Cruise is not nuts. What makes you say that? The majority of people are nuts. They believe in gods and killing things. Tom ascribes to a system that works for him (that has nothing to do with aliens or any rumored bullshit). It's a positive system of being proactive. He's gone off on a news anchor for going along with this bullshit pharmaceutical industry that is only interested in selling drugs, drugs that harm instead of cure.
Fuk You I don't think hes nuts at all either. But don't knock the pharmaceutical industry. It's the doctors who over prescribe and prescribe unnecessary meds, or prescribe sometimes expensive medications when its unnecessary. People depend on the meds that otherwise would not be available without the big pharma. It's actually rather nuts to believe the pharm industry is a single bad entity.
Guys I know this is all good fun however, but people should stop dumping ice water on their heads. If you want to donate, donate. You don't need to dump ice water on your head to do that. This is actually not good for your body at all. Your dowsing yourself in an ice slurry that is at an approximate -1 to 0 degrees celsius. Many weeks ago when the first wave of this craze took place a man in New Zealand actually *died* of a heart attack shortly after participating. The ice cold temperatures sent his body into shock, had a heart attack and died. I'm not saying everyone will have this happen to them but you should still not do this. You can still contract *Pneumonia*, or even trigger the "protective airway reflex", which closes the larynx, slowing the heart rate and *causing a person to stop breathing*. There is a chance that some people will react very badly and that someone will die, and it might not be immediately. Please realise that this is a serious hazard to your body and is a *stupid, stupid thing to do*.
Brian Harrington Why should I get this hostile reply from you? Here I am trying to get people to preserve their health, then this. You disgust me. There are other things to do in life than dump buckets of ice on your head like a moron.
***** You have completely contradicted your statement in your first, quote, unquote sentence. Logic cannot be 'mute', as mute in it's simplest form means 'without noise'. You were obviously looking for the word 'moot' but it too would still be out of place. Please for the love of the giant spaghetti monster in the sky, know the word you using. This seems to be a common mistake made by people on youtube trying to appear smart, when they clearly have no idea.
Macconator2010 If you have health issues that make you immunocompromised, or if you have heart problems, then obviously you shouldn't be dumping buckets of ice water over your head. But healthy people? Please. Ever hear of the Penguin Plunge?
If someone is at risk of a heart attack or pneumonia, of course they shouldn't partake. That is common sense. However, you are completely wrong about not joining in at all. If no one did the challenge, then awareness for the ALS and donating would not have grown. The whole point of making it a challenge was to raise awareness and gather more donations. If there was no challenge, guaranteed 90% of the people who watch these wouldn't know what ALS is, and it would be like any other donation company struggling to find ways to gather donations.
Thank you Tom for all your years of film especially the MI franchise where i get to see your newest stunts which is my favourite part. I also did the ALS ice bucket challenge with 1 bucket, you did 8. You are truly a brave man. Please keep up the great work.
Wow, the hostility toward someone who simply points out that that water is, in fact, drinking water and could be used for... Well... Drinking instead of dumping it on your head... Is a little too much. I agree with Matthew!
One day we will be In a serious water drought and it won't be fun games anymore. It's sort of ridiculous to me that you could be so careless about something like this hey that's you I guess I won't Judge.
The ice in the bucket is supposed to symbolize your body becoming numbed as a result of the disease. Some people know the reasoning and are continue doing it to show their respect to those who have to live with it everyday.
VERY WELL DONE, Guys ! We're ALL Proud of you Guys for MANNING UP and doing this in such a Great Way ! Congrats and Hats off in salute two VERY CLASSY Guys !
Love it! Our company just took the challenge too. Isn't social media GREAT... that we can all come together in a fun way to make a real difference for those battling ALS. Thanks Tom and Chris! You guys ROCK!
