A mix of clips compiled by me & placed to Clint Mansell's beautiful piece "Together We Will Live Forever". In my opinion, these clips are the most visually stunning & beautiful of Darren Aronofsky's film "The Fountain".
I trust you...take me It is a trap..what do we do?...We break through! Don't worry, we are almost there Death is a disease...and I will find a cure When you return, I shall be your Eve Together we will live forever. This is how some of us men are, in touch with our feelings. When you love someone, you do whatever it takes to be with that person..even if you have to charge into an army of Mayans, alone. That kind of fondness endures beyond death. Breathtaking..spiritual... true.
In my opinion one of the most overlooked films of recent years. I remember, quite vividly, leaving the theatre only to ponder what I had just absorbed...for hours and days. Something at the core of this movie took over me and was pushing buttons and posing questions. This film ALWAYS seems to be able to push me to the limits. Beautiful film, and in my opinion my favorite score put together by Mansell. Genuine film art.
This is honestly, one of the most amazing new "classical" songs ever made. This song speaks so much its brillant. Clint Mansell is truely a legend and should be revered as such.
My 18 year-old son died last April. I had already seen the movie, and now I "feel" it even more. This song moves me in such a way. The loss. It's immense. I just wish I were acting like Hugh Jackman, and not living the real thing. Beautiful song.
Darren Aronofsky, congratulations! Continue to surprise us, your work is very significant for all of us, their fans. The Fountain is a masterpiece, beautiful and profound.
Is the most painfull song I've ever heard...i dont know where to express my sad feelings in this moment,i dont wont to cry,i just want to scream,to scream and stop breathin no more...
translation of what @GeorgeMigeot beautifully said in German: Who has lived something similar will understand this.... The deep Pain can blind us, seclude us.... The attachment lies above the matter...but who wants to hear to hear this when the Heart bleeds... The most beautiful movie I have ever seen...great music and so much wisdom...
Watched this video and thought came to me: My dad died 11 year ago, I am ok now - no pain. I am thankful for the time with him. Then I looked at this from my mother’s point, and now it started to hurt. Not for me, for my mum. She still loves him, never married again, no boyfriends. I just wish people stopped loosing their loved ones because of death… All this talk, videos, statuses about “unrequited love” and break ups. People this is ok. Bad - is when person does not exist anymore…
when I listen to this it makes me cry and sad, but also happy, because I know that I was created by someone much higher than me and I was given a gift of love which I can't figure out how to take... this song shows my weaknesses and strengths - big heart and no belief..GOD IS A PLAYER...
At a musician, I am regularly asked to perform at both weddings and funerals; either with my orchestra or alone with my piano. Whenever the choice of Music is up to me, I'll play this as the last theme on funerals. It has never not been moving.
the film was supposed to star brad pitt & kate blanchett...i CANNOT imagine anyone else in the roles, such a moving film & one of the all time greatest soundtracks, they are such a believable couple, i would like to shake Hugh & Clints hands for this masterpiece, cant believe it almost wasnt released
,A mix of clips compiled by me & placed to Clint Mansell's beautiful piece "Together We Will Live Forever""true in my opinion the film it is sad souw music you choose corect!.......thanks for posting ,,"The Fountain"!
I just hope Jesus will accept me. As he opened my eyes, I hope we will live with him forever. The truth, the way and the life. God I m sorry I wasn't a better son.
This video is so well put together - I can hardly listen to the track without watching the scenes show here, they capture the essence of the movie and of the track perfectly!
@urwutudowhenitcounts Thank you very much. This song is just so perfect for my feelings of all of it. And I'm not usually sappy about songs. I think, knowing the movie as well, it's even sadder for me, because I can feel the desperation Jackman's character had to save his love. Sometimes this song comforts me, though, instead of just putting me in "that mood". Thank you again, it's very kind of you. Christine
The most ethereal music I've ever heard in my life this masterpiece is unforgettable that Clint mansel made .he is a true genius .it's out of the world .
Imagine watching this underrated masterpiece 2nd time after 1st you saw it with the person you thought you'll spend the rest of the life with...but then...she decided she can do better.
I always heard a piece of his and fell in love with it and never knew who created this piece until I asked and someone on youtube told me. His music is also fiery. I love how it is so full of life, anger and many other feelings. you are right he sure is a genius and a beautiful one at that!!!!!
@NAR106 You just contradicted yourself about Thallus, then. Express your arguments clearly if you want to convince me. As for the "many people believe it so it must be true"-nonsense: You've got a billion people believing in Hindu gods. Another billion people believing Muhammed spoke to an angel and was given direct decrees from God. Yet another billion Buddhists. There's nothing special about Christianity in terms of numbers of followers, nor is it an argument for its validity.
