What I thought was an electrical problem with this two-stroke, turned out to be a dirty fuel filter. The good thing about going off in the wrong direction is that it gives you I idea of what to do if you can't get your motor started.
Hi, friend. I had the exact same problem with a tohatsu 50hp 2 stroke. Following your advice, I disassembled the carburattors, cleaned them with compressed air and the engine runs great. Thank you very much for dedicating your time

Hey Matt, I have same motor and had same problem. I feel your pain. They are very susceptible to fuel starvation. If anything goes wrong with these I have learnt it is fuel obstruction, filter or air leak. So funny but annoying too. To find out what my prob was I replaced all fuel line, water separator, tank connectors all hose clamps, hose between tank connector and pre filter, carb hoses, took carbs off and cleaned like 40 times (can do it in like 5 minus now) haha, fuel pump gaskets, spark plugs and coils. OMgosh. It was a leaky fuel filter seal (the tears are real). I loved watching your vid together we could make a series on how annoying this problem has been in out life babahah. Hahaha I'm going through that now I already cleaned my carbs 5 times ( can do it blindfolded now lol) replace a lot of stuff and still no luck I still got few things to check...
I thought that was a brilliant video. I loved your approach - it's what I would have done! If it's electrical I always take apart the fuel system first, if it's fuel-related I always take apart the electrical first too! It's usually one or the other isn't it? I've noticed that. That fuel of yours was reallly reallly dirty though! Susbcribed!
Greetings my dear friend.. There is a 50 hp thatsu engine. 3 injectors are intact, the brain is intact, the fuel pump is working... but I think there is no fuel reaching the pistons. It works when I spray brake lining spray inside. I am a mechanical technician myself. Apart from the 3 injectors of the engine, there are also injectors inside the compartment called the log, I think they adjust the air and gasoline mixture. Could it be one of these?
