I love how he asks how to say "deep down" and then is able to repeat it back right away. And of course years later we can say that Tom's characterization of Loki in Thor: The Dark World is spot on! I only took high school French eons ago so I can't say how well he is speaking grammatically. He's definitely making an effort and I think people appreciate that when you at least try to speak their language. He sounds pretty good to me! Another commenter says below that Natalie also speaks French. Watching it back, looking at her, she is either following along and reacting to what he is saying or just following the audience's reaction but I think she is following on her own understanding. And thanks to the commenters who translated this - especially the second translation which was basically word for word instead of a summary. Based on my memory, the first time I listened, I was able to understand about 70% of it but with the translation, everything clicked. Tom is very elegant and charming himself - easy to translate that over to Loki.
I've seen her on French television, but I've never seen an interview of her actually speaking French... But, since she lives/lived in France, maybe she's learning it.
I find him quite good actually, he didn't make a lot of mistakes, knowing that french is actually a very difficult language. And yeah he's sooooo adorable!!
Je suis française et frenchement, quand j'ai appris qu'il parlait aussi français, je me suis dit mais allez c'est parti ! On va aller le voir ! Bon maintenant le seul problème qu'il reste c'est que j'habite en France
He describes Loki and said : he's the mean character that's why people laughs and then he decribes him as a charming, elegant and heartbroken character with a tragic past
"Loki is the bad guy. He's the most charming of the bad guys. He's elegant. He's pleasant. He's a teaser. But he also has a broken heart. It's a bit tragic cause the family is split. He's angry, he's jealous, he's envious but I think that deep down, Loki loves his brother
A bit late haha. "Loki is a bad guy. But he is the most charming bad guy. He is elegant. He is funny. He is a player. And he has a broken heart. It's a bit tragic because the Asgard's family is divided. He is angry, he is jealous he is envious. But finally, I think that deep down, Loki loves his brother." Hope that help I tried my best !
