Its really sad to hear that TF is dropping the ball this much these days. Its always the same crap with companies like this. The sales staff (usually) is passionate about the products they get to sell. The higher up you go, the more target driven people get and the more loose touch with their customers.
David, it's such a pleasure and joy to watch and learn from your videos. I really do admire your passion for the James Bond Life Style and it's a privilege to know someone whose so eager to share his knowlodge and opinions for rest of the fans like us. You are doing it in such a fashionable and fun way too so thank you! Btw, I am a huge fan of JB life style my self and I've been wearing some of his accessories such as Omega Seamaster and Tom Ford sunglasses for a while now. I really am looking forward to your Spectre - Tom Ford Snowdon (N52 Havana ?) sunglasses review so that we can verify the color code and everthing for sure. Thanks again.
Hi David. I've just discovered your channel and love it. You are right on the money about the less-than-stellar customer service you experienced being due to upper management and not Tom Ford himself. When you spend that kind of money, you should expect an unprecedented buying experience. That's the least they can do, but you are also a volunteer brand ambassador and that's worth its weight in gold. The marketing team really stepped in it and I hope they made it right with you.
I had a similar bad experience at the New York store and have also lost my enthusiasm for the brand and literally have not worn any of my TOM Ford suits since.
It is a shame to hear, as indicated in this video and others, that the Jame Bond inner circle, being the marketing team, production, sponsors, product provider etc are taking advantage of the James Bond fan, enthusiasts and casual alike, their money and support while not respecting them for who they are, the loyal customer and supporters, even David gets fucked around for goodness sake, they won't even take care of a fan and customer like David...it is such a shame. I'm just a casual admirer of the James Bond lifestyle, but with the money and effort that David is putting in, he deserves more.
This is a great video and you did a great job. You hit the nail on the head with the TF issue. I purchased the sunglasses from the Las Vegas store and it was great service. But... I have dealt with other high end stores and occasionally you run into dipsh*ts who live to put you down because you actually asked the price of an item.
Even 3 years later I still wonder why Bond wears this light wool jacket in a rather frosty place like Sölden (-5 up to 4°C in February) Anyway nice video.
he seems to be in a plane/in a premise, and when he is out, he is always on the move... so no time to get a cold.. the ones who drive a car do not buy too warm clothes, as it is always warmer in a car
Thanks again for the great videos this year David @thebondexperience. Maybe a Budget Bond mens dress boot video for 2016? And Merry Christmas from my family to yours.
Dear bond experience, would you be so kind as to give me the name of the maker of the beautiful blue jacket with what seems to be black shearling around the collar. The jacket is greatly visible at minute 4:28. Many thanks in advance
TheBondExperience David- I had happen to see this video before the edit, it was honest and from the heart. Make no exception, when I go to the Tom Ford website, there is a specific collection called "Bonded". It is because of you and your passion for Bond that Tom Ford added that to their search, for Bond collectors to have easy access to these pieces that were not avaliable to you then but are now.Seriously thank you for all your hard work and championing that your one pretty cool dude for doing that.
damn...I looked everywhere for a jacket similar to that couldn't find it so instead I thought I'll take 2 separate pieces a half sleeve quilted jacket which I did find and a separate wool sweater to wear underneath so it'll look similar lol
In the end, it is all about Product Placement, BS Advertisement, Contracts etch. In other words, it is all about money. I supported Tom Ford when he started and was happy when he joined the Bond family. Now, I feel things have changed and I am disappointed. No more Tom Ford. So expensive, so little care. What happened to Brioni?
Do you ever address the comments? Besides, with such experience, I wouldn't be feeding Corporate Greed nor more. What happened to your vision Tom? I guess it got to his head. A leader always keeps an eye open. One day, he will be no more.
He has amazing clothes but way way overpriced. 350 for a cotton t shirt. Wow. Tom had amazing style but grossly overpriced. If it was 90 percent off I'd buy it all. 1650 bucks for a sweater jacket. I get hes trying to run a major Corp but lower the price you'll sell more . I guess hes targeting a niche market. There must be half an ounce of gold in that jacket.
I won't be subscribing but I do appreciate the video for a pricing guide on clothes. I will have to research if there are any Tom Ford stores in California. Are the clothes made solely in England or at least in the United Kingdom? I have tried shopping in The Men's Warehouse & Jos A. Banks but ALL of their inventory is made in countries I would not buy from.
Sorry David but the more I shop at fashion houses such as Tom FordI do feel that their employees do have an air of a supeior fashionesta's or to be blunt Rude! When entering an aformentioned store & i'm not talking about the bad staff attitude of the staff at Tom Ford, i'm talking about Boss, I treat those staff members who cannot furfill the brand they are promoting. it's like eating out. I'm at the point whear if i don't recieve the service their prices warrant. I leave!
It's a lot of money for this kind of jacket. There is no special design. People will not recognize a brand so they will think you are in some very cheap shit.
$900 for an ugly no button polo shirt? WTF..it looks like a neckline that church chorus singers wear, and I thought a sunspel riveria at $120 was expensive
