Welcome to Rhodes Walking and Walk 5:
Walk 5 takes you around the Tolkien Trail following the footsteps of JRR Tolkien, the walk also takes in 3 rivers (the Calder, Ribble and Hodder).
This is a easy walk and is a must for any Hobbit or Lord of the Rings Fans, and lovers of walking in Lancashire.
Conditions:
Can be very wet and muddy in fileds at the start and in winter especially in the last field going back into Hurst Green.
Resonable level of fitness neaded but walk is mostly flatish with just a couple of ups and downs in this Tolkien Trial Walk around Lancashire.

Thanks Jake, really questioning if to keep posting routes at the moment as the views and subscribers are quite low. But I’m glad you enjoyed the walk it is a good walk.

I think you got your rivers mixed up. The hodder doesn't meet the Ribble until after Cromwell's bridge, the Calder meets the Ribble

You got where the River Hodder joins the River Ribble completely wrong its not at the 2 mile marker (there is only a weir there) the Hodder joins the Ribble about 100 yards after walking through the farm, just before the 4 mile marker, plus the walk doesn't actually traverse the River Calder so technically its a 2 river walk. However this is a great walk a would recommend it to everyone

Yes, I noticed that mistake too. The bridge he stood on to view Cromwell's Bridge is known as Lower Hodder Bridge, so obviously he was still on the River Hodder at that point.
