He should honestly stop saying that lol. JJ McCarthy has clean mechanics but still throws the ball behind receivers all the time and only has one 3 in his club and that’s the fast ball. He does nothing better than Maye. Also if your inaccurate but have clean mechanics, it doesn’t get much better for you (JJ) , put JJ in unc offense as well and the kid probably doesn’t get drafted till day 3

@@marceld8961 with that Michigan team and harbaugh as his coach , he would have had better stats and film then jj at Michigan too. JJ on that nc team probably doesn’t go till late day 2- mid day 3.

@devonfoster241 I'm a Michigan fan, but here is why this team was so special, they didn't have a lot of 4 and 5 stars on their team. JJ receivers are Cornelius Johnson and Roman Wilson. They are solid, but they don't have an oh my goodness to them or being a freakish athlete. As far as Harbaugh being his coach, that proves my pint more. JJ already played in a pro style offense at Michigan. You can't not a qb for having a great coach. That's like knocking off Patrick Mahomes because he has Andy Reid.

@@marceld8961 you give Drake Maye Colton Loveland & Roman Wilson and Michigan averages more points with Maye than with JJ & just cause someone plays in a pro style offense doesn’t make them better than the next guy. Prepares them to handle an nfl huddle which isn’t easy but other that that doesn’t make a difference. No one is saying JJ is better than Caleb who played in a non pro style as well

Tom needs to shutup, Maye has a massive arm and is way more athletic this JJ lol. JJ just reminds Tom of Mac and hes still salty about Mac. The media hating on Drake isnt good at all for his development, especially if fans start buying into what Tom is preaching. Drake Maye is raw right now and everybody knew during the draft that he needs to work on his mechanics. Guess what, if he has that much arm strength with bad mechanics could you imagine what his throws will look like after he fixes his mechanics? Top 5 arm in the league all day..

@britneyystaples91 Did you watch the combine? When all the qb,'s were throwing Joe Milton actually has the strongest arm in this draft, he''s just not accurate. JJ threw the second fastest. Josh Allen and Joe Milton is the qb's to ever throw at 62 mph. JJ Mccarthy is behind them throwing 61 mph. The rest of the qb's in this class after Joe Milton and JJ McCarthy aren't even in the top 5.

@MrDeshunp2010 I'm a Michigan and from Michigan so I watch him, and to me, it looks like he definitely zips it in there. He has so many impressive throws, one that comes up on top of my head is to Roman Wilson against Ohio State. He split it in between two defenders for a touchdown.

JJ is absolutely quicker and better at navigating the pocket and escapes pressure in a way that will translate much better. Maye will muscle through some more tackles, but it’s rarer in the NFL for guys to miss those tackles. JJ has slight accuracy issues specifically to the left sideline. Maye has processing issues that are much more concerning tbh

You just proved my point. JJ would have processing problems if he played in that unc offense that was schemed up terribly with terrible receivers and Maye processing isn’t that bad. It could be better but harder to tell and easier to teach then inaccuracies. JJ has good mechanics and is still in accurate…that is VERY concerning. If he had bad mechanics and kinda inaccurate then fine but having good mechanics and still being inaccurate is a recipe for disaster. He held back michigans offense on 3rd down ao many times. His 3rd down numbers doesn’t match the film that well for jj either

Maye has much more college production I have no idea how you’re drawing the conclusion that Maye has “processing issues” while JJ has slight accuracy issues. Dude never threw the ball lmao. @@verdict4048 I watched more of JJ’s reps than were aired on TV. I trust his accuracy to translate very well. With Maye, I watched his games on TV, and I just don’t see a consistent player who can pull together an offense. He has the physical tools, but he has no poise

The giants and Vikings were trying to trade up for maye. The giants ended up going WR and the falcons ended up taking penix and vikings had to settle. Raiders didnt bother. Soooo that tells me the only person who thinks mccarthy and maye is comparable is curran .

Vikings fan here... A few comments 1. Clearly the Vikings brass liked a lot about Maye as they did try to trade up. 2. That will be my last comment on Maye other than to wish him the best with the Patriots. 3. Vikings fans are happy to have gotten JJ AND Dallas Turner and still have next years first rounder 4. Vikings are the a great place for JJ. The coaching staff has a definitive plan in place for him and lots of offensive talent (JJ to JJ) The question will come down to JJ 5. Initial impressions of JJ A. Hard working, enthusiastic B; Talent is there C. Needs work (the point brought up that he throws one speed... Very fast is clearly known)... Can he learn touch... Can he learn to layer? He will get every chance to learn it. 6. Vikings are not interested in rushing him into starting... When he is ready, he will be thrown is (as far as it is possible to know when a QB is ready) 7. He looks the part (size wise, ball exploding out of his hand) 8. Now up to effort (which I think will be there) and brain processing (nobody knows). Have a great season!

Like all JJ lovers, Tom like him because he was on a winning team. But they ignore the fact that 99% of what they’ve seen is him just handing the ball off. I love when Patties get triggered...😂 I said it for months and I am staying on my island. I am now a fan of Drake Maye untill he takes the Patriots jersey off.. but all I see is Blain Gabbert at best and bust. Please prove me wrong Drake. I'm rooting to be wrong.
