Now she’s wanting to change the name because it’s offensive. Let’s just give our whole country away. This is getting sickening!!!!!

Dixie's a good beer name to bring back to New Orleans and MAYBE the 1907 recipe will be a tasteful winner but the Dixie I drank back in the day was the same tasteless, insipid, carbonated schlock that all American beers of the pre-craft beer era were known to be. If the new "Dixie" isn't going to provide a taste experience comparable to the better Abita Brewery offerings, for instance, then, pray tell, WHAT IS THE POINT? (Something like Abita's "Turbodog" is my own preference but I'd settle for a new brew with the taste of a good "Amber".) That being said, I would LOVE to drink Dixie beer again from those iconic cans & bottles ~ but only if it tastes like real beer!

Why can’t pretentious beer snobs like yourself ever let people drink what they like in peace?

Complete and utter horseshit! Dixie Beer was going under before Katrina, due to its headache inducing piss taste. Besides the Blackened Voodoo, the other Dixie beers sucked ass! I hope they embrace today's industry and turn it around. In the meantime its Parish Brewing's Canebrake or Spotzel Brewery's Shiner Bock for me.

Aw, you just happened to taste that bad batch back in... when was that? 1979? "Headache-inducing"? Dixie was the beer that "Leaves you with a bright, cheerful tomorrow"!
