OMIYAGE is very popular in Hawaii too! There are so many cute omiyage at Tokyo Disney which makes it very difficult to choose just a few. Looking forward to going back when Japan reopens to visitors.
I find it interesting that in Japan they show a display of what you get inside the item youre buying. While here in the states you just buy the item and guess what it’s going to look like.
OMIYAGE! I actually really want to try the red bean jelly bar that you tried. I love red bean paste and imagine it is delish! Thank you for the fantastic content as always :)
Omiyage!!! I loved the Beauty and the Beast tin, the one just before the Tangled tin!! The Gaston one was funny too! I can't wait for the Disney Spring expansion! Will you be visiting the Studio Ghibli theme park when it opens? It's in Nagoya. Thanks so much for all of your videos!!
We have relatives living in Japan and have sent us before some of those crunch (16:07) with the flavors being chocolate and I think tea (most of us didn't like the tea flavor but snack is snack and I ate a bunch) but the tin is smaller than that on the video and a different design (I kept one somewhere in the kitchen to stash snacks in). I was also sent one of those little tins (17:11) but the candy is different (it was blue if I remember correctly). Because of the pandemic, no one could travel and so they hadn't sent us any these couple of years. I wonder if they would do so again someday. I wanna taste the other stuff featured in this video hehe (especially the cookies, chocolates, and rice crackers as my teeth can't handle tough candy right now). The packaging for many of them are so pretty! If our relatives ever sent us any of those, I'd fight my siblings to keep the tins XD. Omiyage :)
I really wish other countries did Omiyage. It would be so nice to have a tin of treats to enjoy when you get back from your vacation and share with friends and then you get to keep the tin as a permanent souvenir!
You're sacrificing your knees to show us all the delicious snacks Chris! I didn't get to try any Tokyo banana when I went to Japan so it would have to be the Mickey banana cake for me. Oh and the packaging with traditional Japanese designs are good souvenirs too! Omiyage~
Omiyage! I would if I could try all the cookies! I have a gluten intolerance so that makes it difficult, but I can have chocolate! I love all the beautiful packaging. Wow, the detail is amazing. I would definitely buy the ones that look like books and store little collages that I make in them. I am also attracted to the design for the bean paste box.
Omiyage! I wish the Japan Pavilion at Epcot here would sell some of their delicious snacks in those Japanese tins. I can only imagine the amount of $$ they'd bring in from that alone!
The Price is Right wheel and that tomato soup… right in the stay home sick from school nostalgia! The banana sponge cakes looks delicious 🤤 love the OMIYAGE videos. 🍬🍡🥮🥠
I would want to buy everything. The packaging is adorable 🥰. I would try the Dalmatians cookies and the tea chocolates. So hard to choose just one or 10..lol. Keyword Omiyage
Omiyage: My wife said "I wish he would tell us how many grams are in those things!" So please do that next time, Explorer! Oh, and you mentioned that you get mistaken for an American at times, I assume by the Japanese. What is the reaction when they learn you are from Canada?
Omiyage! I was supposed to be visiting all the Asian Disney parks this springs as part of my around-the-world trip, but I had to drop that section of my trip. 😔 So I'll need to live vicariously through you until I can do it in the future.
Those little miso and tomato soups are adorable!! I once had a client who went to Japan all the time and would bring back omiyage after trips! So yummy! I think she gave me the apple pie ones and I remember it was quite good!
