Great review. I have recently purchased the Tokina 11-20mm and its PERFECT for interior filmmaking. We do a great deal of window blinds shots and this baby is rock solid and exceptional value. With my sigma 18-35, theyre my fo to lebs that cover pretyy much 80 percent of all demands and both work great on the Weebill S gimble. Because they are similar in size and weight, rebalancing is very fast. If you want an affordable wide angle lens for low light, BUY THE TOKINA. Along with the Sigma, they are both smart investments

That's a great question! I didn't use the dock to do any tuning on my Sigma 18-35 because I use manual focus mainly, the tuning is for auto focus I think. Hope it helps! Thank you so much for your support!
This is exactly what I was wondering as I have the 6k with the 18-35 but want an ultrawide for indoors and astrophotography! I was curious about the gimbal balance for both so your comment helps me move forward... Just have to figure out which gimbal now (I'm thinking RS2 with range-focuser)

@@3dconceptsofutah757 Hi no as I am shooting combined with flash. I also for my ambient take 5 exposure stops as well. I find that f8 gets everything in focus from about 1ft to infinity. Also use f8 outside. It has worked for me! One less thing to worry about.

Thanks my friend. I just bought this new version and off camera I tried to move the focus ring from auto to manual and It wouldn't go fully down. You can imagine my worry. I thought something was wrong with it and I didn't want to force it too much and break it, but you might have solved my problem saying you need to move it round a little bit and it will go. Can I know if this Camera is EF or EF-S Lens, this answer is concerning me A lot, Because I want to use it with Viltrox Speed Booster on my Canon M-50, and That speed booster doesn’t work with EF-S Lenses. I can’t buy it if it’s EF-S Lens but if it’s EF I’ll buy it right away
Thanks for such a detailed review. I'm looking to do some Milky way photography with a Nikon D7500 but am confused whether to buy a Tokina 11-16 f2.8 ATX-i or a Tokina 11-20 f2.8 ATX-i. I've read some pretty good reviews about the 11-16 but also that it gives a hard time to focus at infinity. Kindly advise which lens should I go with?
I had a first version of 11-16 on my Canon 50D and I never heard the sound of the motor. Tack sharp and fast lens so personally I do not see any reason to buy this third generation lens imo.

What's the farthest distance you can focus with this lens when you're at f2.8? I recently got one and I just found out that the focus throw is like around 45-60degrees only. I notice when at f2.8, I'm not able to focus on really far subject.
Looking for advice on choosing the best wide angle, low light, AF lens for my Canon M50 shooting real estate videos and photos. Which one of these is the best choice or is there another you would choose for the M50 within a $250 - $400 range? Also, would the VILTROX EF-EOS M2 Auto Focus Lens Adapter 0.71x Reducer Speed Booster work well with these lenses? Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 - I don't mind the focus noise since I will be muting all the ambient noise for my real estate videos. Rokinon 10mm f2.8 Ultra Wide Sigma 16mm f-1.4 A solid lens but not sure it's the best for real estate Rokinon 16M-C 16mm f/2.0 Aspherical Wide Angle Rokinon never made the 12mm f2.0 AF for the Canon, so that's out unfortunately! Hey Henry, do you think to buy Tokina AT-X 116 PRO DX-II 11-16mm f/2.8 is nothing different than this newest version of Tokina? Somehow the price is different too but the image quality is the same.

That's a great question! If you are talking about how wide the lens is, it is the 11-16mm that determines it. 11mm being the widest, which is considered as ultra wide already. probably stupid question but can you shoot at 12 & 13mm on the 11-20mm tokina lens? Since it doesn’t have the 12 & 13 markings written on it. It goes 11, 14, 16, 18, 20

Hi, that’s a great question! The Canon 16-35mm F4 lens is a more versatile lens compare to the Tokina 11-20mm F2.8. But if you need the ultra wide, the Tokina is a lot wider, but the auto focus is very noisy compare to the Canon lens. Hope it helps! Thank you so much for your support on the video!

Yes, it will be better if you use a wireless mic to avoid the auto focus noise. If you want the best stabilized image, a gimbal will be a good idea too. Hope it helps!

That’s a good point, it converts EF mount lenses to X mount, which is the same among XT3 and XT4. Try to do a quick search and make sure it fits before you buy it. Good luck!
I really really really want a Tokina 11-16 but mainly for videos which require a lot of autofocus and this noise is a deal breaker... The other option was looking for is a Canon 10-18 but it has a poor low light performance also image quality isn't that exciting. What would you recommend for a wide-angle lens (EF/EF-S) as an alternative for Tokina 11-16mm that doesn't have that autofocus noise? Thank you!
That’s a good point and question! The autofocus noise is very loud on the Tokina lens, but there is nothing close to the same price range with such a good F stop. The closest lenses I can think of is the Canon 17-40mm F4 and the Canon 16-35mm F4. Or you can go with an external microphone for audio because that’s how I record audio usually. Hope it helps!
