Still need to try that Golden Boy! Ombre just works! Tuscan wasn't an instant love for me, but I absolutely love it. I dig the Ombre bottle as well. Great review M8!
Great fragrance. Loved this from the first wear (when it came across pure ‘leather’) but over time my nose has picked up far more of the softer nuances in this and I enjoy it even more. My gf wasn’t a fan at first sniff but now loves it as well which helps. Presentation is decent although find bottles where you can’t see the level of juice annoying and the sprayer on mine is poor and also leaks slightly but will definitely pick up another of this when I run out.
This was my 2nd ever blind buy. I know I know risky move (Retail too)..I really wanted to a sophisticated leather fragrance.....well I thought I did lol. Just not for me. Do not get me wrong this smells great; however, I just do not feel like I can pull it off comfortably. I ended up making a few trades and ended up with TF Oud wood (small bottle 85% left) and zaharoffs signature pour homme (small).
Have a bottle of this on the way. Sampled it and thought my wife wouldn’t like it but she loved it! I’m still getting my head around leather fragrances but looking forward to wearing it.
George, just want you to know that I have literally 0% interest in this fragrance (leather isn't my thing), but I had 100% interest in your take on it. Keep it up.
LOL! I've always thought that Tuscan Leather smelled great, but it never smelled like leather to me. The closest I could come to describing the smell of Tuscan Leather was kind of like the black stuff I got on my hands when cleaning the fireplace, so I know exactly what you're talking about.
Im a man... and this fragrance is so masculine powerfull and has a huge sex appeal.... i pick some brillinat leather with citrus and floral the first minutes.... in this time frame i seriously believe any woman would want to eat you and make you hers immediately hard ro pull off but the right type of guy right type of outfit and the right style of guy.... this is such a sexy fragrance... but then it kind of dies off to a very powdery suede like smell that becomes very flat and single scent.... id definitely would wear this exclusively at night on weekends colder nights and when im in the mood to particularly go out with a female that can potentially lead up to a bigger moment if ya know what i mean...
My friend thought I was doing coke because he said I smelled like coke I said fuck off lol it’s Tom Ford then my girlfriend said I smelled like money with leather lol
Man you didn't even talk about the best part that patchouli Amber oakmoss combo that is just incredible. Same as beau d jour my 2 favs right now. Other TF have that dry down as well as some Creeds. Esp aventus that combo in the base is my favorite part of these frags. Quality frags have that dry down combo perfected. I'm talking far far dry down.
I really like ombré on its own but when I layered it with lost cherry, the combo took ombré to another level. It resulted in a sweeter and slightly fresher. Try it out and let me know what you think.
Its done very well Sonia Constant is the g.o.a.t of leather accords 🤔 that might be a bit far but she can bang out good leather accords, she did Carner Barcelona's cuir and a couple others that escape me right now.
Is there in fact a Saffron note as you say? Fragrantica claims it's a cardamom. I've been looking for something that's saffron + leather, as I have candle with those notes that I love.
I found Ombré Leather too floral and sweet for my liking. Having said that, I probably wouldn’t have felt that way if I hadn’t already tried Tuscan Leather first?
@Trisha E Withrow Definitely get your nose on other TF scents and explore. Many of his scents are polarizing and some are either LOVE or HATE. You don't want to deprive yourself of one that you may absolutely LOVE. Some of his frags are similar (Tuscan Leather & Ombre Leather), but most are unique from the others in his line. I would seek out his most popular ones (Tobacco Vanille, Tuscan Leather, Plum Japonais, F'n Fab) to at least know what the fuss is about. Those are all pretty different from each other.
