My family just came from our annual Japan trip and stayed in Tokyo from June 4 to 19th. Weather was cool almost everyday except for like a couple of days that hit 30C. We couldn't be more happier as a lot of friend told us it is a bad month to go to Japan but honestly weather was way better compared to previous years we went to Japan that rained a lot more, April 2018, March 2019, May 2023. Nov 2019 was also perfect weather everyday. It only rained on June 18th 2024 from early morning to like 3PM, we were so lucky as it was our stay home and pack our luggage day. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
@@shadowmod3 I think most of the ppl overhere would love some nice temps (something like 25°C) and a bit of sunny weather instead of all this rain and under 20°C in june, it's too low for this time of year, even in NL. It's just depressing weather so far in 2024.
im coming back august 6th-16th to spend at a racetrack in Nihommatsu im so excited its been 6 years since i was there the hot weather doesnt bother me since i lived in las vegas for 7 years and currently live in new york where the humidity feels like you need a shower when you walk outside
Just got back from 3 weeks out in Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and we were very lucky to have experienced a very dry "rainy season" for our trip. Can't wait to visit again !
Hi John, I arrived in Japan last Jun 13 at KIX with my wife and 3 children.. Fyi, the weather was very good without rain until Jun 15, but in the evening, around 8-9 pm it was light raining We visited Nara and Kyoto day return from Osaka on that date . We enjoyed it with good weather without rain as well... On Jun 16 and today we're in Nagoya-Takayama-Shirakawa-go and back to Nagoya for evening ride by shinkansen ahead to Tokyo with good weather as well .. I have just found out that tomorrow will be heavy rain the whoe day and night as per forecasted 😢😢 Oh no... TDS tickets were issued for tomorrow ( June 19 ) . We bought it last week . No return No change date allowed 😀😀 Fiuhh !!
Love your videos John, we finally made it back to Japan after 6 years. Perfect weather! Agree the pancakes are awesome, we went on Wednesday(12th June) and the wait was not long at all about 20mins.
Nooo lol don’t jinx the rainy season to come yet! We are coming for our first trip next week but I see it’s coming and will rain our entire week 😢headed to Tokyo, doing a day trip in Kawagoe and Kamakura. I wish we would see the sun while there but according to the weather apps it’s not gonna happen for us. 20-28 of June we will be going ❤ I knew it was rainy season but I was still hopeful for a sunny day or two like you have now, I’m so bummed out. It is the only time we could have came though.
@@tricias1227Thank you. that’s true, will be easier to walk if it isn’t blazing hot sun all the time. Some stuff we do will be indoors but we have a couple day trips planned though which is mostly outside in those areas like Kamakura and then Kawagoe.
We had mass rain over our summer back in December through to Jan, even though the national weather agency predicted dry weather, screwed a lot of farmers. Very unusually humid. Still, I was glad to be in Japan during the start of Auatralian summer 😂. Even now in winter, its very humid and nights have averaged 16*C when normally it should be 11. Not sure how this year's Summer is gonna play out.
@@onlyinjapanGO I always ask for a Mug at Starbucks, but sometimes the staff only gives Paper Cups. And I think the coffee is more delicious from a Mug than from a Paper Cup.
Just flew back from Tokyo 12 hours ago and the weather was perfect. We were scared we would get rained out at Tokyo Disney but we couldn't ask for better weather.
I'm coming to Tokyo next weekend I hope it's not too hot. Last time I went to Kyoto my shirt had sweat absorbed it looked like I spilled water on it. It was that hot.
I remember that year, it wasn’t so bad. This was a few months after the tsunami and earthquake and we were running food up to Tohoku. Depends where you visit but some years are better than others - but we do need the water. Typhoons usually bring a lot.
I’m currently in Tokyo and it’s too hot for me! I feel heat exhaustion creeping on me unless I have a 2 litre bottle of Pocari sweat and another one of water with constant breaks in the shade and AC
I found a kimono in Kyoto at a shop in what looked like the Dotonbouri (spelling?) area in Osaka, but it was an indoor Kyoto shopping area with the glass rooftop. It was supposedly second hand, but it is in excellent shape, brand new. I paid very little for it!!! Iit's silk (according to my Japanese friends, it ceraintly looks it) as well as beautiful. I managed to buy an obi in the states to match it at a Japanese shop in the mid-west.
It's just the beginning of Summer, first 2 months or so you will experience extreme heat, heatwave and around September - October you'll probably get what you wish for, typhoons usually hit around the end of summer......
I don't think its officially rainy season in Tokyo. Even then they seem to call it before it actually starts raining. We should look up what it takes to decide rainy season has started. They only called the start of rainy season in Kagoshima Friday last week. We are getting rain now but werent when theseason officially started.
You’re Right, it’s NOT allowed, I showed you the signs and he will get tackled by those guard and many fined if the cops get him for Going that fast. Crazy!
@@onlyinjapanGOMakes sense, I'm better at remembering faces than names too :) It was also nice to see you again after 5 years :) I'll have to see if I can find some more coasters in a new variant for the next time I come to Japan in a few years 😜
Why does happy pancake have such a long wait? That's absurd. It's funny because when I went to the one in shinsaibashi, it was completely dead lol. The food is good but overpriced
@@onlyinjapanGO My in-laws have a bunch of blueberry bushes and we pick a few kgs every year. We eat most fresh but freeze some to have throughout the year. If you ever get the chance come do a video in Toyama
points out rainy season in south Japan then asks why it's not rainy in central Japan as if rany season means london weather🤣 Also 2 days later and it's raining in Tokyo and will do so all day and likely most of next week too.
I feel that it's mostly the Chinese and Korean tourists that shop at the drugstores. I don't think it's something North American tourists are interested in.
The chat said they heard them say Indonesian. I heard Malaysian. It’s not a big deal to me 🤷🏻♂️ I don’t really care about people’s nationality, just their kindness and manner. I’m more curious to know if they traveled far and have jet lag. Indonesia and Malaysia are close, so no jet lag. Don’t get upset 😂
