The level of overreaction from the salty fans in the comments is absolutely hilarious. The team had a down year, get over it lol. All this team needs is to do get healthy, grab a goaltender and a coach, and they should be competing for the playoffs next year.

But for your own mental health try not to be so reactionary. The idea that the core is bad just because they're not competing for a cup this year is delusional. The team had 2 19yr olds as their top defensive pairing, had 10 different players miss 10+ games (Hughes, Hamilton 20+) and had a regression in net. They took a step back, it happens get over it. Tampa about 12-14 years ago, had Hedman and Stamkos went to the ECF and then missed the playoffs the next 2 years. I think turned it around quite nicely. Relax and have a little bit of optimism.

The playoffs haven't started yet and the Rangers haven't won a single round, but you're talking about them winning a couple cups. Also, Tampa went to the Stanley Cups finals against Chicago after missing the playoffs those 2 years. Isn't that the type of run that you're looking for?
Ah yes... using analytics aka Holtz was good at getting chances and scoring at 5v5 yet they had him play 7-8 mins a night and barely any when the team was down by 1. And accountability? So pretty much benching 1-2 players for making 1 mistake and increasing the ice time of players who make multiple mistakes every single game. Got it!
They lost their best shutdown D-man last year to free agency. They lost their elite pp D-man to injury. They lost their best FO man to sexual assault charges. They lost their best player and their captain for significant periods to injury. Tough to overcome all that especially with subpar goaltending.
@@ritterengine1289well it’s all connected so yes actually, think about it if we lose our pp top scorer were behind in that area and then we lose our most energetic guy who also wins 80% of face offs and without a true leader or a knowlegable veteran it’s hard to win mental battles and be accountable, also when the other team holds the puck most of the game it’s very hard to score and the only way to get the puck is defense which we had a lack of this year, once you get dominated in the d zone it’s hard as a rookie to be motivated to go down and scores goals so yes, that is a huge part of why we couldn’t score 😊
I don't care who's in net, If the current roster can't block shots, clear the crease, stop all the 2,3 on 1's ,and for Petes sake get the puck out of the zone, we are in for long season again. How about some Ozone net presence next year. We need some D men that can play hard nose D..... Also Jack should have been benched a few times this year, trying to be fancy, turning over the puck, blowing a chance to score in shootouts....
Unfortunately this was a down year because of terrible goaltending, coaching - (Burnett was a big loss), Injuries and playing 2 rookies on d line. If Greene is the coach next year we are screwed. then fire Fitz. Otherwise let's get healthy, goaltending plus big bodies and bangers, a coach that keeps players accountable. Hopefully Fitz is not coaching from the GM spot, then we are doomed. If Green is the coach we are screwed. He had a terrible record in Vancouver and his record in NJ is mediocre at best. If they suck again next year, Fire Fitz!

We have seen enough. His handling of coaching, goaltending, wasting a 9 million dollar exemption, contracts of bums like Palat & Siegenthaler, Turning Sharangovich into a 2025 2nd round pick. This man is a failure. Needs to be removed before he goes into desperation mode & sets the franchise back another 5 years.

Total BS - the only reason they tanked was because of the goal tending. I'm shocked that Marty let it go. All this talk is lipstick on a pig. Its not the coach that wins, it was the poor goalers. Even Eddie Giacomin, at his age would have been an upgrade. Eddie and Gilles Villemure are in their 80's and would have stopped the damn puck.
Fitz ur time is running out after this wasted season. It still kills me that they did absolutely nothing with that Dougie $$$. Then add in his late moves for a goalie. Tick tock Fitzy
