I gues this happens when the music is not directly made to be something in popular standards, but album is more like some personal sounds from tom, that comes from his all time comedy, to his deepest thoughts, thats why you read comments from people last year saying this album sucked, and now they are praising it, saying something similar to what you said Sam, is kinda a more mature sound that sticks and grows

RC Codes and he will make far, far less money with those novels and albums than he would with blink. He's just into it, good for him. Guess that's important for someone who calls themselves an artist (regardless of whether or not others perceive him as one). Don't bother me.

***** They just wanna cash in. They are so afraid of letting go of Blink that they still dress the same even. Tom literally turned down easy BIG money with blink, in order to keep his commitments on projects that might even lose him money. Novels, movies, comic books ETC. are all pretty risky especially when you are paying for a lot of it. He wants to grow as an artist and share his art with us, his fans. That says a lot.

Actually, Mark, Travis, and Matt are trying to put good music out there, but Feldman held them back. They even admitted it. Every band John Feldman has produced for that I've liked has ruined their sound for me. (See All Time Low). If you listen to the majority of the songs added on California (Deluxe Edition) you'll hear them really putting a solid effort in there and pushing against Feldman. (See Misery, and 6/8). Tom is just trying to balance everything but blink, because, let's be honest, blink has been dead since what, 05? Neighborhoods was a shell of a blink-182 album. At the point it was made, Tom was in his AVA/Himself mode, and he clearly didn't care. He recorded the majority of the album in his own studio not even with Mark and Travis. To me, it seems like Tom water money. He clearly wasn't interested in blink-182 in say 09-15. The dude could barely stay sober on stage, he barely sang his partd, and very poorly played guitar. However, after riding off of neighborhoods hype, and money, he gladly left the band again. Does that not say something about how he was a huge issue? Sure he has some creativity, but really, that creativity is AVA/Alternative. Not pop punk like blink. That's why it sounded so weird on neighborhoods but in a way that, in my opinion worked. It's sounds like +44 and BCR got together to make an album. However, listening to the second half of an AVA album is like pulling teeth because it all sounds the same at that point. I'm not simple minded enough to choose sides. I can happily see where each side stems from, and in my eyes, neither side are that bad.
