I am not the only one to come across rounded screws etc. This is what makes a straightforward job a pain in ass!

When I’m really stuck for parts or late at night emergency’s for a job like this and need to do the same for connecting two pan connections I put a small bit of 110 Mm waste pipework between them creates a wee bit better seal. But hey to each their own I’ve had lots of jobs with this exact situational reason at night trying to piece together can stock to get the toilet working nice vid 👍

Great fix, I do plumbing bits but not a plumber but marine engineer. Fixed all sorts of thing at sea. Yes I have had cowboy do work for my elderly parent, that I had to sort out when I was home from sea. Since then I have done her plumbing like leaking washers ball cocks. Don't like the use of plastic in these systems preferring copper and brass fittings. I even repair brass ball cocks and things. Great videos and keep up the good work.

Always support your valves with a set of grips when you have to put a spanner to them to shut them off...even more so when the previous plumber decided to do his install without the use of bloody clips!! 🤦🏻‍♂️ also just to add another little “top tip” when undoing chrome plates/top caps etc I use a wide rubber band to stretch around the edge and it works a treat m8!

Just fixed my low level bog, leaking from flush pipe. Had replaced old laminate flooring with vinyl, slight height difference. Old house with floor about 5 degrees tilt. Packed out under front of toilet with pieces of plastic to level it as causing stress on flush pipe and then sealed cistern to flush pipe with LSX as poor joint.

I am no plumber but strict DIY’r absolutely love your vids cheers bud 👍

I feel your pain James. I have a leak from the closed couple seal to deal with. And you just know when you start to move things around, other leaks will start from all the other seals, washers etc.

I can out do you toilet job mate - recently rerouted the vent pipe in my house - a day later the toilet started acting up and venting through the shower trap. My immediate thought was that a part of the durgo valve had dropped out and blocked the vent. Today got around to getting it sorted Redug up the floor to investigate what had gone wrong. Well Nothing!! You can guess where this is going can't you - Yep _ lifted the inspection plates right up to the public sewer and it was all full. A quick trip to Tool station (screw fix useless as usual recently) to purchase a set of rods and job sorted - all I can smell at the moment is Poo! Lesson learned? - don't assume you have done the job wrongly investigate fully before pulling everything apart. Hold tight !!

the only thing i would added to this job would be to replace donut washer while having moved cistern that much. My favorite saying while plumbing is { another day in paradise }

So what your saying is you don't like using the compression type tap connectors cos of the fibre washer, youd rather use a flexi with a rubber seal? Just wondering. Great vid mate

Do you have any advise on how to connect to a cast iron soil pipe? I tried a normal finned extended and it seems the fins cant go all the way in ...i think i managed to push it 3 fins deep into the 110mm cast iron .. but it leaks abit because the profile inside the cast iron pipe is not a perfect circle because of the way it was cast i suppose... i wire brushed it and cleaned it and sanded it ..still no joy sadly.. your advice will be great great great help! Just saying but Why didn't you pull the pan & cistern up from the floor & away from the wall & fit the new soil pipe connectors arrangement & replacement flexi without any struggling - change the tank connectors & donut maybe, & then lift the whole wc & drop it into the Floor soil pipe?

Hey. Can you use a flexi pan connector if your soil pipe is running backwards at 210mm?

I don’t know why I do plumbing as a job sometimes a simple job can become the biggest pain in the arse . We all try and save a bit of time trying to fix stuff in place but it’s rarely that simple. How often have we all filled something back up to find another part has started to leak or stop working ?

When the council changed our toilet the plumber made a pipe from the water stop valve to the inlet valve but it looks like he used a Yorkshire YPS62 fitting on to the plastic inlet valve so I'm wondering if this is wrong as I've had to change the fibre washer a few times.

the thing is you went to the van to get the replacement fill valve you could have got the right tools and wet vac then , dont rush walk slowly keep thinking

Did Stevie wonder install that bathroom?? 😂 Even though I'm only doing emergency work ATM I've had a lot of enquiries about outside hot taps (which I won't be doing yet). Obviously going straight on to the hot could be dangerous if a child turned it on etc. So is a TMV the way to go? Fancy doing us a little video on this? Thanks

Dear Plumberparts, I hope you don't mind a question from someone who's not a plumber. I'm due to have my toilet waste pipe seal replaced by the housing association that I rent from. I contacted them because when I moved in I saw a ring of brown fluid around the waste pipe which had leaked out from the waste pipe seal. I assume this was excrement. I cleaned it as best I could, but I didn't dare push the cloth too far under the rubber seal in case I made it even more weak, as it's clearly a very old seal. There must be lots more of this brown stuff under the seal and behind it, and if so, I'd like to make sure it's all removed. Please can you advise in regard to this hygiene issue, because I don't really want the plumber to just replace the rubber and leave all that build-up behind. I don't like the idea that a new seal will just be placed on top of a very dirty wastepipe. Many thanks! Carrie.

Question : On my toilet, the screws holding the pan to the floor (tiled) no longer hold. The whole thing rocks 😨. We had a leaking Flexi to the 4" in the wall so I think the wooden sub floor has rotted there. What could I do/use, without having to pull up the tiles?

Ceramic/Porcelain toilet on a tiled floor with no buffer? Surprised the tiles or something hasn't go cracks. Shouldn't it have some sort of putty under it as a buffer?

Blocked urinals are really bad. Poo is "tolerable" by comparison. Top tip: paper mask liberally smeared with eucalyptus oils and long rubber gauntlets are "de riguer". Helps inhibit the inevitable gag reflex.

I say "who would do that" quite a bit while plumbing.

My wife is in at me to change the flush valve on the downstairs bog as it's running (crap install 😡). I've told her it will take anything from an hour to a day 🤣 best to buy myself a bit of time just in case.

Hope you go back within the next 5 years to fit the multi fit pmsl.

All the time I say, ‘who even does that!!??’ 😂😁 Also, those cistern screws to wall are always so rusted no screwdriver will work only grips & lots of 😡 AND then masses of silicone holding to the wall!!

That actually works to last if you put a 3 inch band of soil pipe over the straight connector and then force it into the angled one. Ruff as dogs I know but new builds full of that method when needed #pricework yeehah
