Toku Reo, Toku Mana was a performance to celebrate Te Tau o te Reo Maori and brought together Waka Huia, Te Ropu Manutaki, Ngati Rangiwewehi and Waihirere kapa haka for the first time in a mass performance.
I remember this concert as I was there. We did the haka powhiri for the groups. Not to mention the footage of the greats performing all on one stage in Wellington. The party that night was cool too at Visionz. Memories.
Waiata poi Kahuri Au and Tangihia brought back many wonderful memories of yester year Kapa haka with Te Kahui Rangatahi down in Poneke early 70s with the amazing William (Bill)Kerikeri.
