The best song/recording/performance he ever recorded. Wish he had continued on as this self, not the jive hipster kisser of the following 40 years... Loved this, in my top 10 all time Bests.
Tom, one of the treasures of lovely little Wales, land of song, where the men are men and the women are glad of it. The miners would sing even after the hard graft down the pit, the soldiers would sing when facing attack by thousands, the rugby crowds sing, the mountain goats sing, my dog Bryn would throw back his head and we would sing our hearts out together.
I was one of the few non singing Welshmen and that's why I had to leave. Maybe because my Dad was from Lancashire? Rest of the family is good, I even have a cousin in the Treorchy MVC! Duw Duw!
I grew up with these sounds coming via the BBC ..... took them for granted as a youngster ..... but it's only now, fully 55 years later I appreciate what an extraordinary flowering of British music happened from the early 1960s for the next 15 years or so. This performance is superlative .... he's handsome, has sex appeal by the tonne and his live vocal is almost operatic in it's volume and control: he's telling a story here and he seems to feel every single damned word and note. And by God it's LIVE, not a mime job.
Funny that you mentioned Elvis, Elvis was Tom Jones' biggest fan, Tom, was known as The Voice. He is still singing today, he is a judge/mentor on 'The Voice' in the UK.
@@thegoldschoolsoul6921 As Adam mentioned that Sir Tom Jones is judge/mentor for Voice UK, Peter Donegan, son of the songwriter, Lonnie Donegan who wrote this song for Jones had sort of a duet with Jones while Peter playing the keys. Jennifer Hudson and Will.iam looked on in awe!

His voice gives me goosebumps, he such a wonderful performer and when he opens his mouth that liquid velvet just flows out, the best ‘manly’ singing voices are from Wales, their male voice choirs are the best on the world, it in their genes!
As previously mentioned, Tom is a coach on the UK version of "The Voice". He recently turned his chair for the son of the guy that wrote this song for him so many years ago. They both sang the song together and it was truly magical! Tom STILL has the power that he did in 1967! It was simply amazing to watch and listen to.
I’m a trained singer. Love watching reviews from someone who understands the vibrato, crispness and tone. I have given many lessons and I’m not sure I have seen many with that power….and it is perfectly controlled power. Outstanding. So……strong. Wow. Wonderful. I liked watching your expression when he hit some of those.
Tom's power, range, and ability to hold a note have all diminished with age, but he has the style and polish from his many years of performing. He still sings better than half the professional performers today in their prime.
Sir Tom is still going strong at 80 years of age. Last I heard, he was still a judge on the British version of The Voice. Where he still sings with some of the contestants from time to time. Even Queen Elizabeth enjoys his music.
One of the great voices of the 60s-70s and remember this was before auto-tune and all the production that can be done today. He is still a judge on Britain's the voice, you can check him out on youtube. Also he can still sing like that!
Yeah, isn't that the most wonderful , beautiful thing This man, even at this date, can deliver with his voice an incredible full resonance from young to old,( er ). Tom Jones IS TOM JONES , ...... forever !
And another one bites the dust. Lol. We all fall in love with Tom Jones. Brilliant and still sings as strongly. Sang this on the UK The Voice with the son of the man who wrote the song for Tom.
He's over 80 now and still has most of that power. He's lost some of his upper range but not much. He sang this on Britain's Got Talent where he's a judge.
Great reaction to a classic singer in the 60's ! He's still can sing at 80 and sounds just as good ! Tom used to have his own TV show that was fantastic ! He's a fabulous and famous singer ! Thank you for reacting 🤗👍🇨🇦♥️♥️
Feels like he is singing RIGHT to you and that you have caused his pain. He is from Wales and has a naturally powerful, totally untrained, never a lesson voice. 81 and still belting them out. I saw him in concert in 1975...oh, my God...a totally surreal experience.....he looks and sounds great on film but unless you could see the sweat flying off his forehead...omg...it was the closest thing to a sexual experience that was not real sex that has ever happened to me in my 74 years...no wonder all of the women at the concert, teenagers to women in their 60’s, were up standing on their chairs screaming, throwing panties and hotel keys at him while he was singing on stage. Review more of Sir Tom Jones.
watching Tom Jones posture while singing this song it appears that he is using his right leg to push through the more powerful notes of the song! I have always been an admirer of his music!
Sir tom Jones would never need a auto turn he has the parfait voice powerful clear there no pop singer today who could come close to sir tom Jones even at 80 year old he could out sing any of today pop singers no question about it just brilliant
Sir Tom still sounds great at 80 sounds even better if that's possible. The song was written by Lonnie Donegan , now Lonnie son was on The Voice UK Sir Tom realises that his dad was Lonnie Donegan he says to the young man do you this song. He say do you want to sing it with me, so Sir Tom stands upthere and then this song with Lonnie Donegan son it is on RU-vid probably on The Voice UK if you can find its worth a listen.( its on the voice UK Sir Tom Jones and Peter Donegan sing I'll Never Fall in Love Again blind audition )
Ha..your headshaking speaks volume..Great reaction..thank you. And something fadish in the 1960s..was men especially performers..wore pinkie rings..bracelet ..see Elvis..Engleburt..Tom Jones..my older brother wore in the 1960s..I mimicked him of course!..and wore his pinkie ring and bracelet..when he wasn't looking..ha . And the 1960-1970s music scene was the best ever..and still is!
