shows is that Luffy was behind the top guys who are all older than him and he’s now caught up and surpassed them. G4 was a transformation that helped Luffy push pass his old limits when he was too weak. Zoro one taps the G4 Luffy that faced cracker as the Haki gains has pushed them to new heights.
Crazy thing is , Jean Bart in the manga chapter 1064 actually blocked Van Augur’s sniper shot, and Van Augur said “Tch, that’s some bodyguard” or “that’s some strong defense” however it’s been translated in different versions. So, depending on how strong his sniper shots are Jean Bart is capable of blocking them casually
I think if he's not using haki but kairoseki bullets, it would affect devil fruits/abilities, that's why for the guy that protected law it'd be just a normal bullet, but maybe for law that could be fatal
- Usopp doesn't need to tank van Augur's shots, just avoid getting hit, and manage to hit him first. He'll definitely need observation haki to do that, though. The guy can teleport and hit his target from miles. - Van Augur's performance could have a flurry of explanations that don't make him actually stronger than G4 Luffy. Sea stone bullets ? Hitting weakest spot ? Kuzan's humidity + cold making Cracker's biscuits particularly brittle ? - Could it be thaty Kuzan used his Awakening ?
No one is talking about How good Doc Q's Observation Haki is. He use his power while the Heart Pirates are under the water and also he then saw Law nullify his power while they are underwater.
OR maybe just maybe, this guy is about S as powerful as Garp the Hero and Fleet Admiral Akainu and was simply strong enough to low diff the 4th ranked Big Mom Pirate.

Van Auger is using observation haki to pinpoint weak spots on his target, his bullets are still only bullets so if someone blocks it’s the same as blocking a normal bullet.
Isn’t it just possible that he’s using sea prism bullets? That would explain him destroying the biscuit soldiers but not being as effective against non devil fruit users.
Yall forgetting Auger is like the sanji of the BB pirates. He's the 3rd place and is the most trusted member. BB takes advice from him and puts him on the most missions. It's not crazy that the 3rd rank of a yonko can 1 shot dressrosa luffy. Laws crew got stronger too wouldn't be dumb to think the physically strongest of Laws crew could tank such a shot. Pre time skip he was folding a pascifista.
He's captain of the 3rd ship but It's never been stated he was the 3rd strongest otherwise that would make Burgess stronger than Shiryu. Him being the Sanji of the crew also implies he's gonna fight Sanji when the straw hats and Blackbeard pirates fight and not Ussop. Assuming Kuzan leaves the Blackbeard pirates at some point number 3 is most likely Laffitte since he holds the title of Navigator and Chief of Staff.

To be fair tho, the cold environment might have had something to do with the biscuit soldiers being that much brittle. Aokiji did cover the entire place in ice. And keep in mind that Luffy's Gear 4 is not the same as it was the first time he met Cracker. He probably can one hit blast those soldiers with his base form now that he's mastered Ryou.
My hope is that Ussop's big buff (outside Mjolnir lol) plays into his theme as the liar who's lies come true. I want him to develop his haki to the point that he can lie to his enemy's future sight/obs haki. I.E. Katakuri sees a future fabricated by Ussop, giving Ussop the advantage. Maybe even feints where sometimes he fakes a future, sometimes he doesn't. Make the enemy second guess their own haki
12:20 In the fight against Cracker, it took two shots from Gear 4th Luffy to destroy a single biscuit soldier (Ch837-838), first shot shatter it's shield, second shot blew through its torso through its own piecing attack, which tells me a clear hit on its torso would have oneshotted it with a Kong Gun, then in Chapter 842 Gear 4th Tank Man blew through three unweakened ones with a single attack, they are not as tough (in that way as we remembered), they were dangerous because they were endless as long as Cracker is active. Jean Bart while tough is not that hard to believe (still a bit too high but not impossible that he got stronger during Wano, it can't be that the Strawhats were the only ones training for the assult on Onigashima), because we have seen Kinemon (who was useless in Dressrosa) taking haki infused hits from Kaido, what is a Kong Gun equivalent attack compare to Kaido's attack? Also I am sure Mingo was also able to destroy a biscuit soldier himself with his higher tier attacks (such as the 16 holy bullets).

For me, the biscuit soldier situation is a question of force applied to surface area. Luffy's bound man fists are way larger than Van Augur's bullets and as such need way more force to break through the armour of the biscuit soldiers. The idea of structural weakpoints also makes a lot of sense. Does that mean Jean Bart could take a gear 4th punch? Maybe. He is a defence focused character after all.

I seriously doubt the animation staff was considering power scaling when they made that. They probably just did it because they thought it looked cool and it would get the 12-year-old average viewer base hyped. They're not catering to 30-somethings on the internet who review One Piece for a living.
I think Van Auger is Definitely that strong; if the BB pirates are going to beat the Red Hair pirates (which I think they will), it makes sense that he's this tough. As for Jean Bart...I do think he's that durable to block that powerful of a shot...but how many shots can he take? It wouldn't take long for Van Auger to just whittle away at Jean Bart until he was too exhausted to block. Jean Bart can take some strong hits but not forever; that's why he backs up his captain so he can dish out the damage.
I agree For Black Beard to beat Shanks his Major Concern is Shank's Crew. Once they can be dealt with Shanks is an Easy Kill for Black Beard since we know Black Beard beat him when he didn't even have both fruits and Shanks had two arms.
Van Auger has a hidden bounty of between 1,000,000,000 to 1,210,000,000. Yasopp has hidden bounty between 1,230,000,000 to 1,900,000,000. They didn't show shock or say "Mmm...". Making Van Auger >= Ulti, Yasopp > Queen > Van Auger and Akainu = Sabo >= Yasopp.
I don't think red lightning is conquerors. That's usually shown as yellow. My understanding is the red is flowing haki, like luffy learned from old man Hyo
Luffy in Gear 4th was smoking the Cracker biscuit soldiers. Literally one hit smash he was just making so many. Before luffy went Gear 4th he struggled but not while in it.
i think van augur can pinpoint the weak spots... he targeted law's weak spot but jean bart got in the way making the shot less effective... that's one way to explain that situation i guess

Anime fight extensions are canon. I made a video on TikTok a while back on how Toei made a statement in the past that they get approval from Oda for any anime or movie scenes, and this was before film Red. I can assume they definitely do this for the anime as well, as they have been all throughout Wano
The only reason laws crew “sucks” is we haven’t seen them shine in/on the water. Laws been solo with us for a long ass time but there is a reason laws crew got him where he is at now they ain’t no chumps.
I think with cracker, it could have been he had already been fighting therefore was tired and the soldiers were weaker, he was scared for his life and therefore didnt output strong enough soldiers for some reason, or (wildest choice) Cracker is able to infuse haki into his soldiers and someone's haki can be weakened when thoroughly intimidated. I guess it could just be that the head is the weak spot or he has sea-stone bullets.
