He did a vocal coach for Les Miserables... I thought he did a great job as Javert. Does he have the strongest voice, no, but his portraly of Javert was PERFECT! I also like what he did with Stars, he made it more itimate and soft, you know many people forget that Stars is indeed a prayer. If you wanna go hate please go do it somewhere else, as us Rusty fans don't want you here...
If you don't think Russell is a good singer why are you hear listening? If you can do better put your video out here or shut up! Tired of hearing all the haters! Step up and do better or shut your mouth. Sorry everyone, just really tired of stupid critics!
Have not looked this band up in a loooong time, went to two shows in Sydney in 1997 and gave the band, sans Russell (who was late) a tour of my ship, the USS Constellation. Had to haul Dean out of the engine nacelle of an S3 and out of a helo he was exploring. Was fun drinking bourbon backstage with them. Met up with drummer Dave at LAX in 1998. Exchanged emails with Dean when he was in Hong Kong, but forget the year. I have pictures if anyone wants proof. :)
I believe it was a very important portrayal of Javert for us modern audience, showing us how we behave the same way from time to time (or quite often), and be compassionate for him, maybe also rethinking our own behavior.
