In those days there was a secret production facility in the UK where they made pop stars. There were so many of them. Tom is not just a great singer, he is a wonderful man.
Tom jones really sings with all his heart then and now he is 80 yrs old Im a fan since i was 14 yrs old now,im 66. I really love tom jones. Hi there from the Philippines!
Tom Jones what can i say , he was and still is dynamic in his personality and his voice could never be duplicated . He was able to sing with any body and he always stood out . Now 80 years old and i hope he will still be around for years to come , God bless you Mr. Tom Jones ,,,,,,,,,,
@Sirtom_jones I do not believe that this comment is not from the real Tom Jones . Some of the English is not correct , that exposed you as an imposter !
@Sirtom_jonesamazing that I just saw these comments. I always knew it was not you!! You were not only gorgeous, you STILL are!! And your voice…..I could listen to you all day and I do many days!
One of a kind, broke the mold when they made him.....still hot in my book Mr. Jones. The guys today need to learn a lesson from you ......Thanks for all the years you have shared your voice.
I saw him recently on the voice and WOW HE IS better than ever and full of rhythm and soul I just love his energy and he is even better looking now Thanks to Tom Jones he is the gift that keeps on giving!
OMG the clips from that show are sooooo good, i've been watching them a lot lately. He was a real pro, and so gracious. My favourites have to be when he was with the soul singers though, then I finally understood why he is Sir Tom. So sad they were cancelled, I wish there was more of them. Actually I Wish he would have a show again we don't have musician performing live on TV anymore.... someone please bring back the variety show format !!! there is definitely room for it in today's world. Love you Tom 🥰
I first heard Sir Tom Jones when I was a very young girl. My Gramma adored him! I used to dance to his records. I saw him live for the first time when I was 12 years old. I have seen him countless times. I have had the privilege of meeting him twice. He signed a special linen from Pontipridd Wales and I have had my picture taken with him. He is a very kind man. He is such a great talent and so very sexy!!!!
He's 25 years older than me so growing up I didn't pay much attention to him. Thankfully, I caught up thanks to RU-vid videos. The man is a rarity in so many ways. He can still sing at 80 and he's a class act plus he managed to maintain his fortune throughout the years. I think he's worth $260 million and he earned every penny. They don't make many men like this.
I saw him last year in Jacksonville Fl. There wasn't an empty seat. He was fantastic. His voice was as strong as ever. I remember when his show was on TV. If you remember back then Elvis was censored from the waist down. By the time Tom's show went on the air it wasn't much different. At the end of his show he always sang several songs and danced. When he started dancing I sat in my chair with my mouth open. If you have seen him dance you should understand why I could not believe they were not censoring him. I have been a fan since then but my first love is Elvis.
❤ Hot. On fire. Love the outfit! Love his voice, the way he moves, his eyes, his smile, his face, his hair....... still reading the list 20 years later....😂 ❤❤❤❤
They were both great. When we think of elvis, we think of the most diverse voice in history. "It's now or never" 1960. "Mystery train" 1955. "If I can dream" 1968. "Can't help falling in love" 1961. August 11, 1970, "bridge over troubled water" "Always on my mind" "until it's time for you to go" 1971. etc.....etc.....the list is ENDLESS........a critically acclaimed body of work in multiple genres of music.
i remember him when he first appeared on shindig a variety show in the 60's i had the pleasure of seeing him in person in the first row in an arena. we took our mom and my father got jealous lol he fantastic performer and blesssed with a beautiful voice. 😇
Tom Jones..my mom and aunts were crazy for that man. Confidence and voice were incredible. Amazing Tom Jones and Paul Rodgers from Wales had the most incredibly powerful voices. Paul of Bad Company. I'll put either one up against any Male vocal, open throat, shear power, many great Male vocalists obviously but those two are the gold standard. No auto-tune back then either!
Man that guy had Talent he had the pipes water set of pipes Tom Jones had remarkable voice and he could just belt a song out lot of talent don't see anything like that nowadays.
