Kevin Gordon he played his own game, didn’t let the conversation steer to Craig’s liking and used Craig’s own tricks back on him. Like making him agree to something then saying it’s completely the opposite but although Tom was clear and articulate, he was practically shouting
One of the things I've noticed about Craig is that comedians love being on his show because they are with a fellow comedian who doesn't give a hoot, is genuine like meeting somebody at a bar. They get to be themselves and do their little stand up while conversing. Plus, Craig either knows a lot of them prior to coming on the show as acquaintances or very good friends. Others just end up bonding with him immediately and then want to come back multiple time. Craig was just gold at Late Night, as much as he undermines it.
@@nitro_001newman2 Women don't like Scottish men? That is rude! Sure, they have bad teeth and wear skirts, but still rude! Technically, Craig wasn't particularly offensive in any way, he was just doing the kind of jokes that made guests loosen up a bit too much. I kind of suspect it was agents being against him getting one of the prime time shows. Imagine Tom Hanks go full Tropical Thunder on prime time.
Tom Hanks can be so funny and spontaneous when he just wings a conversation. He's wasted on all the other talk shows doing nothing but skits and games.
Wonderful gem of an interview. Craig is still admired by and endearing to people around the world, especially in Inner-Mongolia. They call him the "Dhali Hahah".
I knew it, I knew it, I knew it! As soon as I saw that Craig interviewed Tom, I knew it would be fantastic. They’re both so naturally funny and have incredibly quick minds, I knew they would play off of each other perfectly, and they did! Hilarious.
Tom is so spontaneous and adaptable! Amazing segment. We were so lucky to have Craig and Conan at the same time. Unfortunately, you had to choose which one to watch back in the day! So I'm glad we have youtube to look back on old episodes. BTW, Cloud Atlas was horrendous.
So funny how no one seems to have noticed that the lovely photographer at the beginning of this segment was actually Tom's long-time beautiful wife, the actress Rita Wilson.☺
The man has it all. Love him even if he didn't. He's the friend I never had. Mild autism, but truly I suck at relationships. Anyway, Tom Hanks is awesome.
Cloud Atlas is one of the best movies ever. First time I saw it I was baked out of my mind and had no damn idea what was going on with all them time changes but I loved it....had to watch it sober and I loved it even more. Tom Hanks is one of the all time greatest.
my favorite thing about craig ferguson's interviews are i can click to any minute of this video and either him or his guest are saying the most hilarious out of context things
it's such a lie, they stayed in their lane and sold me like mine is shit and I need to adapt to theirs........ then they blame me for having hurt Them, yet they transformed me out of my things talking me into their stuff which was just murderous for me and they are absolutely aware of it
If you were going to be a guest on Craig's show, you have to be quick. Craig was ready to jump past you in a heartbeat. The absolute best interviews happened when someone was ready to play along at Craig's speed. Tom Hanks was absolutely ready for the interview.
@@jackburton37211 it's gross, so don't be mad at me; I'm just the messenger. There's a... well, uh... I think the best way to say this is to use your favorite internet search engine and type in "Cleveland steamer," and the Urban Dictionary definition should come up first. I tell you this with one caveat: you're probably better off just not even searching for it; you can't erase the knowledge one you have it. Good luck out there.
An A-list Celebrity on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson? Really? Damn, that's cool and he's more funny than I would've expected. I need him on more shows like this. Craig needs to take over a late night talk show, or maybe do a podcast. I don't know, but we need more of him in this kind of environment.
Why wasn’t this aired in the UK. It’s the most non American late night chat show. Even the one with the British presenter is to American for the UK audience.
Are you telling me that you get American talk shows in the UK? If so, I am so very sorry. I mean we get Graham Norton on our BBC channels here, and I wish we had more like that domestically.
Man Tom learned that Craig "deconstructed" the Late Night format and he just loved that word. He didn't sound that intelligent repeating it so much, like he's the smartest person in the room.
11:30 - Ah, one of the great delights in YouTubing: finding a clip of Fugeson doing Sean Connery doing Bond, James Bond. I think this is my new favorite Connery-Bond impersonation. (This interview in general was pretty amazing.)
How cool Tom Hanks was watching the same t.v. channels I watched back in the day. Channel 44 was KBHK back then. In the afternoon after elementary school they'd show Pop Eye cartoons.