It's really cool seeing the different types of snacks they have. I didn't know what the term was so learn something new! At the 12-13 minute mark, I was excited about the Rapunzel when you teased at the start of the video and I really like the box... but I was torn about Rapunzel being on it, lol. It might be off center placement but it feels like had it just been a mini landscape painting with the embossed tin, it would be nicer... However, I feel the opposite with the Beauty and the Beast one. It is centered which I liked but it also kind of looks like they just stuck a sticker on a tin. Maybe if the background blue wasn't so saturated or if Beast and Belle were part of the stain glass it would feel more connected to the tin like if Rapunzel's was more of a landscape painting. Could be me liking more of the minimal/homage with motifs that comes to my mind seeing the embossed filigree. The tin is still nice and we'd know what it is referencing if you don't paste characters on it (which I get, I.P.'s going to do that with everything and and I think most of the other merch with the characters are good, like the small Mickey Minnie one near these two or the Gaston tin). But these two are kinda off, is it just me? Idk I still kinda like it and would want to try painting the Rapunzel on to see how it look. Then I absolutely lose my mind over the set of book tins. I in general love packaging designs and storage but for whatever reason, make it shaped like a book and I need to restrain myself from impulse buying everything, lol. They look so cute and I love it's a set already together, I also really like having complete sets so anytime there is a multiple of anything, I need all of them so getting all 5 for 1 price is great. If I was there'd, I'd definitely get the mini books (also that Book-shaped Beauty and the Beast chocolate tin).
I would definitely go and get that Gaston from that restaurant Gaston’s tavern as shown on 0:03 I would definitely would like to buy it for sure #omiyage#
OMG Chris! I'm a big Tangled fan and I totally freaked out when you mentioned the ride in 2023. I'm already binging on your videos because I plan to spend my birthday there soon. I can't believe it's so timely that I get to find out about the ride through you as well! So so looking forward to it! Thank you for your video
OooommmiiiyaGeeee! Why am I so late.why? Lol My first experienced with omiyage was when my aunt gave me a mickey shape candy. It was so cute and I don't want to eat it so i tape it at our scrapbook. And oh behold a new colony of ants arise after 2 weeks hahaha Anyway I love to try the banana caramel sponge two of my most fav lol. Your always got us covered Chris Thank you. Excited for 2023 tangled theme!
hi Chris I love おみやげ once a Japanese teacher I had gave me a origami book it has hundreds of different things you can do but I´m nit good at doing hat kind of stuff 🍭
I feel basic for this but I'd go for the ramune, we have a few candy stores around where I use to live that has a section dedicated to candies from Japan & whenever I picked up candy from one of those places, I'd make it a point to grab the ramune because I like the flavor & it's easy for me to get started on them then find out I ate the entire contents in a sitting on accident. Usually I'd only grab it for special occasions like when I went to a con or something which is why it's been like 2 1/2 years since I've had some & seeing them in that little tin made my mouth water. Also, I moved & where I am currently doesn't have much in the way of candy stores so now I'd actually have to travel to get them or order them online.
hey TDR i have a question...I have a shellfish allergy ( can't have shrimp/lobster/crab, but regular fish is fine)...it has not been life-threatening, I can usually just take a benadryl if I happen to eat some food that has been cross-contaminated with allergens. it seems like shrimp especially is extremely prevalent in Japan. do you know if they are accommodating at all for allergies? i guess it would depend on the place. disney seems like they would accommodate shellfish allergies, but like small street food stalls, probably not. just curious, have a five-year plan to travel to Japan to go to all the parks! :)
Omiyage! I loved this video, first time watching your video and not last, I am going to Japan and Tokyo Disney for the first time next year and I can’t wait to buy all the snacks, but if I had to choose just one, it might be the banana cakes, they looked good, would rather chocolate filling, but would still like to try the caramel filling.
Good sir, I refuse to use keywords, you are just going to have to have faith that I watched this entire video! That said... I feel like those prices aren't bad, I looked at the same stuff at the Pokemon Center and they seem to charge around the same amounts, but for less items. (I mean specifically like cookies and chocolate)
I love your videos and we are planning our second holiday to Japan and Disneyland and Disney Sea in the next year ahead. Its nice to understand the flavours of the rice crackers and cookies before buying, especially not understanding Japanese fluently. Thank you, very informative and fun video. We love Omiyage!
I tried looking to see if it said where it was specifically but couldn't see anything. I do know a while back there was another bottle of honey that said it was from Alberta!
OMIYAGE! I started watching your blog like a month and everything is so good. We need to talk about Gaston good laugh 😏that to good yes to him😄😄!!! Be safe and take care keep doing the good work!!❤
OMIYAGE!! whenever you do merch videos my favorite part is always the omiyage, especially since it's the stuff I spend the most money on the few times I've been 😭
