Tokay Geckos are the most misunderstood geckos in the world! Tokay Geckos are NOT aggressive, they are extremely intelligent and defensive! They are not afraid to defend themselves but when they trust you they transform into one of the most rewarding species of reptiles you can keep. In this video we hang out with "Mr.Blue", a TAME Tokay Gecko owned by my buddy Nick @the_reptile_boutique!

We absolutely love our Tokay geckos. Through patience and consistency, they can become as tame as a Gargoyle gecko or Crested gecko. There is nothing better than a Tokay licking your arm or hand, or having a Tokay jump from your hand to your shoulder or head. They are gorgeous and amazing animals. Definitely worth the time to work with them.

We have so many Tokay Gecko’s in the wild here in the Philippines. When rainy days, they’re making “tuko” noise which is fascinating.

I never seen them in the philippines i've only heard them. They are so elusive to me. I look for them all the time. i just can't find them. I'd love to video record them for my biology professors. *Tuko! Tuko!* LOL

I got my first tokay in 1985 when I was 12 years old for $8 . He was the best . I kept a few reptiles then and had a few aquariums . I love tokay geckos still to this day

I remember watching Dion on Reptiliatus, and seeing all his progress with hand-feeding his tokay ‘family’. Maybe they’re just tamed for food, but it’s still pretty amazing how far you can go with training and working with any animal. Now he can hold a worm a few feet away from an open tank and they’ll crawl out onto his arm and then run back inside. Not “friendly” or cuddly by any means, but it’s a big step…

I have no intention of getting a tokay gecko but wow, I was very impressed by this care facts video. I enjoy learning about reptiles so I watch videos like this a lot, & this one stood out to me among the rest. The way you covered all of the bases in a very organized way was great. You were very clear & concise without using too many words or too few. I have a feeling your channel is going to blow up well past 200k subs in a short amount of time. Really awesome video guys.

I own the most chill and trainable crested gecko but i don't think i would dare to handle a Tokay... They are so beautiful though, but they seem more like an angry 'possum that a cuddly cat like my crestie is XD

We have a bunch of these in our home and they can get noisy. They're pretty chill though, keeps to themselves and eats up the nasty mosquitoes and flies.

When it comes down to it I own a bearded dragon and the “taming” was so unfulfilling and that’s why I’d like to work with a captive bred tokay because I need to earn and work with the animal for its respect and taming

Simply awesome they are, and I adore the way you treat them! I am now 46 years old, and when I was a boy I had quite a lot of them running around my parents apartment . 😀😀 they were regularly imported into Switzerland, my home country. Thank God this is now illegal, but there are not many breeders in Switzerland. They don’t seem to be en vogue anymore those days. Anyway, I have got a couple that is producing a lot of offspring, resembling their Thai ancestors. Beautifully colored, quite calm altogether. Only just wanted to let you know I would love to visit Florida one day by the way. 😀 Take care guys! And thank you for all your videos, you’re putting a lot of effort into this I know! As Thai. I admit your bravery. We consider Tokay as a pest in Thailand. No one has an idea to have Tokay as a pet. Let alone tame them.

leachies usually do not lock their jaws they just do it due to territory, Tokays want blood haha

Thank ya. I'll have to go watch the lecture. I'm living with the hill tribes in central Vietnam. I have a small brick-box house with a wooden room attached in the back. The house is full of these geckos. The male behind my fridge looks big enough to eat grown mice. Some geckos have gotten used to me and will run around hunting as I work. I've been worried about those living up in the space above my drop ceiling. We've been experiencing a long heat wave. Farmers have run out of water and the temps are coming in at over 100f+. I'm wondering if i should put out water or do something for my wall crawlen roommates?

Like a better comparison would be a dog that does bite and doesn't let go or adjust its bite pittbulls constantly are readjusting their bites because they don't have a strong down force

I had one that somebody traded me for some smoke. It came with the habitat and the heat lamps and he told me he ate mice. So i went and bought some mice and dropped them in there and he went crazy! Running along the wall attacking that mouse and shaking it to death like a pitbull. But then he just went back into his hide When that same dude came over for more weed almost 2 weeks later, I asked him about it and he said not “regular” mice, “pinky” mice. Which i had never heard of but the people at the pet store knew and the next thing I know, I was watching a dinosaur devour its food. I never bare handled him, I would always put 3 or 4 socks on the hand I had to grab him with and even then it hurt when he bit
