STORYLINE:
Tokyo-based 'Sézanne' won the top spot at Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2024 awards ceremony in Seoul Wednesday.
Sézanne is known for its borderless culinary charms routed in modern French cuisine by Michelin star chef Daniel Calvert - who was present at the ceremony. Calvert honed his culinary skills in multiple cities, from London, and Paris to Hong Kong, and now in Tokyo.
Two finalist restaurants - Florilège and Sézanne - are both located in Tokyo.
It was the first time the awards ceremony was held in Seoul.
A Korean restaurant "Mingles" took 13th place on Asia's 50 Best Restaurants list.
"Mingles" was also named the Best Restaurant in Korea 2024.
