@@andybguitarist Yeah dude definitely one of the better ones I've heard. To be honest, I've seen people blend the Mesa with a Marshall like Tom did, but the Mesa does just fine by itself.
@@andybguitarist You can't really get the original Tom's guitar tone without the Marshall involved. Every time you do palm mutes the mesa just goes fuzzy without having that crazy solid cut definition as you hear it on those records. To be fair, it's most likely not just the blend with the Marshall pres that achieves that as there was a lot of Jerry Finn's magic done behind the scenes. I've never actually seen anybody to be able to recreate that tone when it comes to those chugs.
Your toypaj tone is fire!!! Sounds so good! I had a dual rec for a few years but we had our daughter and what was once my music room with my Mesa is now her room 😞😂 So I kept my Tom Sig fender and bought a fender mustang modelling amp for our bedroom The mustang has a Mesa boogie setting which I can get so close to the blink tone but will never sound as sweet as the sound I had on the dual rec. but it’s a pretty versatile little amp as it has every amp you can think of on the tone menu so I can use the vox setting for neighbourhoods etc… Great video 👌
Bro, your set up is the tits! Im impressed with your whole set up. I didn't know Tom used 10-52, but I happen to use them myself. I don't have a Tom DeLonge signature strat, but I have a hot rod red 2001 Fender American strat that I've had since it was new. (When the fuck did I get old? Lol) I have installed a Duncan Invader bridge only with only a single push/pull volume pot with it coil split. All new black hardware with the new fender black locking tuners, maple neck. I absolutely love everything about it! I run a Peavey 410 ultratube amp. Not a Tom Delounge kinda tone really, but I love how hard 10" speakers hit when palm muting.
You have had my TD strats since new back in 2002. Old guitars are the best guitars. It has taken many years to afford and collect all my gear. You Strat sounds awesome. Red with black hardware would look awesome
@@robertofigueroamuler5143 I know I saw It the day it was put online, but it was sooo expansive 😵 I own a mint yellow one if you are someday interested to change color 🤣
to me it sounds like a lot more gain than the original, but pretty spot on besides that. When i listen to isolated guitar tracks of blink the guitar tone has much less bass and gain than what i hear when i listen to the regular mix. Im going to try these settings on my mesa and see how it sounds. Thanks your the video, Cheers!
pretty helpful. I tried your amp settings on my mesa rectoverb 25 and thought it sounded pretty good. I made some small adjustments based on my ears. @@andybguitarist
i thought post self titled he used a vox ac30 and a fender twin reverb, the vox was for dirty tones and the fender was clean and he used his foot switch to preset between the 2.
Untitled: Mesa triple rec, Mesa Triaxis preamp, Marshall JMP-1 preamp, each through a 4x12 Mesa cab Early AVA (up to 2009): same as above, drop the triple rec. Cabs are dummies, all sounds go through Palmer load boxes/speaker sims Blink Reunion/L)VE era AvA: Vox AC30s and Fender Twins. Still with the Palmers 2019-2021 AvA tours: Fractal Axe FX This is of course just his stage rig. He used many different amps in the studio
I have a homemade TD strat and trying to get this sound from my Fender Mustang LT50 amp…it comes very close, pretty spot on, if only I could get the speaker to not sound like it has a cold 😩
Yes I read this as a kid. Mixed a jcm 900 on clean with the gain up with the mesa boogie triple rectifier on full distortion. I don’t know how to combine two guitar amps but it was genius
@@andybguitarist thanks.. and what about the angels airwaves first and second album guitar tone? it is same with the untilted tone or no? sorry for my bad english
He used a JCM900 for his cleans and also used it in tandem with his old 2 channel triple rectifier live to get those crisp higher tones and his lead tone.
@@andybguitarist From what I understand that was for Enema Of The State and Dude Ranch was all JCM900. That's what I read somewhere but I could be wrong.
@@clfnole i think its the clean channel pushed switched on with gain at 0 and has higher treble. But most of this came from the jcm900 or the fender in the later years
@AndyB Guitarist OK, does it sound clean coz I'm trying to figure out how If you play a blink song on channel 3 and it has a clean part it in how do you quickly go from the overdrive sound to a clean sound?