@NAR106 Their beliefs probably evolved from earlier cults; there have been many dead and resurrected figures in religion, just look at Egypt. Also, why couldn't John the Baptist have existed in such a cult? He might just have been a very talkative rabbi. Also, if the manuscripts of this "Thallus", whom I've never heard of, didn't survive how can you know what's in them? Also also, that many people are believers isn't an argument.
this this music i dont know how to start it is divine perfect fantastic emotional sad amazing peaceful loving beautiful just amazing :'( SUCH EMOTIONAL SONG
Well said my friend, you took the words right out of my mouth. I wanted to say something like that but you did it good. That kind of fondness endures beyond death because its so hard to feel again what you shared with the one you loved. Now she is gone but you still deny... you want to be with her forever. You regret all that time that you should stand next to her, all that time you thought save her but you just move away from her. You should have seen that because now she is gone.
@SuperFantasticFox and no, he references john the baptist, james the brother of jesus as well. historians consider the writings reliable. Thallus, who wrote about 20 years after the crucifixion references it, though like many works at that time the manuscripts do not survive. for someone claiming everyone else is dumb, your view is not even close to the majority, so claiming everyone else is foolish because they dont believe experts certainly makes sense
@SuperFantasticFox way to ignore half the post. if he didn't exist how would early believers start up? would the priests who caused his crucifixion (allegedly) in this case, not simply say "he doesn't exist?" why would they say "he was not the Messiah" if he didn't exist in the first place? Even more, why would apostles and early believers die gruesome deaths willingly in huge numbers, for something they would KNOW was a lie? that's inhuman behavior. tacitus also sa
@utukk so references to the Christ don't count? You ignore Jospehus by assuming all writings are forgeries, or at least should unless you ignore selectively, and let's just disregard the thousands who lived in Israel at the time and would've been able to discount the belief "oh that guy doesn't exist" when people preached he died in Jerusalem during Passover, Jerusalem being one of the most crowded city in Israel for that holiday. It would've been a short lived religion it that was the case
@thoth81 Every living being is a part of the cycle of life. Dying of old age is not the only way to go. Those "immortal" organisms you're talking sustain other life in death, so once again i'll say that death is a part of the cycle of life, you can't have one without the other. Those components you're talking about that get recycled...that's one step in the cycle of life. How can't you see that? So yes, we're part of it whether we want to be or not. No idea where your anger is coming from.
@thoth81 In saying that death is inevitable and that we should accept it, people are not saying that death is better than life, or that life is bad. People are saying that to fear death and strive to avoid it because it takes loved ones away from you is folly. Instead, realize it's PART of the cycle of life, not the destroyer of it. You cannot have life without death. So love fiercely in the time you have with your loved ones and live your life to the fullest. You're part of something beautiful.
@Stoksie01 Because you leave the world to others, and I as an non believer do think death is beautiful. Do what you want to do while you can, and when its time to open your arms to death just do it. Its natural, the real world don't care a shit about your feelings and kills you when your time comes. Everything that has a beginning has an end, and the beginning is beautiful so why cant the ending be the same?
@SuperFantasticFox Your grasping at straws for no reason other than your presuppositions. Denying for the sake of denial is no better. And you still have yet to explain how/why people (in the thousands) would all agree to make up a figure and die and suffer in his name for no purpose. Thallus's works are referenced by other historians, and some works of his did survive.
i could never live forever, because i couldn´t stand it to let my family and my friends behind ... even if i had the choice to die here and now or to live forever in eternity, i would choose the death here and now, because there is no one that would follow me and go beside me through time and space eternally
@thoth81 I don't see how you could stop aging without altering what we are at the most fundamental level. Our bodies aren't built to last forever. I don't think it is possible to make humans immortal through any form of therapy or drug. It would take extensive manipulation of the genome and reprogramming of what we are.
@mirrandathemaniac01 "The pain the actor is able to show is just amazing. I cried." ME 2 MATE... this movie is just f*ckin' amazin' luv it. y didn't the academy gav him n award. n Clint Mansell is just INSANE with the tracks. c'mon the "oscar's" gav to 3 six mafia n award for such n awful song, THEY REALLY F*CK'D UP with this one.
@mirrandathemaniac01 Hello Miranda. The Fountain was never based off a book. It was an original concept that the director developed over the course of many years. There is a graphic novel published, though, but it is also written by Darren Aronofsky. Then again, since you posted this question nine months ago, no doubt you already know that by now.
