Tom Hanks in a horror movie 

Hanks was supposed to die in this film but the writers found him so charming that they changed the story so he would survive. Fact. Tom Hanks has always been great.

Tom Hanks did well in delivering his lines about horror. He should do a cameo in the next "Final Destination" movie.

He's my favorite actor of all time.

Don't forget Hanks was in "The Burbs", which was at least partly a horror film. And of course "The DaVinci Code" where I left the theatre screaming. [Ha! Ha!] Thanks for posting.

It's crazy how you can look at Tom Hanks (here) in his first on-screen appearance... that his energy/Hanks-like Hanksisms have not changed (ONE BIT) to this day!

I think it's funny they play the Jaws theme when they're on the ride

@Marijana Rizlic I believe he was originally supposed to be killed off, but his character was deemed too likable.

Oh yeah. I haven't seen it in ages, it was funny from what I remember but not one of Joe Dante's best films. I'll take another look at it some time.
