I was born in Tokyo, lived there until I was four, then moved to a large Navy base in Yokohama, and lived there until I was six. I then came to the U.S., where I grew up in San Diego. I have lived in Los Angeles in 30 years. Tokyo has changed a lot since I left Japan in 1965, so this video allowed me to see the 2016 version of the city I was born in.
Everything is so clean and beautiful. All the drivers use their turn signals and are law abiding. Everything is orderly and amazing. Can't wait to go there.Thank you for the great video.
ValiantSkyRider720 That's because to everyone Asia = China, even though they forget that Asia is the largest Continent. Hell, Turkey is considered part of Asia.
When I was a kid my dad would take my brother and I on night rides in the summer to help us fall asleep, plus the cool air was perfect. When we got home I was out like a log.
There's something magical about Tokyo. It's the same kind of magic that natural wonders like mountains or waterfalls have, only this wonder was created hy humans...
I worked in construction for a couple years. Most people don't have any idea the amount of shit that goes into building just one of those buildings, and that's what makes it even more impressive to me
+ChinnarajaChowdary Yes Bhai, our PM's best friend is Shinzō Abe, Japan is our best friend. Tokyo alone has a GDP close to $2 trillion, making it a larger economy than Spain or Portugal, individually.
so relaxing, Toronto, Canada could learn alot about driving in the city and architecture, Japan has so many cool bridges, skyways, tunnels... its like the city was built with the though of the "at night downtown driving experince" very cool !
This video simply just does not do Tokyo/Japan justice. it's one of those places you have to visit yourself to see and experience for yourself. it's totally mind blowing, it's like going to a different planet. it is amazing.
Every time I see Tokyio I get the feeling of some 20millions souls merge into some mighty creature. I fell its strength and its majesty, but yet I feel some kind of being home. Tokyo is dazzling!
do you mind if I use this for a small part in a personal project I am making? If not do you know where I can find steady footage like this that I can use?
+MisterDopeTunes Perhaps it's the socialism. Their roads are probably maintained because they value them and spend money on infrastructure. The U.S. doesn't believe in infrastructure, or the public good. If you can make a profit on maintaining the roads in the U.S. you'll have clean roads. Since that model doesn't work very well, we don't.
I see they finished all the detailing on that bridge. It was so ugly when I last visited a few years back. And it's nice to see the TK tower light up like that.
Japanese drivers are probably the kindest in the world. First of all, acquiring driving license is very different here, its much much more strict and educational. For instance, you will almost never hear a honk on japanese road, ppl dont get mad and shout, as it is taught that honking is only for emergency and not for personal irritation. U will be surprised how quiet it is here haha
Omg that endless city scene at night! I put some house music to background and enjoyed, that is something I could do forever! Thank you soooo much for this video, my dream is to drive this road some day myself! =)
i live in a small village in germany with like 100 people, seeing this makes me speechless at night you can drive 50km here and see maybe 2 other cars and there? wow
Unprecedented! I was hooked. Tokyo seemed elusive though even like any typical city but huge and the driving was like another minset with great pace and ease reminding me of how dense and unpleasent it is to drive large U.S. cities. This time it was poetry in motion.
I like night driving in general, especially in a magical place like this. Reminds me of back when I was a kid flying to Texas with my family, getting in the car early in the morning and driving to Hartsfield Jackson in our Honda Accord listening to Josh Groban. I recreate the experience here, except listening to Rush's Vapor Trails album from 2002.
Nice video ! The highways in Tokyo aren't smooth as many junctions make them bumpy. My videos while driving, recorded with a standard hand camera, give headache in the end whereas your video is really clean. What is this "original stabilizer" that you mentioned upper?
Hi! I really enjoyed this video, it has the right feeling of the night city that I was looking for! Can I please use it in my video? Of course with credits to you
What a place should be the captital of the world! Love the series of tunnnels half way through looks like they had just been polished before we got there. I can tell that the drive was one big loop due to the bridge, how many miles did the journey cover? Could you do a video drive from Toyko to the beautiful Mount Fuji?
No offense, but I'd preferred you listening to the music on headphones and only recording the lovely sound of the car. I'd open my music in another tab and it would feel like I was driving myself ;) Btw what is it you're driving?
How do the toll booths work? Do they scan your license plate and charge you or do you carry some equipment with you? Maybe they work in some completely different way ?
What I like to do is mute the video, set it to double speed, and play Gorillaz-Tomorrow Comes Today alongside it. It fits surprisingly well, especially when you consider that the actual music video for the song is mostly time-lapse footage of London with the band members superimposed over it.
