when Tom Brands says GO you better FINNISH THAT REP ! we all know if you get weak in a workout Tom Brands will make you bite the head off a kitten and eat it before mandatory 5 mile barefoot run thru the Iowa snow at midnight. If you die its no great loss because you were too weak to wrestle for Iowa
Mike Zadick working out like a savage: 0 National Championships Joe Williams walking around like he's lost: 3 X National Champ 4X AA. Some dudes just have that IT factor.
This is one thing that I incorporated when I went from wrestling to boxing, the weight lifting. There's still some old school coaches that thought lifting weights in boxing was no good
These workouts are as much psychological as they are physical. Hearing your coach in your ear, knowing he's watching, knowing he's standing there with zero intention of physically spotting or helping you. It translates to the mat, and ultimately to life.
There is absolutely no reason to do this man if you want strength do regular curls not cheat curls I mean these guys aren’t bodybuilders for crying out loud
Hilarious how armchair bodybuilders criticize the strongest wrestlers in the country. This is how you lift for wrestling, and terry knows how to do it and how to win
@@gvlog3614 Huh? Dude you have no idea what you’re talking about. Don’t be an ignoramus. A D1 wrestler is going to be stronger pound for pound than 99.999% of all athletes.
@@deanodebo1380 Nah NFL athletes definitely top D1 Wrestlers on strength. Wrestlers just have great muscle endurance, don’t mistake that into being overall strength
@@gvlog3614 They also have a lot of grip strength which is something that football players don't care about. Did you see the video of that fight in the bathroom between an Oklahoma football player and his big friend vs two random wrestlers? The football players got slammed. Sure some of that was technique but a lot of that was just being stronger than those guys.
It’s not about technique it’s about power... when your bodybuilding you worry about form. Iowa wrestlers don’t care about physique, they care about overpowering their opponents
this is the bulking workout they do in the winter. check back in a few months for the summer shredder workout, where they'll bust out the concentration curls, & calf-raises.
Emphasizing Explosiveness. In Wrestling, you must have the Strength and Power to Explode, Lift and Twist from any Angle. That's why I would bring my Teammates with me to Heavy Moving Jobs. It involved constant carrying and lifting different heavy objects and carrying them from weird angles. It toughened their wrists and hands.
