kinkysweat I’m dying to buy this bronzer, but will it match my light -light medium-complexion? I always thought it looks a lot like the Too Faced Chocolate Gold Soleil bronzer, which is my favorite bronzer. Is it similar?

Hi! always interesting to see your reviews that always are very helpful! I got a bit confused this time though since the title and the product you have is the Soleil bronzer that launched 2019 but the Christine review at Temptalia you refer to and link to is for the Ultimate bronzer that launched 2017... The ultimate bronzer was the one that came in a sort of gel to powder formula that was hard pressed into the pan and gave no kick back. Christine rated the colours between A+ and A- if memory serves me right. But many people had problems with the formula developing hard pan easily and found it was hard to pick up product. For the 2019 launch the formula was changed into a more powdery formula easy to pick up but harder to layer which you noticed right away along with a lot of kick back... This is the Soleil bronzer version which has been around now since 2019. The Soleil version has not received as good ratings with Temptalia. The Gold dust had a B+ rating. And Christine critiques it for not being so buildable but rather opaque right off the bat. The colours differ also quite a bit from earlier iterations of the TF bronzers. The Gold dust colour is more red in undertone as opposed to more warm golden in earlier versions. (An improvement imo). The Terra is a lot warmer in tone in the Soleil version as opposed to more neutral/cool toned in the earlier versions, (which is less of an improvement if you have been part of the Terra team of earlier years since now all the colours lean warm...). I am unsure of if the Bronze Age colour has come out at all in the Soleil formula... Anyway, thought I’d share this info since I know how confusing things are when it comes to the TF bronzers. OMG You are reviewing Tom Ford bronzer. YES. I have all three different Soleil Bronzers. The first release has the shade Bronze. The second release was suppose to have Bronze also but I was not able to find that one in stores or on line. So, I have Gold Dust and Terra in the second and his last release. I wear and love both shades. For me both shades work from all his releases. Another beautiful shade in the first release was Bronzel. All of them have great longevity as I have long work days. Thank You for your review because I take notice of your techniques. STAY SAFE.

You know, I appreciate that you review the higher end brands cause nobody else is! Esp no one my complexion. They aint sendin out PR cause they dont have to so you dont see anyone reviewing it. Youre doing yt the “old school” way & I have a feeling thats gonna come back in style. Cause I personally am tired of being “sold to”. Im transitioning my makeup collection to be more minimal but high quality so thank you!

I love so much shimmer in bronzers but when I compare Gold Dust and Terra, I think Terra is definitely superior. It is a very special bronzer in every aspect. It will be suitable for any complexion, it has the most beautiful neutral tone and the texture is a dream. I always reach for Terra rather than Gold Dust and on top if I want shimmer or more glow I just add a little Tom Ford highlighter in Mood - the darker shade.

I think it looks gorgeous on your skin- I wish I would have gotten the smaller size on that sale.. I’ve been wanting to try it for a long time. I think with my warm undertones it might work for me as well. I’m glad it doesn’t have fragrance! That’s a huge plus as I don’t care for fragrance in my products.. I have the Sirena bronzer from Chantecaille and LOVE it.. the Goa was a little too dark on me. 👍🏻🥰😎thanks Alicia!

I bought the Gold Dust a while back, I didn’t know it had a shimmer to it. On my coloring it’s more neutral with a bit of shimmer. I actually like MJ Tantastic better because it’s matte.

Beautiful, Alicia. This version of TF bronzer is a softer powder, easier to pick up than the version prior to this version. I have both Terra and Gold Dust - different undertones, both gorgeous - can’t go wrong formulas. You gave me great ideas in terms of how to get more out of the TF bronzers - thank you - great video 👍❣️❣️

Girl you are ALWAYS coming through with the most thoroughest REVIEWS!!! I want the TF bronzer SOOOOO BAD and felt the shades were not deep enough. BUT, I have the Charlotte Tilbury Lovegasm palette and the bronzer shade does show up on my skin (I do have to build it up to show), so now I’m thinking this shade MIGHT work for me. If I do get this bronzer, I’ll be sure to let you know!

Quarantine is giving me quite the opportunity to systematically rotate through all of my bronzers and I just know you would understand why having two dozen different bronzers is absolutely reasonable (budgets allowing!).

I am so glad that the color showed up!! It does look a little red. I have Bronze Age a it was the darkest color they had and discontinued. I have the small and large compact 🤓. I wanted another when I found out it was being discontinued. I really like it. I have the non ultimate version (I think that’s what it’s called), without the texture. Hey, if there is another sale and you get the other color, I totally understand 😁. You could always get the smaller compact.

Terra is more of a cool tone bronzer think soft contour- also it’s a buildable style bronzer so it’s no hula bronzer😂 I have both collections (the ultimate and the Soleil) (as far as the Tom Ford bronzing brush and I have it to it’s not like some of these other cheaper brushes that don’t pick up product it picks up just the right amount of product and hold onto it)

Hi Alicia... I have that bronzer and LOVE the damn thing. That slight sheen makes you have a beautiful glow to your skin. I had the Terra and decluttered it. I felt like it looked muddy on the skin. The Tom Ford bronzers have been on my wishlist for a while, so glad to see your review and demo of it! ❤️✨ Ps I think where you got the “gel to powder” impression could be because TF has put out at least 3 different formulations of their bronzers. The previous version (the 2nd incarnation I think?) is the gel to powder type texture that some have noted is difficult to pick up but pretty when you get on!

Thank you for not taking all your content to patreon like some content makers. I have Soleil Tan Chanel (old formula), TF$ Shade & Illuminate 1.0, CT Filmstar the paler 1; Benefit Hoola, & one not mentioned I love Too Faced Chocolate Soleil (as well as some more affordable options/stuff received in sub boxes I can’t remember names of), you have a beautiful collex of bronzers. I also have 2 of the tom ford contour palettes the brontour is quite reddish.

I am tempted but the mini for 4 reasons won’t be picking up: 1 don’t know which color 2 don’t know how I’d pay for it lol 3 I ordered the Scott Barnes contour palette which has like 8 bronzers more than a human needs or can use also I wear 5.5 in tom ford I’m surprised I’m that dark because I’m like, NC20 in MAC 4 I have butter bronzer the palette, box, & single & it’s a good dupe it’s not bad I’ll save the money spent on TF$ bronzer & buy a decent set of brushes. Not Morphe I’m talking decent y’all know this old lady when she does something .... 💯

I loved this video.. I have been thinking about the Tom Ford bronzer for ages now. I Guess it’s time to bite the bullet. What will be the best brush to go with these if I decide to get only one ?

I have the ultimate bronzer in terra in both the large compact and small one - It is no longer available so this solo version is available does anybody know Soleil the difference is other than this formula might have a little bit of a glow or a sheen

I am curious, when you say the Soleil de Tan is not the same anymore, what do you mean? Did they change the formula or...? Was thinking about getting it when I finish my Tantastic (which I haven't hit pan on oh life) and no you've got me second guessing... 🤔🤔🤔

Michelle Lu apparently they changed the formulation. They added coconut oil which make some people break out and the performance has changed as well. Mel Thompson made a video about it

I know this probably will sound silly but I purchased a bronzer that looks like TF for 9$ . It has a reddish tint undertone glides on beautifully and it looks great 🌞
