As for Tom Jones and this song, he's a very talented guy and this particular song, is well written, and it seems, just for Jones. In my opinion, this live version is far better than the studio cut of it.
I never get tired of listen to this song, lyric's are great, the emotion that Tom Jones put's into singing this song is touching and watching your reaction to this song Gracie makes me emotional in a good way.

Gracie, your feelings and emotions are true of every woman who hears our Tom sing. He was married for 59 years and stayed true to the one love despite all of the female attention he got. A true legend and gentleman.

Tom actually forgot his third verse, and instead, wound up doing the second verse a second time. If you go to his original release, his third verse begins with ..."I gave my heart so easily...."
The sad experience with love Tom sings about has probably happened to him a hundred times in his entire life. He recovered nicely. He's probably only spent a few hours without love in his life.

This is my favorite song by Tom, and that's saying something because he's got a bunch of great songs. What can you even say about something this Great! WOW! That's why Elvis referred to Tom, his friend, as "the voice". This is a live performance with no studio tweaking. And he just Kills it. Tom turned 80 last summer, and he's still going strong as a judge/coach on the UK version of The Voice. Here's Tom singing duets with some of his team on The Voice. Tom Jones was/is a superlative singer, this performance could be the best in popular music ever, but people get real. He had countless lovers, fathered a child outside the marriage and the words and emotion in the song would have been felt by his wife for decades. Yet she remained true to the man she married when they were both 16.
@@GracieReacts Childhood sweethearts, he and Linda married when she became pregnant. It was the done thing in those days. Son was born just weeks later - they were still both 16. You can see how he would attract the ladies, Mary Wilson of the Supremes included for two years but Linda had a true love, turned the other cheek. She would have felt all the hurt in this song.

@@GracieReacts They had ups and downs he had affairs while on the road but she used to put up with it so long as she didnt hear about it , he has since said its his biggest regret in his life that he did that and when she died he said he wouldint sing again but lucky for us he changed his mind .

Bryn Terfel is another famous opera singer, though musically Wales has been best known for Tom, its male voice choirs and the crowd singing at rugby matches..