Sir Tom Jones Is A Judge On '' The Voice UK '' He Is 81 And Still Singing In Concerts ! Fans Also Get Him To Sing On '' The Voice '' He Is Great ! CHECK HIM OUT ON THE VOICE UK '' You will be amazed again i promise ! Sir Tom Jones Still Has That Voice That WILL GET YOUR ATTENTION !
Sir Tom Jones was born in Laura Street, Pontypridd, Rhondda valley. 10 miles away from where I live in Treorchy. Tom used to do the club scene in Wales before he made it big. he's known in Wales as ( Our Tom ) Wales is very proud of him.
This song definitely shows his voice skills, WOWWW! I think this is one of the best songs he's ever done. It's such a powerful song with his powerful voice! 😍😍😍❤❤❤
Yes here is a suggestion, never fall in love was written by a little known English folk singer called Lonnie Donegan, Aretha Franklin, the first time ever I saw your face, was also written by a little known English folk singer called Ewan MacColl, check out nothing compares to you by Prince covered by O’Connor, Micheal McDonalds version of you are everything.
He is 81 years old and is today the lead judge on The Voice UK. His actual real name for many years as given to him by the Queen of England is Sir Tom Jones.
Elvis and Tom were not only very close friends, but Elvis was a big fan of Jones’. As a result, I think Elvis picked up some of Tom Jones’ mannerisms and vocal characteristics. You’ll notice that Elvis didn’t start exhibiting those mannerisms and characteristics until Tom came along.
Nice reaction!!! Sir Tom Jones is in his early 80's today, he's a judge on the TV show "The Voice UK" and he can still belt out those notes like it's nobody else's business!!! Please react to his song: "Without Love" it too is a great ballad which I believe you will enjoy!!!
When I was a little kid, some four years old, waaaaay back in about 1969 i was his huge fan. In a strange country called Yugoslavia. I sang a few of his songs and I couldn't even speak English. I'll Never Fall Inlove, Green Grass of Home, Delilah were my repertoire. Afrer some time I've drifted away from him and moved to other music. In recent years I've rediscovered him and I can say I have a really deep respect for him. Rock, metal, prog guy speaking.... And after all those years he is still active, live and kicking and still sounding amazing! Sir Tom Jones, my deepest respect!
Elvis said that Toms voice was the best he’d ever heard. High praise from the King. No auto tune, no special effects, one take live, that’s the kind of singers I grew up with.
Another woman smitten by Tom Jones….I am shocked, just shocked!! I can recall my mid-40’s Mom and my 18yr old girl friend (eventually my wife) regarding his TV variety show as must see TV, where they swooned over him 50 yrs ago. It was kinda funny to hear them talk about how much they liked him. The golden years of pop music…
The Goldschool Soul Elvis Presley said of Tom Jones the he (Tom Jones) had the best voice he (Elvis) had ever heard. They bith had a deep respect for wach other, basically a bromance going.
Hi you! Im struggling with alcohol right now...BUT I have music that helps me. I can play the piano and a teacher told me I have something special. I hope to stop the drinking and make something special... it helps watching your reactions.
Lol, when I was a kid, I’d hear my mom go on about how much she loved Tom Jones’s voice (which I don’t think I actually got to hear given how much ‘60s and ‘70s music they always played, until hearing the Thunderball theme). Looking back, she was 20 when this performance was done. Explained everything..
He brings our broken hearts back to the moment. Yes he's very handsome and has such a beautiful voice. Even today he's still very handsome and sexy and still has a beautiful voice
A great reaction to a wonderful performance by Tom Jones. I hope you don't mind me saying so but you are a beautiful looking lady. You remind me of Annie Lennox, particularly around the eyes ❤
Tom and Elvis truly were Kings back then, talent looks, the ladies just wooshed over them, to bad Elvis destroyed himself with drugs and died young, while Tom now with nealy double the mileage, is still going strong!
His voice is timeless and unfortunately this song brought back a memory long forgotten........... But that just goes to show how wonderful his song is, tells a all too common story of betrayal and heartache. But anyways love your channel love your spunk hope to see more of you
....smiling.........god, my mother just LOVED tom.........i never saw her swoon to ANYONE else.........i see he has same effect on you.....not only a POWERFUL voice, but what COMMAND he has........astounding..............first time to your channel...............thanks for posting..............
bellisima song with grand singer even if someone does not understand the lenguage his pasion, voice music and interpretation is universal lenguage Regards from CDMX (Mexico, city)...
You mentioned of Elvis, he and Tom were at same hotel in Vegas. They got to know each other while being there. Tom and Elvis became close friends until Elvis' death in 1977.
When Tom walked on to any stage be it TV, Theatre or the Club circuit in UK back then he just had that 'SWAGGER'. He had that 'something'. Back then there would be an orchestra and a musical director and for quite a number of years in the late 60's and 70's it was Johnny Spence who was a well known musical director from England. i recommend you look at Tom on video singing TREAT HER RIGHT OMG Back then you had no HORRIBLE AUTOTUNE or any backing tracks. I have a small collection of vinyl albums passed down from my late parents. I have one called Tom Jones LIVE at the Talk of The Town 1967. I recommend you listen to the album now -i know it wont be an original sound from over 50 years ago but you will get a feel for the songs. Tom and his voice - OH BUT IT IS A WELSH THING
The first 45 record I ever wanted! I was probably around 8 when this song was released, but loved Tom Jones on sight when I first watched his television show on over here back in the late ‘60s. Only a little girl, but he was so beautiful! That voice! ❤️❤️❤️