I am seeing more interviews of Tom Jones, he is very nice, how he talks and explains anything about his career and life. He is just very nice and courteous, not coming across as Mr. It or a big head, though famous, a very talented entertainer, and very sexy. That shows he has not forgotten where he came from, humble beginnings. That is character and integrity.
@@michaelhasenstein7838 , if your comment was for me, I am some years older than you. I am not naive about Sir Tom Jones, I had read that he had many affairs. My comment was not to be about his affairs. My comment was mostly about how he speaks to others, in a respectful way. I have seen it in a number of interviews. His wife knew about the affairs, not saying that made it right, but they stayed married until her death.
Magnetic charisma, confidence and control of the stage.Looks at duet partners. All made him irresistible. Didn't hurt he didn't wear underwear with his tight pants!!! But this was not uncommon in those days ❤️❤️❤️
😖Went to see Tom Jones and Van Morrison in concert and Tom was easily the best and got the crowd going. Great personality and even now today his voice is brilliant.👏
Lola Falano was one of favorite sites on your show Sir Tom....she was awesome but I believe she fell ill and had to stop performing. So sad...I loved your show, I was a senior in high school....❣
the ending of his show always spoke in welsh to say good night. my nephew loves his music and is 30 years old. i remember fresh prince of bal AIR alfonso dancing to his songs.
Sir Tom Jones is a living legend. The man has ALWAYS Performed well live and delivers knockout performances. His voice is second to none in that it is a voice that can sing virtually any genre of music and do it extremely well. Unlike His contemporary Elvis Presley who by his late 30s was looking like a washed out, irrelevant parody of himself giving mundane vapid performances( Presley does not belong in the same sentence with Jones as a singer and performer), Jones was just hitting his stride. Jones has one of the most distinct robust baritone voices I've heard since Roy Hamilton. And at 80 plus years of age he has managed to maintain that Incredible God gifted voice and look vital and robust as if it was still the 70s.
People who display a low IQ, need to be put into involuntary psychiatric camps. Elvis presley was still recording critically acclaimed masterpieces in the 70's. In fact, elvis's critically acclaimed recordings are in multiple genres of music. AND, even though Tom jones has lived decades longer than elvis, he's failed miserably at reaching elvis's level of critically acclaimed recordings. Tom has one tenth the amount, despite living decades longer. Looks like you've been poorly educated your entire life.
Tom has a "one trick pony" voice. Elvis's chameleon voice changed multiple times in his very very short career and life. In 1960, elvis's critically acclaimed "it's now or never" displays power and delicate shadings at the same time. Tom could NEVER EVER Attempt that elvis song, which is why he never did. As for you? You exemplify the easily duped weak minds of today.
You embarrass yourself greatly with outright pathological lies. On August 11 , 1970, elvis presley interpreted "Bridge over troubled water" into a masterpiece of soul depth and diversity. Tom jones never ever attempted or came anywhere near that level of artistry. You'd understand that if you had an ounce of intelligence. Elvis's chameleon voice is the most diverse voice in history. The punk rocker in 54' on critically acclaimed rock n roll, to the opera power of "it's now or never" 1960, to the towering "you'll never walk alone" 1966, to the delicate, "tomorrow is a long time" 1966, to the critically acclaimed soul of "if I can dream" 1968, the raw soul and country of the Memphis sessions in 1969, to the critically acclaimed Nashville sessions in 70 and 71. In a very very short life and career, elvis's critically acclaimed body of work DWARFS Tom jones in his 80 plus years. It's not even close. Then there's the DIRECT comparison. On Both "gentle on my mind" and "green green grass of home" elvis presley destroys tom. Tom's voice is a one trick pony. Elvis's chameleon voice is light years more diverse. By the way? I usually get paid to educate weak minds like you. Just drop off your tuition in my PayPal account on your way out the door. GTFOH
Both were great singers, performers, with stonkin' bluesy voices. Elvis influenced Tom, when Tom was growing up. Later on. Tom influenced Elvis comeback Vegas period.
