I own both of these scents. In my opinion, Velvet Teddy is similar and you might fool an untrained nose, but Tobacco Vanille is a far superior fragrance. I much prefer TV and have considered gifting Velvet Teddy to a friend.
I feel like I’m one of the only people who doesn’t enjoy the smell of Tom fords TV. All my nose picks up is ginger. I recently purchased Rebecca Minkoffs perfume. It’s a beautiful tobacco fragrance. It’s been compared to macs velvet teddy.
I tried a decant of tobacco vanille. It smelled like the pipes my boss was smoking. I thought I didn’t like it till the next day when I smelled the shirt I was wearing when I sprayed it. It is one of best things I’ve ever smelled! I couldn’t stop smelling that shirt! I’m thinking of getting tobacco vanille but maybe spraying it a few minutes before leaving the house or spraying it on my clothes to give the initial strong tobacco note a chance to weaken a little.
I returned Velvet Teddy the day I got it... you're correct. I can't stress this enough: it is not a Tobacco Vanille Dupe! I disliked it instantly. I found the honey suffocating. The best dupe I've found is Al Haramain Amber Oud Tobacco Edition. But TV remains in a class of its own. Beautiful!
A great comparison Yana! TV one of my first loves from TF. Eyes rolling back in the head style. Used to be my Christmas day signature before I got Oajan. Too bad Zara discontinued Warm Black too. It's basically my TV-esque layer frag now. Would've been a solid recommendation for someone wanting to dabble in the ballpark for basically 20 bucks.

Mac is discontinued. It’s already out from website (uk) but you still can find it in the store. Because of that I bought a bottle last week ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️. Kisses 😚
Fantastic video, as usual! I actually prefer Velvet Teddy over TV, if I’m 100% honest 🤷🏻♀️. I was recently discussing with my friends “the mask test”... If a fragrance sticks to your mask, then it probably is projecting like crazy (was our theory). Thus far, nothing sticks to my masks like a Mugler fragrance! Even the EDT’s... they’re just straight up beast mode. Thanks for posting!
I didn't like velvet teddy, bought it when Is saw the similarities to TV but it didn't work for me, I returned it. And returning anything to MAC during covid times omg, had to contact over and over to get my money back, they claimed it wasn't delivered even though I had tracking. Would not recommend, plus their website gives me a headache.
Thank you for the review and the option of a good alternative similar fragrance. I am just getting used to wearing some Unisex scents but these both are on my list now thank you.
I am so happy you made this video, I have never smelled either fragrance but often wandered about Tobacco Vanille. I am wandering if it is similar to Initio side effect or Angel’s share by Killian? From the notes it seems like they may be similar. Also what are your thoughts on SE & AS?

the recent 19-20 batches are really weak imo compared to the older ones. i agree with on performance. same on me. Doesn't project as much but stays on skin for some time. richness is also somehow lesser in new batches. Sad they water down these beauties always.
I have both and reach for Tobacco Vanille most of the time. Have you tried MAC Turquatic? I think it’s similar to light blue in a way but a more grown up version. I get a ton of compliments from it.
Omg i love that one! I think it smells similar to Acqua di Sale a niche brand called Profumum Roma. The turquatic gets me so many compliments as well 💕
I have turquatic as well, I don't find it similar to Light Blue, but that's a good thing! I find it more interesting and think it's a wonderful freshie
The honey in VT is kinda overwhelming for my senses lol i think I prefer TF TV over it, maybe if VT didn’t have the honey I’d say it’s the perfect dupe.
@@pinkabuki it's good. the opening can be too much because it's very spicy, but it dries down into a sweet-tobacco with hints of woods.. for 11 euros, I think you can't go wrong. moreover, performance is good
