I remember for years I thought that in the torture scene Jason was pulling out his nails because they turned black. I thought he was pulling out the nails, they were bleeding a bunch, then they regrew and the blood under the nails dried up and turned black. But I rewatched it yesterday and it turns out he was cutting off his fingers and toes. So I’m not exactly sure why there was blood around his nails because the regeneration process doesn’t seem to be very bloody.

I just think that the manga portrayed the emotions in those characters way better than the anime and it also made more sense in the manga but the point that made Tokyo Ghoul so good for me is the Narrative and how there is no good or bad and everything is depicted in a morally grey area and makes you think about what could have been done to avoid tragedies such as are depicted in Tokyo Ghoul and no matter how you put it, it definitely says a lot about the real world and how people feel who live between two conflicting worlds and what it's like to see everyone you liked get killed and still be able to understand your enemies motivations and humanize your enemies, it tells us something about the worst pats of conflict and what is actually worth saving and what's worth letting go! That's the main reason i like Tokyo Ghoul, i also like the concept of the Grey Jedis in Star Wars (still hate what Disney did) but you get what i mean!

The only sad thing is that you can't hear ken kaneki's finger cracking when he gets mad. FYI Gigguk made a video about the manga of tokyo ghoul, he probably did a better explanation than I did. GO watch it
